TANCHEERNA 💃🎶 Dance Friending for Absolute Beginners 🌤️
**The most enjoyable way to meet new people without going clubbing! ✨**
Tancheerna is unlike any dance event you’ve ever been to—there are no complex routines or staring at your feet. We hit the play button at 19:00 and start right away with fun group dances that are so simple, even children can do them.
Later we blend in some easy couple dances mixing European classics, modern folklore, and smooth Latin rhythms. Our evenings are all about **great music, laughter, and the simple joy of moving together.**
You don’t need a partner or any dance experience to join us. As long as you can sway to the rhythm, you belong. We use fun group mixers and rotate constantly, making it the perfect, fresh way to come alone and **connect with everyone naturally**.
At 21:00, we wrap up the music and head to the nearby bistro for drinks and socializing.

TRIGGERED: Wasn’t Woke Dead…??
TOPIC: Wasn’t Woke Dead…??
I wise man once said: “nobody be complaining if they had casted Terry Crews as Hellen of Troy…”
Samuel L. Jackson would be a great option in my humble opinion…
TRIGGERED is a discussion group for the young and young at heart, with philosophy as its core but focussed towards recent events, culture, and political philosophy, with a pinch of actual politics.
We’ll discuss the selected topic as a group and probably move somewhere else for another drink to talk about anything else.
Some of the points we’ll touch on:
* Briefly: What is woke?
* Netflix, Modern Hollywood and the Modern Audience.
* Case Study: Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
* Influence of wokeness outside entertainment.
So…
* Has wokeness actually reached its peak?
If so, when did it do so?
* Do you go broke if you go woke?
* We might have won the war, but why doesn’t it feel like victory?
* How to fix this landscape and move forward.

Symposium
Join us for Symposium! 🌞🌻🌳
In antiquity, a symposium was a gathering of friends who came together to recline around a shared table, where wine and conversation flowed freely into the night. Together, they would choose a topic and take turns speaking, listening, and laughing—guided by the rhythms of drink and dialogue.
Inspired by this tradition, our Symposium has no set theme. It's an invitation to come together with other curious minds, to offer up questions or ideas, and to vote together on where to begin. Whether you're hungry for connection or simply seeking space to speak and be heard, you're warmly welcomed to join the conversation.
Symposium will meet in parks throughout Prague, embracing the sunshine and pleasant weather while we have it. Bring a blanket or something to sit on. There’s no cost to join, but please bring a snack or drink to share, if you're able. Most of all, bring a curious mind and a willingness to learn from the insight of others.
Feel free to bring a friend or two--also, children and friendly dogs are welcome!
\*\*\*
If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll try to find an alternate venue—so keep an eye on the event chat or your email for updates.
Also, despite the origins of the Symposium, our goal is not necessarily to get drunk and the organizer would encourage you not to come with that sole purpose in mind. :)
The first 45 minutes of the event will be dedicated to simply getting to know one another, and we highly encourage you to join for this part. We will then vote whether to continue free conversation, to join together in a single conversation, or to split up into multiple groups. Afterwards, you’re welcome to stay or follow onto any spontaneous activity that unfolds.
A note on attendance: If you need to cancel, please do so at least a few days in advance and update your RSVP accordingly. This helps honor the host’s efforts and makes space for others who would like to attend. Repeated last-minute cancellations or no-shows may result in being placed on the waitlist for future events.
Via Ferrata – Pastýřská stěna, Děčín (Day Trip)
**A vertical sandstone wall rising straight from the banks of the Elbe. Děčín Castle staring at you from across the river. 16 routes bolted into solid rock, ranging from first-timer-friendly to genuinely hard. And it's 90 minutes from Prague by train.**
**Pastýřská stěna — Shepherd's Wall — is the longest via ferrata in the Czech Republic and the only one located right in the middle of a city. You climb from the Elbe embankment to the top of a 150–170m sandstone cliff, with the river canyon and castle below you the entire way. It's the perfect introduction to via ferrata — or a great morning workout if you've done it before and want to push harder lines.**
**What makes this place special is that you can do it multiple times in one day, on different routes. Beginners start on the easier B lines and get a feel for the gear. More experienced climbers go straight for the D routes and find they're harder than labelled. Everyone ends up at the same viewpoint on top, looking down at the same improbable view.**
**Who's this for?**
**Everyone. Literally. Kids from age 12, first-timers, experienced climbers — the wall has something for all of you. The only deal-breaker is a serious fear of heights. If you're on the fence about whether you can handle it: you can. Come and find out.**
*******
**🗓️ The Day**

**🧗** **\~10:30 — Climbing**
**16 routes, 150–170m each, grades B to E. We split into groups by experience and climb at our own pace.** **Checkpoints at the top of each route** **— we regroup, rest, and decide whether to go again or call it a day.**
**⚠️** **Important grade note:** **The routes here are graded by the builder — and they run consistently harder than labelled. B feels like C, C feels like D. Come prepared for more than the grade suggests.**
**🍺** **\~13:00 — Lunch on the Elbe embankment**
**Cafés and restaurants right by the river. Sit in the sun, order something cold, and look up at what you just climbed.**
**🧗** **\~14:00 — Second round (optional)**

Support Group for Failed Meditators & Other Spiritual Misfits
You went on that retreat, read the book, committed to meditating daily. And here you are at 3 am, drunkenly staring down a Žižkov doner, wondering what happened.
Come share your spiritual misadventures. You can bring a story, poem, insight, or simply come and hang out.
This is a space for anyone interested in spirituality and meditation. All paths and experiences are welcome!
We are meeting at Stromovka Park, near Stromovka Fountain. Bring something to sit on. Pets are always welcome!
We’ll start with an opening circle, short group meditation, then move into sharing and discussion.
If you arrive while we're meditating, feel free to join us quietly.

From Dusk Till Dawn (Krkonoše Night Hike) – 38 km
Dear Adventurers,
This one is truly special! Our dear friend and a relentless hiker Honza is taking us on a night adventure through Krkonoše where we'll get to see both the sunset and sunrise in one go. In between, we'll enjoy a ridge walk free of noise and light pollution (unless people opt for headlamps 🙃), and a picnic or two under the starry sky.
⚠️ The pace will be moderate, but the trail is still almost 40 km with significant elevation gain/loss. Not to mention the dark. Brace yourself for hills, uneven rocky paths, and circadian rhythm confusion.
📍 **Trail**
38 km • ↑ 1381 m • ↓ 1381 m

**🚌 Travel**

Open philosophical discussion in the heart of Prague
**These are the hottest days of the year. We will meet on the 4th of July at the entrance of the Planetárium Praha ([Královská obora 233, Bubenec, 170 21 Praha 7](https://www.google.de/maps/place/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x470b94ce6ef24a2d:0x95d62e70e8497a61?sa=X&ved=1t:8290&ictx=111)).** **From 17:00 until 17:15, we will gather in front of the planetarium. After 17:15, we shall then start searching for a nice place under the trees, where we will discuss, eat and drink together until the night…**
**If you like to have a philosophical conversation while enjoying the magnificent surroundings of the Stromovka Park, come and join us, the only condition for joining is that you bring something to eat and to drink with you. We will put all the delicious things on a blanket so that we don’t exchange only arguments…**
**Even though I normally don’t determine a topic in advance, I would like to ask you this time to make a list of some of your favorite movies. Try to imagine you have to convince another person that these movies are great. What would you say? What makes these movies important for you? What important (philosophical) questions do these movies raise or maybe even answer?**
The Bar Nomads 🤩🍹 #1 Social Mixer in Prague
**The ABSOLUTE BEST place to be on a Saturday night in Prague! 🤩🍹**
Every Saturday, we take over a stunning venue right in the city center and give you **total freedom to mingle at your own pace**. There’s no hand-holding, name tags, or stiff corporate icebreakers here—just a room full of great people skipping the small talk and **sparking real connections**. ✨
During peak hours, the room gets **TOTALLY MAGNETIC** and sometimes even beautifully chaotic. And to be honest, we love it exactly like this! Bar Nomads is all about pure social flow! ⚡🔥
If that’s your vibe, drop the city masks and dive headfirst into our lovely Hoffa madness. You’ll leave feeling energized, deeply connected, and a little bit more like **a true Praguer.** 😎🤙

COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process.
Fast track
• Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell).
• Show up and try it out.
• Complete application, etc. later.
Normal process
• Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/).
• Attend orientation in advance.
• At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility.
• Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM.
• Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895).
The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
IxDA Chat n Pancakes
You can sleep in on the Sesquicentennial (observed), we’re shifting to the following Friday.
But join the local UX community for a chat and some biscuits to catch up. If you were in CA for Figma Config, tell us all the lines and you can tell me how I can animate an SVG without coding it by hand, and why I’d even want to.
Thanks to the team at Nationwide of supporting the group.
