Chinese New Year Calligraphy
Title: Chinese Calligraphy in the Park đïžđ (Beginner-Friendly)
Description:
Join us for a calm, aesthetic outdoor session of Chinese calligraphy in the park â a slow, mindful practice where nature becomes your studio.
Weâll begin with a short story: how Chinese characters were inspired by observing nature, and why in calligraphy the most important thing isnât speed, but attention.
Then weâll practice step by step:
âą Brush basics: how to hold the brush, where to press, where to stay light
âą Water practice: strokes on water-writing sheets (they appear, then fade â no fear of mistakes)
âą Ink practice: training sheets with ink for deeper, more confident movement
âą Final piece: your chosen character on rice paper
(Optional: add a fingerprint stamp as a personal mark of the moment)
Youâll leave with your finished calligraphy â a small art object and a memory of a quiet, beautiful morning.
What to bring:
Comfortable clothes, a bottle of water, and a curious mind.
All calligraphy materials are provided (brush, ink, water sheets, paper).
Level:
Open to beginners â no experience needed.

FREE Improv Comedy drop-in - Delaware
It's happening again!
**WHAT:**
Free Improv Drop-in. No experience needed / beginner friendly! (18+ for now; plans for a "kids and parents" drop-in are in the works)
**TIME & PLACE:**
Sunday 1:30pm - 3pm
Delaware Library - 84 E Winter St, Delaware, OH 43015
in the Community Room
**WHAT TO BRING:**
Punctuality, yourself, a good attitude, and a willingness to have fun and be a bit silly and goofy around others. That's it!
**WHAT THIS IS:**
A time for fun and exploration. We're going to do improv warm-up exercises and play silly improv games. Think of it as "dipping your toe" into improv comedy.
**WHAT THIS IS NOT:**
Deep improv training with scene work; a place of judgement or worrying what others think; a place where you're expected to know what you're doing.
Please mention in the comments if you're planning on attending or use the "attending/interested" function; it really helps me plan the class depending on the amount of people participating.
Feel free to comment / spread the word / message me if you have any questions. Thanks!
Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit - Barret Blake

You will need to scan your ID at the door to get a visitor badge.
**Abstract**
*Spec-Driven Development with GitHub Spec-Kit: From Intent to Implementation*
Spec-driven development flips the traditional workflow on its head: instead of code being the source of truth, the specification becomes the backbone of design, collaboration, and delivery. In this session, weâll explore how GitHub Spec-Kit enables teams to treat specifications as first-class artifactsâliving documents that drive architecture, implementation, and verification.
Youâll learn how Spec-Kit helps teams clearly express intent using structured, version-controlled specs that live alongside code. Weâll walk through a practical workflow that starts with defining system behavior and constraints, then progressively refines those specs into testable, automatable outcomes. Along the way, weâll show how specs can reduce ambiguity, improve cross-functional collaboration, and make design decisions explicit before a single line of production code is written.
This talk will cover:
--What spec-driven development is (and what it isnât)
--How GitHub Spec-Kit fits into modern developer workflows
--Using specs to align product, engineering, and AI-assisted development
--Real-world examples of turning specs into implementations with confidence
Whether youâre building greenfield systems, integrating AI into your stack, or trying to reduce costly rework, spec-driven development offers a scalable way to move faster without sacrificing clarity. Attendees will leave with concrete patterns and a clear mental model for adopting GitHub Spec-Kit in their own projects.
