Umbraco London Social - NDC London meetup
Hi UmbLondoners, In honour of [NDC London](https://ndclondon.com/) we are hosting a little get together near the Queen Elizabeth II Centre in Westminster, where the event is. The Umbraco folks at NDC will be joining us so it's your chance to talk to some of the maintainers of the project! If you've never been to one of these types of meetups before, our 'social' events are relaxed, informal evenings. We meet in a designated pub and talk Umbraco, .NET, community activities and more. People are responsible for paying for their own drinks and food (if wanted). We just promise to provide a friendly welcome! We've chosen The Old Star 66 Broadway City-Of-Westminster Greater London England SW1H 0DB Its nearby and hopefully it has no special events on! Please sign up if you think you'll be joining the fun so that we can ensure that we have booked a space big enough for us! Hope to see you all there! While you are here, we need your input to help make Umbraco London better. Please take a moment of your time to answer a few questions. The State of Airflow 2026: London Airflow Meetup!
**Join fellow Airflow enthusiasts and leaders at Salisbury House for an evening of engaging talks, great food and drinks, and exclusive swag!** **We'll start you off with a deep dive into the Airflow 2026 survey results, and finish off with a community member presentation on the Apache TinkerPop provider.** **PRESENTATIONS** ***Talk #1: The State of Apache Airflow® 2026*** * **Speaker**: [Ash Berlin-Taylor](https://www.linkedin.com/in/ashberlin-taylor/), Director of Airflow Engineering at [Astronomer](https://www.astronomer.io/) & Apache Airflow PMC Member Apache Airflow® continues to thrive as the world’s leading open-source data orchestration platform, with 30M downloads per month and over 3k contributors. 2025 marked a major milestone with the release of Airflow 3, which introduced DAG versioning, enhanced security and task isolation, assets, and more. These changes have reshaped how data teams build, operate, and govern their pipelines. In this session, our speaker will share insights from the State of Airflow 2026 report, including: * Latest trends in how teams are using Airflow today * What’s next for the project and ecosystem * A discussion of emerging best practices and evolving use cases Join us to hear directly from a leader in the community and discover how to get the most out of Airflow in the year ahead. ***Talk #2: Building the Apache TinkerPop Provider for Airflow*** * **Speaker**: [Ahmad Farhan](https://www.linkedin.com/in/atfarhan/), Data Engineer Graph databases are powering everything from recommendation engines to fraud detection, but integrating graph operations into modern data pipelines has often required custom code and workarounds. Earlier this year, Ahmad built a new Apache TinkerPop provider for Airflow, making it easier than ever to orchestrate Gremlin queries, manage graph workloads, and connect Airflow to TinkerPop-enabled systems. In this session, you’ll learn: * What the TinkerPop provider does and why it matters for graph-based workloads * How to run Gremlin queries and manage graph jobs directly within Airflow * Real examples from the development process, including design decisions and lessons learned * How this provider opens the door for new use cases in graph analytics and data engineering Join us to explore how Airflow and TinkerPop can work together to streamline graph workflows and unlock new patterns in modern data pipelines. **AGENDA** * **5:30-6 PM:** Arrivals, networking, food & drinks * **6-7:05PM:** Presentations * **7:05-8PM:** Networking
Meetup #1 - The Launch!
Meetup #1 - The Launch!
Hello everyone! Welcome to the first Agentic AI London meet up. This event has been in the making since summer 2025 however... Running and organising meet up events is almost a full time job! That being said I'm super excited to bring to you our line up for the launch event below; **Matt Berry \| Solutions Architect @ WRITER** ***The rise of the AI builder: how value creation is shifting beyond engineering!*** Until now, building for the enterprise meant writing code and relying on engineering teams. That assumption is now changing. I will explore how AI is expanding who can build, enabling product, operations, marketing and domain experts to create real outcomes. **Martin Schaer \| Solutions Engineer @ SurrealDB** ***Multi-Model RAG with SurrealDB & LangChain*** In the rapidly evolving field of AI, most of the work goes into optimisation – either maximising accuracy or minimising latency. In this talk, Martin will walk through an experiment building a chatbot that answers questions over chat-style conversations, and show where different retrieval strategies shine. He’ll explore when plain vector retrieval is enough, when lightweight graphs start to help, and how to handle tricky aspects like time awareness and evolving context, using LangChain components on top of a multi-model database. The focus will be on practical patterns and trade-offs rather than benchmarks. A huge thank you to Vorboss LTD for hosting and sponsoring drinks as well as the WRITER team for sponsoring food for the evening! Please arrive at 6pm for some networking, pizzas and drinks with the talks starting at 6.30pm sharp!

B is for Blitz: the Club that shaped the 80s @ Design Museum
B is for Blitz: the Club that shaped the 80s @ Design Museum
*"We lived for the subculture and we were the subculture."* – Boy George. **Join us at the Design Museum for a major exhibition on the legendary Blitz club night that transformed 1980s London style, and generated a creative scene that had an enormous impact on popular culture in the decade that followed – from fashion and music, to film, art and design.** Behind a door in a Covent Garden side street, the Blitz club was the place where 1980s style began. Inspired by everything from David Bowie, the punk and soul scenes, to continental cinema and cabaret culture, the brightest young talents of their generation came together to revolutionise fashion, music and design, turning a niche club night into a launchpad for global superstardom. The scene launched the careers of many stars, including chart-topping performers Spandau Ballet, Visage, Boy George and Marilyn as well as a long list of designers, artists, filmmakers and writers — from couture milliner Stephen Jones and Game of Thrones costume designer Michele Clapton, to DJ and fashion writer Princess Julia and BBC broadcaster Robert Elms. Forty years after its closure, visitors can revisit the trailblazing club's history and atmosphere with a sensory extravaganza of music, flamboyant fashions, and pioneering art, film, and graphic design. Developed in close collaboration with some of the leading ‘Blitz Kids’ who were there, the exhibition features over 250 items, ranging from clothing and accessories, design sketches, musical instruments, flyers, magazines, furniture, artworks, photography, vinyl records and rare film footage. London daytime testing at Waterloo
London daytime testing at Waterloo
We playtest all sorts of games - strategic, silly, creative, or whatever. Some games are almost done. Some are very early ideas. We test anything that will fit into 90 minutes. You don't need to bring a game - we always love to have new playtesters! Please let us know in the comments when you plan to arrive/leave and whether you are bringing a game or not. This helps us to plan the day better. The schedule is: 10am onwards - gathering, chatting 11am sharp - playing for 90 min ('slot 1') 12:30ish - break for food/chat 1pm sharp - playing for 90 min ('slot 2') 2:30ish - break for food/chat 3pm sharp - playing for 90 min ('slot 3') 4:30ish - finish up Often, we might hang around afterwards, to play some already-published games. We are strict on timings, so please try to arrive a few minutes before the session to limit disruption. You can just come for part of the day if you wish. The reason we have fixed timings for the 3 'slots' is to make it easier for folk to do so. Designers of all levels of experience are welcome! But if it's your first time, we ask that you don't bring a game and just spend some time learning how the group works. The group works based on reciprocation. If you expect to test your own game, make sure stay for long enough to play other games. As a general rule of thumb, you can expect to play one of your own games every third 90-minute session. So if you stay a whole day (3 sessions), you can expect to have one session to play your game(s). A good rule of thumb is that if you come all day, you will have one 90 minute session with two other playtesters in which to test your own games. It is sometimes possible to test games with more players. If your game requires 4 or more, please note that as standard you will be allocated half of a session (45 minutes). Pre-covid, we were getting unmanageable. As a result, we may have to limit attendees. This is a free-to-use venue, and we have to be mindful that other folk want to use the same space. Please note: This is an adults only event. We look forward to seeing you!
Archetypal Coaching: Synergies through Astrology and Dream Work -Alba Carod
Archetypal Coaching: Synergies through Astrology and Dream Work -Alba Carod
Archetypal Coaching offers a transformative approach to personal growth, blending ancient Greek astrological foundations and dream work with modern coaching techniques, somatic awareness, and Jungian active imagination. Astrological archetypes illuminate the roots of struggles and highlight potential resources, while dreams act as a focused lens, bringing attention to issues that require immediate exploration. The approach explored within this book emphasizes interactive dialogue with archetypes and symbols, using embodied imagination and somatic awareness to guide clients in creating a personal symbol that embodies their inner process and potential, echoing Jung’s concept of the transcendent function. Supported by six in-depth case studies and numerous examples, the author outlines a holistic framework for integrating astrology and dream work into coaching, emphasizing personal growth and treating archetypes as dynamic tools for creativity and self-discovery. This book will appeal to established coaches, counsellors, and therapists interested in integrating archetypal work into their practice, as well as students of Jungian psychology, coaching, art therapy, astrology, and related fields.

CBusData - Ok I Want to Get Data into Fabric - Now What?
CBusData - Ok I Want to Get Data into Fabric - Now What?
I love my job and one of the main things I do is help customers get going with any of the data technologies at Microsoft. Right now there are a lot of my customers asking about Microsoft Fabric. It's hard to weave across all the shiny new options across the Fabric landscape, let alone figure out where it fits into your organization. In this session we'll focus on answering one question - how can I get data into Fabric? We'll talk through the "it depends" options and see some of the options in live demos.
Azure CBUS January: Learn Infrastructure-as-Code Through Minecraft
Azure CBUS January: Learn Infrastructure-as-Code Through Minecraft
## Learn Infrastructure-as-Code (the FUN Way) — Through Minecraft 🎮☁️ **Joint Meetup: Azure CBUS × Columbus HashiCorp User Group × DevOps Columbus** What if learning Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code didn’t feel like a whitepaper… but more like a game? Join us for a joint Azure CBUS, Columbus HashiCorp User Group, and DevOps Columbus meetup where **Mark Tinderholt** \(Principal Architect\, Microsoft Azure \| HashiCorp Ambassador \| “The Azure Terraformer”\) shows how **Minecraft** can be used as a surprisingly powerful way to understand real-world Infrastructure-as-Code concepts. In this session, Mark will demonstrate how Terraform and Azure can be used to provision, configure, and manage Minecraft servers—while teaching the same patterns you’d use for production cloud infrastructure. ### What we’ll cover * Infrastructure-as-Code fundamentals using **Terraform** * Provisioning real infrastructure on **Azure** * Applying **IaC best practices** (immutability, repeatability, versioning) * How playful environments like Minecraft make complex concepts *click* * Why learning through experimentation beats click-ops every time ### Who should attend * Developers, platform engineers, and cloud engineers * Terraform users (new or experienced) * Anyone curious about Infrastructure-as-Code but tired of boring examples * Minecraft fans who want to see it used in a totally unexpected way No prior Minecraft experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to learn infrastructure the fun way. Come for the blocks, stay for the Terraform. 🧱➡️📐 Want to be a speaker? submit your talk to our Call for Presenters!!! https://sessionize.com/azure-cbus-2026/
Azure CBUS February: Build Your Own MCP Server
Azure CBUS February: Build Your Own MCP Server
### Tools in your AI's Toolbox : An introduction to MCP Servers The generative AI revolution has unlocked unprecedented capabilities, but the next frontier is agency: empowering models to interact with, query, and act upon the world. The current challenge is the “N x M integration problem,” where every AI model requires a custom, brittle integration for each external tool or data source. This approach simply doesn’t scale. How can we give an AI access to our sales leads, code repositories, or IoT devices in a standardized, secure, and reusable way? This session introduces Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open-source framework designed to solve this challenge and become the universal connector—the USB-C port—for AI. MCP standardizes how AI models discover and use external tools, moving beyond simple function-calling to a robust, client-server architecture. We will dive into how this open protocol is creating a new ecosystem for building powerful, context-aware AI agents. Join this session for a developer-focused introduction where you will learn how to: Understand the core concepts of the open-source Model Context Protocol and its architecture. Utilize pre-built, open-source MCP servers to instantly connect AI to tools like Git, Slack, and databases. Build a custom MCP server to securely expose your own proprietary data and APIs as tools for any compliant AI. Move beyond bespoke integrations and contribute to a standardized, collaborative, and open ecosystem. Stop building one-off connectors and start building intelligent agents. This session will give you the practical knowledge to leverage MCP and create the next generation of AI that doesn’t just talk, but does.
