Join us in **Zug** for an **in-person** Shut Up & Write this week! RSVP and message me for the exact location. (We will still be meeting online, as well.) . . . . Join us for an hour of writing from the comfort of your own home. All writers and all experience levels are welcome and don’t worry, no one will see what you've written. This hour is about getting your writing done. WHAT TO EXPECT We’ll give 5 minutes in the beginning for people to settle in and share what they’re working on, then have 50 minutes of focused writing before we give people a chance to talk about what they accomplished. Stick around and chat for a bit, or feel free to head out. WHAT DO I NEED? A computer with a working camera and microphone, a good internet connection, and optionally, headphones.

Welcome to our weekly physical or virtual Club Polyglotte meeting. * As usual, a minimum consumption of one drink or something small to eat is obligatory at Restaurant Quai Steffen at 13, Place de la gare at the Luxembourg railway station. * We start our get together at 19:00 h and finish at 22:00 h. Hello Easy Spinners. Temperatures will reach 8 degrees Celsius on Saturday the 7th of February and the total rain forecast for that day is 1mm. This is a good opportunity to **escape the hug of hibernation**. **What we will do together** **1.** Cycle from Luxembourg gare **(front of Police station)** to Echternach lake (about 45km). **2.** Have a picnic at Echternach lake **(warm dining area inside the Youth Hostel).** Those who wish to do a shorter ride can take the **bus** from Echternach back to Lux gare. **3.** Cycle from Echternach lake to Wasserbilling gare (about 20km). If we maintain an average speed of about 18km/hour and have a total stop time of 90 minutes (including 1 hour picnic at the lake), we can finish the ride in 5 hours. **Getting home from finishing point (Wasserbillig gare)** There are trains from Wasserbillig to Luxembourg Gare every 30 minutes. Also, there are buses going from Wasserbillig to other directions. **What to bring** 1\. Your bike in tip top condition\. 2\. Energy snacks\. 3\. **People Analytics 101: Making Sense of Compensation Data** Compensation data is one of the most widely used and widely misunderstood forms of people analytics. The session will cover where compensation data comes from, including market pricing data, internal payroll data, and benchmarking sources, and how companies think about structuring and analyzing that information. We will explore how compensation data is leveraged to set salary ranges, manage internal equity, support hiring and retention, and align pay with business strategy. A portion of the session will address common data challenges and limitations, such as market noise, inconsistent job matching, and incomplete datasets, while keeping the primary focus on practical use rather than technical depth. The session will also look ahead at where the space is going, including the growing impact of pay transparency laws, expanding pay equity requirements, and emerging regulations in the US and Europe that require organizations to report on gender and pay gaps. The goal is to give attendees a clear mental model for how compensation analytics works today and why getting it right is becoming increasingly critical.
