reviving gardans, Growing community
reviving gardans, Growing community
**Hands in the Soil: Community Growing, Learning & Craic** This first gathering will be a relaxed mix of **hands-on garden work, shared learning, and good conversation**. It’s about getting together in a real space, doing something practical, and seeing what ideas and connections might grow from there. On the day, we’ll: * Get our **hands dirty** with some light garden work and soil prep * Do some **seed sowing** and talk about what grows well locally * **Make kombucha together** and chat about fermentation, food, and simple home practices * Share knowledge, questions, and experiences around growing food * Enjoy some **fellowship, chats, and a bit of craic** along the way.Alongside the practical side, we’ll also have an open, informal discussion about a bigger idea: * The possibility of **small community “park farms” or gardens** in underused green spaces around Dublin * What that might look like, what’s realistic, and whether others feel drawn to exploring it further There’s no pressure, no expertise required, and no expectation beyond showing up with curiosity and a willingness to pitch in. Whether you’re experienced with gardening or completely new, you’re very welcome. Bring clothes you don’t mind getting muddy, and if you have them, gloves. Everything else will be very low-key. This is just a **first step** — a chance to meet, work, talk, and see if there’s a shared appetite to keep growing something together.

Let’s play... Public Access / Hex and the City / Goat Crashers
Let’s play... Public Access / Hex and the City / Goat Crashers
Join us every Sunday and tell a story as a group by playing a beginner-friendly roleplaying game. Every week we have 2-3 different games - you'll choose one to play on the day. All materials provided and rules are explained at the start of each game, you just need to bring your imagination. 🎭 **This week's facilitators:** * 📺 **Eoin** with *[Public Access](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gauntlet/public-access-analog-horror-mystery-ttrpg)*, an analogue horror/mystery game using the Brindlewood Bay system. The year is 2004. You've returned to Deep Lake, New Mexico on a mission to uncover the secrets behind a TV station that only you and a few likeminded obsessives seem to remember. As you hunt for video tapes and clues to the mystery surrounding the long lost channel, you'll uncover far more than you bargained for - about this unassuming town and yourselves. * 🌇 **Vishnu** with *Hex and the City*: an urban fantasy clone of *[Lasers and Feelings](https://johnharper.itch.io/lasers-feelings)* where you are members of a monster hunting crew. You are all that stands between the forces of darkness and the innocent people that don't believe in them. Whatever hijinks and personal drama you have going on in the background, you have always managed to come through and save this City. Or at least, you have until SERENITY, THE CHOSEN ONE got herself grievously wounded in the last battle, leaving you with no prophetic visions to guide you, or convenient one-shot monster killing powers while she recovers. (Or maybe she's off "recuperating" with her demon boyfriend again, who knows?) * 🐐 **Scott** with *[Goat Crashers](https://gshowitt.itch.io/goat-crashers)*, a Grant Howitt one-page RPG. You're a cheeky little goat who just wants to party. Problem is, the only party in town doesn't want goats to attend. But to hell with them; you're going to get inside by any means necessary and have the BEST time. *** Feel free to ask the organisers any questions you have (here or on our [Discord server](https://tinyurl.com/indie-rpgs-dublin)).
Cinema Breakfast - California Schemin'
Cinema Breakfast - California Schemin'
Hi guys, This Sunday we'll head to The Lighthouse cinema in Smithfield to see California Schemin' at 12:15. We'll meet at the cafe there from 11:15. Make sure to book your tickets in advance! See you there # **California Schemin’** 101 mins [trailer ](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUTSyu4Ovcc) \*\*Director:\*\*James McAvoy \*\*Starring:\*\*Lucy Halliday, Samuel Bottomley, James McAvoy, Séamus McLean Ross, Amber Anderson, Sonny Poon Tip, Rebekah Murrell, Jennifer Winn, David Witts In the late '90s, Gavin Bain and Billy Boyd had their musical ambitions consistently ridiculed for having the 'wrong' accents, so they went for broke and reinvented themselves as Californian rappers. The duo re-recorded their own tracks with fake accents and turned up in London claiming to be an established duo on the Cali scene as well as childhood friends with Eminem. They quickly bagged themselves a record deal, a hefty sum in advances, and an appearance on MTV... until it all came crashing down.

Divine Mercy Sunday
Divine Mercy Sunday
The feast day of Divine Mercy is the Sunday after Easter. This special day commemorates God’s unfathomable love for us expressed through his divine mercy. It is based on the visions and experiences of Our Lord which were granted to Sister (now saint) Faustina Kowalska during the 1930's. One of the messages from Our Lord to St Faustina - “*On that Day, the very depths of My Tender Mercy are open, whoever goes to confession and receives Holy Communion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment.*” (Diary:699) We will go for coffee in the Maldron Hotel afterwards.
Before Sunrise
Before Sunrise
Hi all, I’m setting up Richard Linklaters much admired ‘*Before*’ triology over three sucessive Sundays this April beginning with **Before Sunrise** for **Sunday April 12th at 4pm.** I’ve never seen this triology but have heard great things about it. One of cinema’s great love stories begins on a train from Budapest to Paris, when chance sees Parisienne Céline (Julie Delpy) sit across from American tourist Jesse (Ethan Hawke). The two begin a conversation, and the chemistry is so immediate that she agrees to disembark with him in Vienna and keep him company before his flight the following morning. The two wander around the city at night, always talking, sharing confidences and truths until dawn breaks and threatens their connection. Screening is taking place in screen 1 and early booking is advised. I’ll be in the foyer from 3.30pm with my purple baseball hat. See you all there, Martin

CMG Gives Back: Serve Brunch at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for BRUNCH from 10:30am to 12:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 10:20am and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking is available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details: IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1 week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to all of YOU for volunteering at this (and any of our previous) CMG Gives Back events! Should be a good/fun/meaningful time together, Dan
