**This week's venue: Beer People \| Lázár utca 7\, Budapest 1065** We hold a bi-weekly workshop to encourage creative writing where we share pieces of creative writing and solicit feedback from the other attendees. Some members also use the forum to find others with whom to collaborate, edit work, and/or brainstorm plot, themes, settings, and so forth. And from time to time, we participate in competitions, recite and/or offer material for events organized by other groups. At the moment there is no prompt for this particular meetup. Instead, writers are invited to submit something they have (or are working on) or to craft a short story specifically for the event. Of course, there's no pressure to submit something. Many participants are interested in hearing ideas, questioning the authors, and examining style and technique. Often, we explore other published works as well. The submission guidelines are as follows: 1. limit the piece to 850 words (to give enough time for any other submissions being read at the event); 2. make the text available (though you can read it aloud) for the other attendees. Many authors bring a few printed copies, but one can also pre-post the item on [bpcw.slack.com](http://bpcw.slack.com) in the "_NextMeetup" channel (write me at eahofer (at) gmail if you aren't a member already); 3. have a question in mind for the group about the submission; and, 4. About people, brands, things, cities, food, rituals. Is it a matter of just “taste”? Is it refinement through traing or education? Aesthetics is not just decoration. It’s a value system. It shapes desire, identity, what we trust, and the very meaning of things. This session is not about “what’s beautiful”. It’s about **where does beauty come from, why it is so influential to our lives**, **how it** **defines or even shapes so many things.** You dont need to be an expert in art or fashion, but expect different points of view. If everyone agrees, the session probably failed. **Session Outline** 1. **Introductions (10 minutes)** Please bring an object (can be an image in your mobile) of something that you consider beatiful. Can also be a passage of a literary work, or concept, etc. 2. **Background on Aesthetics by Philospher Erik Hallay** **(20 minutes approx.)** Erik will give a short intro about the definition, history, and implications of aesthetics. 3. **Some questions that we will explore for the rest of the session:** **(1 hour and 30 minutes)** 4.
