The amazing digital circus movie watch party
Looking for any fellow TADC fans who are going to see the finale in theaters. You will need to get your own tickets and food, but I’m just hoping to find some friends who share my interest in this fandom and its movie. Message me if you have a group you’re going with (sorry, I’m new to this app and I’m unsure of how it works 😅)
Georgetown Summer Art Walk - New Exhibits at Galleries
We've attended this event in other times of the year and had a great time. This is the first summer one and there will be all new exhibits. These galleries are incredibly welcoming and full of impressive art - and most of them are close together. **You can see a full [list here](https://www.georgetownmainstreet.com/summerartwalk).**
The event will feature 16 local venues showcasing a diverse range of artwork, including photography, paintings, sculptures, and mixed media pieces - plus a classic car show and some restaurant specials.
Throughout the day, you'll have the chance to meet and chat with the artists, learn about their inspirations and creative processes, and purchase unique pieces to add to your collection.
Free Guided Meditation - for Beginners
**Sahaja Yoga teaches a unique method of meditation, rooted in ancient spiritual knowledge.**
We follow a format of continuous integration of topics in our classes so that no two classes are same and so we are able to accommodate new meditators along with experienced ones.
**Through Sahaja Yoga, you can achieve a state of meditation known as thoughtless awareness. In this state, you experience and enjoy the present moment without any distractions from the past or future. Your consciousness works in flow with your inner energy ([Kundalini](https://us.sahajayoga.org/the-kundalini/)).**
Some of the things we go over with in our programs are how to awaken your dormant Mother energy called Kundalini.
Meditation with Mantras using power of very basic mantra to bring peace within!
Meditation with music, what are Chakras, how to take affirmations, what is Thoughtless Awareness and how to find the state of your Chakras.
*Meditation sessions led by an experienced fellow meditator.*
**Please join us to awaken the dormant energy within you and re-balance your emotional, physical and mental state of being!**
**Sahaja Yoga was founded in 1970 by Shri Mataji**. She envisioned a world where people would be transformed, and lead more balanced lives. She has worked tirelessly to help people meditate and achieve greater spiritual heights through this meditation.

Game Dev Working Session (Tysons-Pimmit VA Library Conference Room)
**Location**: Tysons-Pimmit Regional Library (Virginia) Conference Room
A game development **Working Session** involves 3 key parts:
1. Tell people what you're going to do
2. Actually do stuff
3. Show people what you did
That's what we'll be doing for this meeting. We'll briefly tell each other what we're going to do, then work on our projects, then at around 5:30 wrap up to show each other what we did and chat for a bit.
You don't have to stay the whole time, so feel free to drop in and out as you have time.
All game development skill levels welcome. Whether you're bringing a game you're trying to ship in a month, or you're just planning on following some tutorials or trying out a new tool to improve your skills, use this time to make progress.
Working sessions also train you to think about the scope of your work: pick a chunk of work that you can complete in the time that we have. That way you can end the working session with a feeling of accomplishment!
**What to bring**: Laptop, Charger, maybe a power strip if you have one handy, any other game development tools you need. Try to download any software you need before the working session. There is Wifi at this location, but it may be slow if you have to download any large files.

What Would Machine Consciousness Look Like? A Report from Berkeley
What would it mean to take the possibility of machine consciousness seriously? To approach it as a question that may be studied with rigor?
At this DC Digital Minds gathering, group organizer **Jessie Mannisto** will report back from the **Founding Assembly for Machine Consciousness Research** in Berkeley, CA, where researchers and thinkers are working to develop the machine consciousness hypothesis into something more scientifically useful. We’ll talk about what kinds of evidence might support hypotheses of machine conscience or sentience, what concepts researchers are using, where the major uncertainties are, and why these questions may have ethical, social, and policy implications as AI systems become more capable and socially present.
This will be a casual conversation with a little structure: Jessie will give a short report-back from the conference, followed by open discussion.
No technical background required -- just curiosity, good faith, and a willingness to think carefully about a strange and important frontier.
Optional Pre-Read: [The Machine Consciousness Hypothesis](https://cimc.ai/cimcHypothesis.pdf)

Machine Learning for Reliable Quantum Computing: An Algorithm–Hardware
Date: June 7 2026 Sunday 10:00 am - Noon EDT
Full title: Machine Learning for Reliable Quantum Computing: An Algorithm–Hardware Co-Design Perspective
Summary: Reliable quantum computing requires co-design across the full stack, including algorithm structure, compilation, and execution, rather than isolated optimization of any single layer. This talk presents a unified framework in which these layers are jointly optimized under realistic hardware constraints. Structure-aware compilation exploits algorithmic interaction graphs to reduce circuit depth; joint optimization across mapping, term ordering, and algorithm parameters yields significantly improved success probability; and execution-layer analysis reveals that error mitigation effectiveness depends critically on circuit symmetry and native gate choice. While demonstrated on superconducting quantum processors, the underlying co-design principles are potentially transferable across architectures. Building on this foundation, the talk highlights machine learning as the key enabler for closing the feedback loop: data-efficient, parameterized noise models learned directly from workload execution data achieve substantially improved predictive fidelity over vendor models without the overhead of dedicated characterization. These insights situate the co-design perspective within the emerging framework of quantum deep learning. In this broader setting, the talk also presents an operational definition, a unifying taxonomy, and a benchmarking protocol grounded in explicit resource contracts.
Speaker: Dr. Yanjun Ji has an interdisciplinary research background in Physics and Computer Science. In 2020, she completed my Master's degree in Theoretical Physics at Saarland University. In 2024, she earned her Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Stuttgart. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Forschungszentrum Jülich. She is committed to interdisciplinary research at the cutting-edge convergence of quantum computing and artificial intelligence. Her research encompasses both foundational theoretical investigations and the development of practical applications, aiming to serve society and benefit humanity.

Sunday Morning Meditation
**Weekly Sunday Meditation Classes with Sanema Naomi Hardrick**

* The teaching is then followed by a **guided meditation** to help us mix our mind with the teaching and take it to heart.
* Time permitting, at the end of the meditation class we spend a few minutes in **group discussion** and the teacher will take any **questions** that the class might have about the topic.

Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you were quoted in *Truth in Comedy*, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**!
The idea behind improvised comedy is to create entire scenes from scratch. A suggestion is taken from the audience and laughter is built on the spot. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway, Make Some Noise,* or *Wild 'n Out*; it can also be done in a longer way, to tell a complicated story, like *TJ & Dave*.
Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and FREE!) weekly comedy event, brings the games for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Afterward, many members will hang out in *Gresso's* itself and get to know each other. Not only is this a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, your public speaking, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and build relationships that will last a lifetime, and you do that while laughing your butt off!
Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "*Yes, And*" that you'll have a blast!
