## **Let’s Make Something Real**
You’re invited to a **Music Production Session** of **Pure Creation.**
We’re stripping away the gatekeeping and the endless tutorials.
This isn’t a masterclass; it’s a digital jam session where the goal is to walk out with a track that has everyone’s DNA on it. Whether you’re a professional sound designer or you just bought your first MIDI controller yesterday, if you have ideas, we want them in the mix.
### **The Vibe**
* **Genre Agnostic:** From lo-fi beats and cinematic soundscapes to heavy techno or glitch—if it sounds good, it stays.
* **DAW Agnostic:** Logic, Ableton, FL Studio, Bitwig? It doesn't matter. Use the tools that help you speak.
* **Creation Over Teaching:** We believe the best way to learn is by doing. You’ll pick up tricks by osmosis, but our primary mission is the "Export" button.
### **How It Works**
We’re keeping the workflow lean so we can stay in the flow state:
1. **Access:** Make sure to Register your spot on MeetUp as well as at [LCMP](lcmpbygoccai.com) to receive ***access links*** to all files as well as the ***final location*** for confirmed attendees. We’ll use a shared Dropbox folder to swap stems, loops, and one-shots in real-time.
**Note:** If you are not signed up on [LCMP](lcmpbygoccai.com) **and** MeetUp, you wont receive access.
2. **Bring Your Gear:** Laptop + DAW + Headphones + Charging Cable, Extension Cord (If you need it) Ensure you’re ready to make noise the moment you plug in.
3. **The Master Mix:** We’ll have a central project running.
4. **The Drop:** You create a part, share it, and watch the track evolve.

Indoor Draw & Sketch Hangout - MaRS Discovery District
Hi everyone!
We're doing an afternoon sketching hangout at the MaRS Building food court tables- Enter MaRS from Collage Street where the statue of two men are sitting by the glass doors. Turn left and head down the escalator. Turn left at the bottom of the escalator and head down the hall past another escalator and Foosball table the event will be held at the far end of the food court.

Please bring your art supplies. Digital tablet, dry mediums, watercolour set, really anything that doesn't smell and is non toxic and easy to clean up. Please be considerate and leave the space as clean as it was before.

*Note the food court is closed but there are a couple of coffee shops in the area at street level.

Mob Programming at Mofer Coffee
Let’s do some coding together at a cafe! No more working alone in the weekend. Here, we write code together. And I mean together together. Not occupying-the-same-space-but-separate together.
Here’s how it works: Jennifer brings her mobile app project, tells everyone that it is like Pinterest for recipes and she’d like to work on the nav bar. Paul and Chloe think Jennifer's project is fascinating, and they join the group. They gather around Jennifer’s laptop and work on the nav bar for 2 hours. Jennifer is the one typing out the code while Paul and Chloe research, brainstorm, and offer suggestions.
If you’re feeling stuck on your own project or need a motivation boost, bring it to mob programming!
Want to learn by watching how others code and solve problems? Join someone else’s project at this event!
Oh and we love your half-done projects that you are a bit embarrassed to share. Absolutely bring those to the event!

Struggling with motivation and focus as you hammer away on your manuscript at home? Want to join a community of writers as we embrace the joys and pains (mostly pains) of writing together?
Bring your laptop, pen & paper, old-school typewriter, or futuristic writing gadget, and join an enthusiastic community of science fiction and fantasy writers as we work on our current projects in the same space. The format will be similar to our online writing sprints: 30-minute blocks of focused, quiet writing time (the sprints), interspersed with breaks where we can chat, ask questions, and share our writing experiences.

This presentation by Julie Swango, reviews the process of creating the Ketron SD1000 Explorer. The Ketron SD1000 Explorer is a cross platform application that communicates with and configures the Ketron SD1000, a MIDI sound module. Topics covered include:
* Software development lifecycle,
* Determining requirements,
* Making practical decisions and cutting scope to stay focused and get things done,
* Occasional crime against data structures and algorithms.
The presentation also includes a live demonstration of the software in action and a chance for discussion.

Julie Swango is the current co-chair of the Northeast Ohio Professional Chapter of the ACM (NEOACM), where she has been a member 10 years. Julie holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and has many years of professional experience working in software development and software testing.
