Fitzrovia – “the best place to live in London”
Fitzrovia – “the best place to live in London”
**Fitzrovia – “the best place to live in London”** This social walk, led by volunteer Robert Hall, is presented by Central London Humanists for everybody who is seeking a more assured path in life. Humanists believe we have just one life to be lived rationally and well, with compassion for others. This event is a guided walk of +/- 2 hours pointing out places of interest. We will be walking 3.5 Km / 2.15 miles. Find out why The Sunday Times named Fitzrovia the best place to live in London. Certainly many famous people have lived there given the plethora of Blue Plaques. There will be a few offbeat fascinating facts about possibly the grandest building we pass – The British Museum; but there is competition for the grandest building in Russell Square. There will also be “a great architectural feature” – but not all agree. We’ll meet several “trailblazing women who empowered women in male-dominated trades”. You’ll also find out why, despite being an atheist, your walk leader attends a church most Sundays. **Date:** Saturday 20th June 2026 **Time:** 2 pm with a prompt departure at 2.15 pm **Place:** Meet adjacent to exit from Tottenham Court Road underground station on south side of New Oxford Street. Exit 3 from the station. It is strongly suggested you find us using: [https://what3words.com/movie.stem.bunk](https://what3words.com/movie.stem.bunk) or the What3Words app. The nearest toilets are at various cafes or pubs in the surrounding area. **Finishes:** About 4.15 pm at The Jack Horner, 234-236 Tottenham Court Road W1T 7QN. The pub is convenient for Goodge Street or Tottenham Court Road underground stations. The walk is led by Robert – 07981963681. He can be contacted for further information but please note he won’t be able to respond to messages or calls after the walk has started. **The formal bit:** These walks are not suitable for dogs, sorry. CLH events are 18+ unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. If you have signed up but find you can't attend, please change your RSVP on Meetup (it’s very easy to do) as soon as possible so that a more accurate number of attenders can be estimated. You are responsible for your own actions and safety; there is no liability on the walk leader or CLH for anything that may happen on the walk. You must be able to keep up with the walk leader at 4 Km/h (2.5 mph) for 5 Km (3 miles). It is participants' responsibility to safely cross roads. Where appropriate, pedestrian controlled lights will be used and obeyed unless it is obvious that the whole group can cross safely. When the group stops at a point of interest, please be mindful not to block pavements so members of the public can pass by safely. Don’t forget this is the UK and it may rain at any time! The walk will go ahead whatever the weather unless conditions are dangerous so please bring clothing for all seasons. **A donation of £3 to Central London Humanists would be appreciated.** The majority of Central London Humanists events are free, but we welcome a £3 contribution per head. This helps towards the running and organising of events, as well as various admin expenses. If you can't attend and would still like to contribute, or would prefer to pay online, please **[click here](https://square.link/u/M2B7tJT4)**[.](https://square.link/u/M2B7tJT4) Anyone who is interested in Humanism and Central London Humanists may wish to consider becoming a member: * If you wish to register as a full member of CLH (no membership fee) please register on our website: [https://centrallondonhumanists.org.uk/signup](https://centrallondonhumanists.org.uk/signup) * If you wish to join Humanists UK and support its work to promote humanism in British life, please go to: [Humanists UK – Think for yourself, act for everyone](https://humanists.uk/) We encourage dialogue, debate, and sharing of information, but ask people to keep their comments cordial. Any individual's views expressed (most definitely including the walk leader!) do not necessarily reflect the views of the group at large.
Rabble - Fitness Through Games!
Rabble - Fitness Through Games!
A Rabble session is 1 hour of fun and social team games. Each game disguises high-intensity intervals within the rules, giving you an effective, all-body workout without even realising it. We play a bunch of different games at each session (like British Bulldog, Capture the Flag, Dodgeball, Frisbee and many more), and every class is different. Sessions are open to all, no matter your sporting ability. Each game is explained before we start, so there's no need to have played any of the games before. Come solo or bring friends! And stay at the end for the social part! Who knew getting fit could be this fun? **TO BOOK**: It's essential that you book onto sessions via our website, using the link below; due to restrictions on games and preparation times we cannot accept walk-ins, or late arrivals. [https://joinrabble.com/locations/london/](https://joinrabble.com/locations/london/) Use the code **FREEPLAY** to get your first game free! *** We play every: * Monday in Finsbury Park (19:00 - 20:00) * Tuesday in Shoreditch Park (19:00 - 20:00) * Wednesday in Elephant & Castle (19:00 - 20:00) * Saturday in Southwark Park (10:30 - 11:30) * Saturday in Finsbury Park (11:00 - 12:00) * Sunday in Clapham Common (12:00 - 13:00) We hope to see you playing soon! PS. We have a group of dedicated regulars, so numbers are usually much higher than Meetup might suggest. Book your place here: [https://joinrabble.com/locations/london/](https://joinrabble.com/locations/london/) **Love Rabble**

***Reminder*** 🤞:[ ](https://luma.com/aaewwnt1)**[This is not a free event. Click here to get your ticket. Register early.*](https://luma.com/aaewwnt1?utm_source=moo-mu)** If you can't click the link, see comments for a clickable version. ☕ *"I'm fine, thanks."* 🌤️ *"Lovely weather."* 📅 *"Any plans?"* Sound familiar? 👂 Does every chat feel like it's running on autopilot? 🛫 Are you hearing the same old answers, over and over again? 🔁 It’s exhausting, and it keeps everyone at arm's length. **Escape the Small Talk** is a three-hour break from the mundane. This isn't a party or a stiff networking mixer. It's not something in between. This is a different event, hosted by **More EQ**—an organisation offering intentional connection spaces globally—this Sunday afternoon event is a small, focused space to skip the superficial pleasantries and get straight to conversations that actually matter. ## **How the afternoon flows** We don't leave connection to chance, and there's no awkward mingling. The experience has both guided and more free-flowing phases. * **The Reset:** A casual, low-pressure opening to help everyone drop their city armour and ease into the room. * **The Prompts:** We gather and after some intro exercises each breakaway group size **will not exceed 6 participants**. Using uniquely developed prompt tracks, we bypass any public performance, focusing on unexpected, fun angles that naturally lower your social defences. * **The Present Element:** unless directed otherwise, phones are safely tucked away for the afternoon. For three hours, the digital noise is off so everyone can remain fully present. Instead of the usual loops (*"Yeah, keeping busy..."* or *"Just surviving the week..."*), we create a space to share real perspectives and see people without their professional masks on. ## **The details** * **When:** Sunday 21 June 2026 \| 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm\. Feel free to stay for an optional social after\. * **Where:** A handpicked space in Southwark (exact venue details unlocked immediately upon booking). * 🎟️ **Tickets:** * **Early Bird — £13** *(The Houdini Escape)* * **Standard — £15** *(The Fire Exit Escape)* * **Last Minute — £20** *(The Mr Bean Escape)* ## **What you say** > "I’m completely new to London, but after three hours here I’d already made some great mates—in fact, I still hang out regularly with one of the guys I met." — *Ben* > "It was just a massive relief to escape the humdrum daily routine and talk about something with a bit of depth." — *Jessica* > "The setup was spot on. The questions were actually really fun but still managed to show you who people really are." — *Stephen* ## **Quick Logistics** * **Can I show up solo?** Nearly everyone does. Our facilitation removes that friction the moment you walk through the door so you are brought into the fold right away. * **What's the vibe?** This feels less like an event and more like an intentional conversation among close peers—minus the corporate pitches. * **What if my plans change?** Because spaces are so limited, tickets are non-refundable. You are welcome to gift your spot to a friend—just drop us a line with their name before we kick off. **Show up curious. Leave connected.**

Extensions allow developers to customize the editor with new features, integrations, and workflow improvements tailored to their needs. In this session, we’ll cover what extensions are and the different types available, including full extensions written in TypeScript or JavaScript, along with lighter-weight extensions such as color themes, language packs, language support, code snippets, and keymaps. We’ll also look at practical reasons a developer might create an extension, from automating repetitive tasks to adding custom tooling. The session includes a hands-on walkthrough of creating a new extension, testing it locally, and understanding the basic project structure. We’ll close with a brief overview of how extensions are packaged and published to the Visual Studio Marketplace and other distribution options. **YouTube Link** TBD

This talk shows how you get from raw joints to a "thumbs-up" in Unity: the pipeline that cleans up the data, how a gesture becomes a few 0-to-1 values within tolerance, and why orientation matters as much as finger shape. Includes a live demo of tuning gesture thresholds.
