Hi, all Independent Movie Lovers. You are invited meet at 7 pm, on Friday the 6th of March. This meeting is at the Café on the ground floor of the Light House Cinema, Smithfield Square, Dublin. We will discuss the film: **The Secret Agent** (2025), directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, who won the Best Director award at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival for this movie, The Secret Agent. We will also discuss: **Memento** (2000), directed by Christopher Nolan. We will watch the movies independently, and meet for discussion on Friday the 6th of March, at 7 pm, at the Café on the ground floor of the Light House Cinema, Smithfield Square. **The Secret Agent** is showing at some Dublin cinemas, including the Savoy O'Connell St, and the IFI Eustace St, until Thursday the 26th of February. **Memento** is available for online rental on YouTube, Apple TV and Sky Store. Our free-of-charge meet-up in the Black Sheep Pub on Capel Street. This is a casual meet up for people who want to play boardgames. Lots of people bring plenty of games and rules will always be explained so don't worry if you're new to the hobby and you don't have anything to bring along or think you won't know how to play. The meet-up runs for the whole day but late comers always welcome, you just may have to wait a little for a game to open up but games will be starting and ending throughout the day. **IMPORTANT!** **The meet up is free of charge but we do ask that people support the bar by buying food and/or drink. The bar is very accommodating to us and it's important that we support them in return. The topic for March is "Our Bodies, Ourselves" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience.
