Gay/Bi Men’s Peer Support Group Self-DiscoveryShareDiscuss
**The theme for this our next meeting is:**
Welcome to our friendly and supportive Community.
Where do we meet and really connect with other gay men in London?
We Do in Covent Garden!
# **Theme of the month:**
Personal Growth & Empowerment Developing assertiveness and boundary-setting skills. Practicing vulnerability and authentic expression. Exploring creativity, play, and joy as healing. Gratitude, strengths, and future goals.
**Our discussion themes would always be advertised in advance.**
We are not only changing our name, we will also from now on advertise the topic we’ll be discussing before each meeting, so that you know exactly what to expect before signing up for each particular meeting. Please see the list on our MeetUp profile for potential universal themes relevant to gay/bisexual men, to be covered in our sessions. Ideas are always welcome!
*We offer workshops unlike other gay/bisexual men's therapeautic discussion groups.*
**A Speaker**
We will at times provide a Speaker for our meetings kickstarting interesting and stimulating discussions. The Speaker can be an expert in their field such as for example an author, a therapist or a philosopher but we are welcoming any of our members to be a Speaker or a demonstrator of exercises such as massage, pilates or yoga. Or perhaps you would want to talk about your profession, if you feel it has relevance to our group. You would just have to contact Dan first for a discussion and planning.
**Frequency of meetings / fee**
In 2026 we’ll only have one meeting per month in person at the City Lit College in Covent Garden and one meeting online. If there is a demand for more in person meetings we’ll consider having more. We are happy to confirm that our entry prices won’t be raised and that in person meetings remain at £10. Online meetings will be FREE in January and February after which it will be £5 to attend.
**Walks / museum visits**
We will continue offering our occasional walking trips and also now include gay/bisexual themed history walks and visits to Museums.
WHAT WE ARE:
We are a group of supportive and insightful great men and we are looking forward to including you - this is what we do:
CONNECTING - It is a place where you will be able to connect with other gay and bi-sexual men and where you can exchange your life experiences with them and your everyday feelings, no matter what those feelings may be - and also a place where you will be able to just be with others who live similar lives to you.
EXPLORING SAFELY WITH SUPPORT - It is a place where you will experience support and growth and where you can feel safe enough to explore and reflect your feelings and life stories. Sharing is at the heart of the group but you share however much you are comfortable with - you're in charge.
CREATIVE STATE REGISTERED THERAPY - It is a therapeutic discussion group which at times offers workshops and borrows elements from Creative Arts Psychotherapies. The group is based on the Creative Arts Psychotherapy/Dramatherapy and counselling work I provided ongoing for the charity Positive East in London.

The Tribalheart Sacred Lounge
Please note- New venue
An evening of nourishment for the heart and soul in a sacred haven where we can enjoy, express and feast our senses together.
We will do practices from a medley of modalities that will include Tantra, Meditation, Breathwork, and Bioenergetics. Occasionally we will spice things up and safely explore more shadow themes of conscious kink
Connecting with a range of feelings present in the body and heart, we will release and move energy where needed so we can access the medicine of pleasure in the body, love in the heart and the boundlessness and interconnectedness of our Spirit.
We will always start by tuning in to ourselves and the unique energy of the group on the night. We will learn how to acknowledge and set boundaries for ourselves authentic for each group. From here we can explore connections with others using a variety of guided meditations that invite us on a sensory journey to experience touch, sound, smell, sight and taste. You can participate as much or as little as you feel in each exercise and are always encouraged to honour yourself and your boundaries in the moment.
As with all Tribalheart events we will make space to stretch, move and dance.
The event is open to all levels of experience in Tantra or other conscious connection groups.
We wish to create a space where we can deep dive playfully together, moving through any fears around connection and being seen. This is a clothed event unless otherwise specified but we encourage you to bare your heart and let it shine with an intention and generosity to share your unique self at a level you are comfortable with.
Ceremonial grade Cacao will be served, with gentle aphrodisiacs such like Maca, Ashwagandha, and Damiana. Any foods or beverages served for the main rituals will be organic and high quality.
It is a guided group meditation, so no chit-chatting after the event starts.

Master Night Street photography - A Beginners Guide In Low-Light, Neon & Noir
**Let's Shoot Noir Street Photography in Soho London After Dark**
This mini-workshop event focuses on shooting street photography after dark. You will learn tips for low-light shooting, handheld techniques, and how to creatively use existing city lighting.
Soho after dark has a completely different energy. Neon signage, theatre lights, and passing traffic create natural contrast, cinematic tones, and deep, moody shadows. The location itself becomes part of your frame, adding atmosphere without the need for a flash.
This session focuses on capturing moody, neon-lit street photography using the city’s existing lights. You’ll learn to see, interpret, and use the available light creatively.
Occasionally, a model will be present as a point of focus to help you practice shooting subjects in various real-world night-light conditions.
***
**What You Will Learn**
* **Reading Available Light:** Observe neon signage, street lamps, traffic, and reflections and use them creatively in your shots.
* **Handheld Night Shooting:** Adjust ISO, shutter speed, and aperture for sharp, well-exposed images while shooting handheld.
* **Creative Use of Light on Subjects:** Learn how to make people stand out using the available neon and street lighting.
* **Exposure and Mood Control:** Balance highlights, shadows, and neon to capture the “noir” atmosphere.
* **Quick Observation & Reaction:** Train your eye to spot photo opportunities in challenging night conditions.
* **Getting to Know Your Kit:** Understand what your camera and lenses can do in low light so you can react confidently.
***
**What to Bring**
* **Camera Kit:** A fast lens (prime or zoom, around 35–50mm, f/1.4–f/2.8) is highly recommended for best results at night. You may bring your best lens for practice, but you may struggle more in lower-lit situations. Message me if you want advice on gear before booking.
* **Essentials:** Cleared memory card and fully charged batteries. Extra batteries recommended.
* **Travel Light:** Comfortable shoes and clothing suited to the weather.
***
**Event Info**
* **Duration:** 2 hours
* **Group Size:** Max 5
* **Meeting Location:** Soho, London
***
**Bonus for Members**
* **FREE DOWNLOAD – Beginner Street Photography Tip Sheets:** Master Night Street Photography For Beginners Tip Sheet covering the key topics from this event. You will receive a download link to follow along during the session.
* **FACEBOOK COMMUNITY GROUP:** A private group for Meetup members to showcase their best work, receive critique, advice, and tips.

March Meeting 2 - The Sea of Tranquility (Emily St. John Mandel)
In the Sunday meeting for March, we will read Emily St. John Mandel's sixth novel, 2022 effort *The Sea of Tranquility*. The winner of that year's Goodreads Choice Award for Best Science Fiction, '[it] is a novel that investigates the idea of parallel worlds and possibilities, that plays with the very line along which time should run. Perceptive and poignant about art, and love, and what we must do to survive, it is incredibly compelling.' (Book jacket)
'Another tour de force of imagination and dazzling construction from the author of *Station Eleven* and *The Glass Hotel*, Mandel's audacious time travel novel intertwines the stories of an Edwardian exile in British Columbia and an Earth-hopping writer two centuries later.'
-Waterstones

The meeting will take place at The New Moon in Leadenhall Market. So come along for some classic pub food as we dive into this fascinating book!
N.B. We will be charging an event fee of £3, non-refundable, to discourage no-shows and contribute to the running costs of the group. Please only sign up if you intend to come along as space is limited to make for an effective discussion!

Humanist Program
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.
We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change. Unchained At Last's mission clearly meshes and addresses several of our Humanist Ten Commitments. Becca will educate us about an issue many of us may not be familiar with--but should be.
Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk.
Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. You can meet us in-person or attend online

How LLMs Like ChatGPT Actually Work and How to Build With Them
**First meetup of the Columbus AI Engineering group.**
We’ll kick things off with a practical, beginner-friendly discussion on:
**How LLMs like ChatGPT actually work — and how to build real applications with them.**
We’ll cover:
* what’s actually happening under the hood (at a high level)
* why LLMs behave the way they do (hallucinations, prompt sensitivity, etc.)
* how people are building real systems with them today
* where things break in practice
This will be a **short, informal talk (\~15–20 min)** followed by open discussion and Q&A.
Whether you’re an engineer, builder, or just curious about how modern AI systems work, you’re welcome to join.
No slides, no fluff — just real conversation about real systems.
We’ll hang out afterward and get to know each other.

Connected Westerville Night of Networking!
**Connected Westerville Night of Networking** *April Edition: The Introduction Economy*
You've been to the networking events. You've done the small talk. Collected the cards. Forgotten the names. And walked out feeling like you just wasted two hours of your life.
The problem isn't you. It's the format.
Most networking events put you in a room and tell you to figure it out. So everyone defaults to elevator pitches and business talk, and nothing real gets built.
Here's the truth about networking that most people miss: Your network isn't just who you know. It's who thinks of you when they're talking to someone else.
*That's* The Introduction Economy. And it only works when relationships are real.
There's a reason people who come once keep coming back. It starts with seven minutes that feel nothing like networking.
Then we open it up. Free networking. More conversations. More momentum.
This is a room full of corporate professionals, entrepreneurs, business owners, creatives, and career builders in the Westerville and Columbus area. The mix is the magic.
You might never do business with everyone you meet tonight. But someone in this room will think of *you.* **By name**. So, the next time someone needs exactly what you do, you get the recommendation.
**April 14th. RSVP now.**
**When:** Tuesday\, April 14th \| 6:15 PM \-\- 8:00 PM **Where:** Vineyard Community Center \| 6000 Cooper Rd\, Westerville\, OH 43081
