It is Sunday again! So it is time for us to gather at Bastard Cafe playing games, enjoying a good drink, and having fun in the lovely atmosphere of the Cafe. Everybody is welcome, whether you are new to board games or you are an experienced player. We play everything from Codenames, Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, The Resistance, Secret Hitler to more medium-long games like Terraforming Mars, Pandemic, Power Grid, 7 Wonders and Catan. This Recipe Sharing Club pre-holiday event is about baking traditional Christmas gingerbread cookies from scratch. Using an old family recipe and lots of hygge. We'll be grinding spices, caramelizing sugar, kneading, rolling, cutting into festive shapes, and decorating the cookies together. Everyone is welcome to bring along any shape of cookie cutters they may have. Also, it would be nice if someone has a mortar and pestle to grind the spices, but worst case scenario, we can use a coffee mill. We can do it all while drinking gløgg or tea and snacking on some Danish Christmas stuff like æbleskiver, so please use the comment section in here so that we can see if anyone is interested in bringing anything to the event! We can figure out what the expenses will be by dividing the cost among us.

That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
