Run+B-fast
Hi Running fellows,
Whether you’re a walker, new to running, a semi-pro, a marathonist or a sprint star - if you want to start your weekend in an active way and enjoy the outdoors in lovely surroundings with a fun, international and multilingual group of people, you are welcome to join us!
Every Saturday at 9:30 am, we meet, we run, in the magnificent Schönbrunn park, and then we go for breakfast.
Want to discuss politics or the best recipes for banana pancakes? Not a problem. Not feeling social? Tune out with your earbuds - we can talk over breakfast. We are casual. You can be too.
What to expect: Start by meeting Adrian, Ali, Liz, Paul and Sonia on-time at 9:30am outside the Schönbrunn U-Bahn stop (exit Grünbergstraße). (Coordinates: 48.1858130, 16.3200640) From there, we walk to the side park entrance where the “running” part begins. The important thing is that you run at your own pace. Typically, small groups of people will run at the same pace as you, so you never have to walk/run alone :)
We finish one hour later, at about 10:40am, reconvening just inside the Hietzinger Tor exit. (Coordinates: 48.1858825, 16.3032647). From there, we’re off to breakfast!
Breakfast Details: Anker bakery opposite the U4 Hietzing station and depending on the weather, grab something for a picnic in Schönbrunn park, or hang out in the bakery. If you missed us earlier, you can always go there around 10:45.
We are a fun group of runners who don’t take things too seriously. We meet, chat, RUN, stretch, chat, EAT and we hang out over a beer every now and then. It's that easy. Please join us for breakfast after the run! The more the merrier.
Typically we are 10-30 people, as not everyone who comes signs up on meetup.
Important disclaimer: Please only run as much as you feel you can, considering the temperature, weather conditions, your own fitness etc... run and walk at your own pace as the organizers do not assume any liability for any injuries or health issues. Sonia, Adrian, Ali, Paul and Liz

A quietly powerful and often darkly humorous film by Elia Suleiman.
Told in four chapters spanning from 1948 to the present, the film blends personal family history with the broader story of Palestine, using deadpan humor, stillness, and sharp observation.
Poetic, political, and deeply human.
IMDb: 7.3/10 – Runtime: 1h 49m.
🍽️ Post Meetup Food at China Zentrum Stiegengasse! 😁😁
If you just joined, please fill up this survey so we can better tailor the films we show. [https://forms.gle/juPwhehSV2NosLee9](https://forms.gle/juPwhehSV2NosLee9)
PS - I can guarantee comfortable seating for 15 people. People in the waitlist can show up as well, although the seating might not be the most comfortable.
The event takes place at the Social Welfare organization called **MUT**. It is an organisation that works on social issues such as Emergency & Homeless Assistance, Food Rescue and Environment Protection. MUT is a non profit organization that provides us with the space to host the event. A small donation towards their cause helps them a lot.

Tango Argentino Basics Course
A grounded, embodied approach to Tango Argentino for beginners building foundations and improvers seeking clarity, depth, and freedom.
**Every Sunday (except during our Tango Immersion Weekends), we explore the essentials of Tango Argentino from a mindful, embodied approach. Focusing not only on what to do, but on how and why we move the way we do in this dance.**
✨ No previous experience required, just curiosity to work with essential principles that allow you to understand the Tango Argentino language sooner, and adapt easier to real social dance situations.
✨ Experienced dancers refine technique and efficiency of their movements.
✨ **You can come with or without a dance partner**, and learn the role(s) of your choice (Jessica encourages to learn both).
✨ **Each class is followed by our Focused Práctica**, a guided practice gathering for all levels, where you can take time to socialize and integrate what you learned, ask questions, receive feedback, and practice in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Young students and people with limited income can request a 20-30% partial scholarship via email or in person.
PS. This course doesn't include classes on March 8th and April 19th because of Jessica's [Tango Immersion](https://www.jessicagerdel.com/tangoimmersion) Weekends. She'll guide you on which workshops are suitable for beginners if you want to join us those weekends too.
**Teaching approach**
Spoiler alert: This is not about copying and memorizing steps.
Jessica's teaching focus is on body awareness, connection, and developing good habits from the start — so what you learn works in real social dance situations and truly supports your dance in the long term.

Perfection by Vincenzo Latronico
Millennial expat couple Anna and Tom are living the dream in Berlin, in a bright, plant-filled apartment in Neukölln. They are young digital creatives, freelancers without too many constraints. They have a passion for food, progressive politics, sexual experimentation and Berlin's twenty-four-hour party scene. Their ideal existence is also that of an entire generation, lived out on Instagram, but outside the images they create for themselves, dissatisfaction and ennui burgeon. Their work as graphic designers becomes repetitive. Friends move back home, have children, grow up. An attempt at political activism during the refugee crisis proves fruitless. And in that picture-perfect life Anna and Tom feel increasingly trapped, yearning for an authenticity and a sense of purpose that seem perennially just out of their grasp. With the stylistic mastery of Georges Perec and nihilism of Michel Houellebecq, Perfection, translated by Sophie Hughes, is a sociological novel about the emptiness of contemporary existence, beautifully written, brilliantly scathing.

Hike to Troppbergwarte Sun 22.03.2026
Hi everyone!
On **Sunday, March 22nd**, 2026, I am planning a long hike to the Troppbergwarte in the Wienerwald. The Troppbergwarte (542m) is a publicly accessible lookout tower. It’s a bit scary as you can see trough the steps down. If more than 10 people want to go to the lookout, then we have to form two groups, because a maximum of 10 people are allowed at the same time and we don't want to tear down the lookout tower. The hiking route will start at Rekawinkel train station and leads through slightly hilly forest in the Wienerwald and will end at the train station in Purkersdorf.
**Meeting Point & Travel**
We will meet at **Wien-Westbahnhof train station at 08:40 am at the latest** near the Infopoint. We will go to platform 4 at 8:45 am There is ticketmachine nearby and plenty of seats (see also the photo down below). The train leaves at 8:56 am at platform 4. If it’s better for you, you can also get on the train at another station. Then we meet altogether at Rekawinkel train station at 9:31 am. As Rekawinkel train station is not so far from Vienna a group ticket does not pay off. So **everyone has to buy their own ticket to Rekawinkel train station.**
**Hike Details**
Duration: approx. **6,5 hours** (walking time and breaks)
Distance: approx. **17km**
Elevation: **530 m up / 650 m down**
Difficulty: **Technically easy**, but **basic fitness required**
Since we will not stop at any restaurant, everyone has to bring their own snack. We will make a few breaks for eating and drinking. A long 30 break minute is planed after three hours at about 12:30 at the lookout tower. Be aware, that there are no public toiletts on the way. Please be aware that there are no public toilets on the entire hiking route. So if you need to answer the call of nature and you think you have found a suitable spot, the group will advance for a few minutes and then wait for you or you can use the breaks to make your way into the forest. The expected end of the hike is at about 4 pm at Purkersdorf Zentrum train station, where there is also a ticket vending machine. There are trains bound to Wien Westbahnhof every 10 to 20 minutes.
More information about the trail: [https://www.bergfex.at/sommer/niederoesterreich/touren/wanderung/390122,rekawinkel--troppberg--hochramalpe--purkersdorf/](https://www.bergfex.at/sommer/niederoesterreich/touren/wanderung/390122,rekawinkel--troppberg--hochramalpe--purkersdorf/)
**Group Pace & Staying Togehter**
We will walk at a comfortable group pace and take short breaks when needed.
**Practical notes**
I will send you a weather update on Thursday March 19th evening to everyone who is registered.
**Please bring:**
* Sturdy hiking shoes
* Layered clothing
* At least 1,5 liter of water
* Your own snacks (no restaurant stop is planned)
**Disclaimer**
As always, this is a free private leisure activity.
I am not a certified hiking guide, and participation is at your own responsibility and risk.
Looking forward to seeing you on the trail!

In Person Event: The Secrets to Mental Health
Mental Health, how do you understand it? How can you improve it?
How do you get rid of stress, anxiety and uncertainty? These emotions are buried deep in your reactive mind. Find out what the reactive mind is, and in the process find yourself.
Have you ever suffered from a traumatic experience, a deep loss or been through a painful breakup? Has your ability to communicate suffered as a result? And after that, even though you "moved on" did you find that things were never quite the same? Have you ever looked at childhood photos, or reminisced your early life and wondered where that happiness and spark went?
Are your emotions out of your own control? Have you ever felt, even if you aren’t aware of it, that possibly you are getting in your own way of your happiness and success? How does this affect your self-confidence?
Find out what is at the root of all stress, anxiety, depression and self-doubt. Find out how and why you hold yourself back from achieving your goals and having the life you have dreamed of. As soon as you learn what is at the root of these unwanted conditions, you’ll see it is something you can DO something about. You will not be labeled or categorized at this MeetUp.
This group is hosted by the Dianetics and Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.
From Web Forms to Web Components - Burton Smith
**Important time note:** Please plan on arriving between 5:30 and 6:00 as the elevators lock after 6 and you'll need to message us and we'll need to come get you.
The building address is 4450 Bridge Park
The entrance is 6620 Mooney St, Suite 400
**Abstract**
Web Forms gave .NET developers a powerful abstraction for building reusable UI controls long before design systems were a thing. Web Components finally bring that same idea to the browser natively.
This session explores how the Web Forms mindset translates into Custom Elements, Shadow DOM, and HTML templates. We’ll examine how Web Components enable design systems that work across frameworks, how they differ from server‑driven controls, and why they’re becoming a foundational layer for modern UI. Whether you’re maintaining legacy apps or building greenfield projects, you’ll leave with a practical understanding of how to apply familiar patterns in a modern, standards‑based way.
