Many experts believe **Artificial General Intelligence (AGI)** — AI that could outperform humans in most intellectual tasks — may emerge within decades, or possibly sooner. This raises important questions: * Could AGI bring major scientific progress and prosperity? * What risks might arise if powerful AI systems are not aligned with human values? * How should society prepare for such transformative technologies?
