🌸🌳Cherry Blossoms In High Park with light walk! 🌸🌳
🌸🌳Cherry Blossoms In High Park with light walk! 🌸🌳
🌸🌳 **CHERRY BLOSSOMS IN HIGH PARK WALK** 🌳🌸 Spring Blooms, Early Morning Magic & A Park in Full Colour This is one of those events where timing is everything. For a short window each spring, High Park transforms into one of the most beautiful spots in the city — with cherry blossoms in full bloom and people coming from everywhere to see them. And yes… it gets *busy*. That’s why we’re going early. The cherry trees in High Park were originally gifted in 1959 by the citizens of Tokyo, through Ambassador Toru-Hagiwara, as a symbol of friendship and appreciation. Many were planted along the hillside near Grenadier Pond, and over time, the display has grown into the iconic spring event we know today. This is not a formal tour. It’s a social walk — a chance to experience the blossoms, take photos, and enjoy the park together. 📲 **Join Our WhatsApp Group:**[ Click here to join](https://chat.whatsapp.com/DRFTkxRlHS4B3IL1lMleUd) \*\*\* 🚶‍♂️ **What We’ll Do** We’ll meet at the entrance and head straight toward the three main cherry blossom areas, stopping briefly at each so everyone has time to take photos and enjoy the views. After the blossoms, we’ll continue on a relaxed walk through the park, passing by the zoo and looping our way back to where we started. This is a lighter walk overall, but there *are hills*, so be prepared for a bit of a workout. \*\*\* 🌦️ Weather & Expectations This event will happen in typical spring conditions — sun, wind, or light rain. As long as it’s not extreme weather, we’ll be going ahead. 🌸 **IMPORTANT:** Cherry blossom timing can change depending on the season. If needed, this event may be moved to another date to catch peak bloom. Please keep an eye on updates. Dress in layers and wear good walking shoes. Also — this is NOT a guided or historical tour. I’ll share context casually, but the focus is on enjoying the experience together. \*\*\* 🚫 Getting There **DO NOT DRIVE TO THIS EVENT.** Parking in the area will be extremely limited or unavailable. It is strongly recommended to take public transit and meet at High Park Station. \*\*\* 🧢 Meetup Details 📍 Meetup Location: High Park sign (west side at Bloor & High Park Ave) 🫎 I’ll be wearing my Moose Hat ⏰ Meetup Time: 9:00 AM I will only wait 5 minutes. Early is on time. On time is late. We’ll head in promptly to beat the crowds. End Point: Back at the starting location \*\*\* 🎟️ Meetup Fee: $5 cash in person or e-transfer to 📧 \*\*[mathewmaclean@hotmail.com**](http://mathewmaclean@hotmail.com%2A%2A/) This helps support the group and allows us to keep hosting events like this. Thank you for supporting community! 💖 \*\*\* 🎒 What to Bring Water Good walking shoes (hills!) Camera or phone for photos 📸 Weather-appropriate clothing (layers + spring-ready 🌸) Please also use the washroom before arriving, as stops are limited early on. \*\*\* 🌈 Who Is This For? This group is open to anyone who wants to be social and make friends — whether single or not. We also host: 🎬 Movies 🚶 Walks & hikes 🎭 Arts & culture outings 🍽️ Restaurant gatherings There’s always something happening. \*\*\* REMEMBER: You’re welcome to just show up on the day if you’re unsure about your schedule. And as always, sometimes plans shift and events may need to be canceled — please keep an eye on updates. \*\*\* 👤 Organizer: Mathew Questions? Post on the event wall or email 📧 [torontomoviesandoutings@hotmail.com](mailto:torontomoviesandoutings@hotmail.com) Come for the blossoms. Stay for the walk. Leave feeling like you caught one of Toronto’s most beautiful moments — right when it blooms. 🌸✨

Kipling industrial eats (Jane's Walk, 2.4 km)
Kipling industrial eats (Jane's Walk, 2.4 km)
Once a year, we do a walking tour. **No need to RSVP. Just show up on the day of the walk.** All great food cities have good food lurking in industrial areas and Toronto is no exception. The expanse south of Kipling station is dotted with cheese outlets, food markets, bakeries, and delis. The most famous being a German bread factory. A reflection of the multicultural character of the city, one can find food spanning the Balkans, Baltics, Central Europe, and Eastern Europe. There will be limited time to browse these places. You can always return to any of them after the walk. Come hungry, explore these hidden gems, and share your food recommendations with the group. This walk * is not a hike * does not return to the start point * is 3.5 km/h with multiple stops * starts punctually * is suitable for all ages * is **not** fully wheelchair accessible. Sweet Gallery is only accessible by stairs. You don't have to visit there to complete the walk. * welcomes pets but businesses may not * does not receive any benefits from the featured businesses **Map** [https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1JhrOoDmCtwNbfTHhnPNcPrEOttlqsZ4&usp=sharing](https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1JhrOoDmCtwNbfTHhnPNcPrEOttlqsZ4&usp=sharing)

Late night North York Centre food crawl (Jane's Walk, 2.6 km)
Once a year, we do a walking tour. **No need to RSVP. Just show up on the day of the walk.** North York Centre is one of the few late night food neighbourhoods in Toronto. Yonge Street between Sheppard and Steeles Ave is lined with Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and Persian eateries. Many stay open past 10 pm. In this walk, we'll look at the urban forces that shaped the food scene here. Why the concentration along Yonge St? Why just East Asian and Persian food? How did we end up with twelve bubble tea stalls in one block? It's a story sixty years in the making. This walk is just as much about food as it is about urbanism. We'll explore the block of Yonge and Byng where new restaurants sprout up all the time and stop by some food halls. Participants are encouraged to share their own experiences. Which restaurants would you recommend and why? The walk ends at Finch station. If you're hungry, you can backtrack to the restaurants along the route or continue north for Korean food and a 24h Persian supermarket. This walk * is not a hike * is 3.5 km/h with multiple stops * starts punctually * is a gentle uphill * is suitable for all ages * welcomes pets but businesses may not * does not receive any benefits from the featured businesses **Map** [https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=14cPoD5Y2sKtSJdlEYHZHMKcPfIIGOlY&usp=sharing](https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=14cPoD5Y2sKtSJdlEYHZHMKcPfIIGOlY&usp=sharing)

🌸🌳 **CHERRY BLOSSOMS IN HIGH PARK WALK + LUNCH** 🌳🌸 **Spring Blooms, Busy Energy & A Tavern Finish** If the early morning version felt a little too ambitious… this one’s for you. Mindful Photography Walk – A Gentle Pause in Nature
Join me for a small, mindful photography walk in nature. (**NOTE Time is 9:00 AM EST(Meetup is having technical Issue))** This is a slow, intentional gathering — not focused on fitness or perfect photography — but on simply pausing, observing, and being present. We’ll walk at a gentle pace, with moments of quiet, and a few light prompts to help you notice details you might normally miss. 📷 You don’t need any photography experience — a phone camera is enough. This is also not a business networking event. It’s a calm space to connect with nature and, if it feels natural, with like-minded people. 🌿 What to expect: • A slow-paced, relaxed walk • Moments of silence and observation • Simple reflection prompts 📍 Location: [ Red Trabue Nature Preserve] ⏱ Duration: \~60 minutes This is a small, initial gathering as I begin creating this space through WellGratiVibes — a blend of mindfulness, nature, and quiet connection. Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
[The Board Walks](http://www.theboardwalks.com/) are for curious people who love deep conversations. If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!). **HOW IT WORKS** **Step 1: Bring a topic** Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event. **Step 2: Circle up & share** We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds. **Step 3: Walk, talk & float** We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!" **Step 4: Feel more alive** Two hours flies by. You're back where you started — but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times. *For more details, read our [Orientation Guide.](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation)* **HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC** A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about. Recent topics include: * "What are you passionate about right now?" * "What makes a good friend?" * "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?" * "How do you want to be remembered?" * "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?" Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter. **WHAT TO EXPECT** This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together, beyond small talk. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.* But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here. **FAQ** * Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk! * We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space. * We welcome people of **all** ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space. * Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know. * Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are welcome — please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic! **LOGISTICS** * If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event. * This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). This format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs. * Read our [Orientation Guide](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation) for full details. * If you enjoy the event, send **[this](http://www.theboardwalks.com/)** to a friend or sign up for our **[newsletter](https://theboardwalks.beehiiv.com/)**. We're in multiple cities with more on the way. 🤠👋 **IF YOU WANT TO GO DEEPER...** [The Board](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board) is the next step: a high-trust collective for renaissance people devoted to creating, connecting, and building lives that light us up. * This is a global HQ for people who crave big talk, deep connection, and dream collaborations with people across industries. If the walks feel like a spark... The Board is the fire. Apply [here](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board).
