Drum Circle

Whether you have never drummed before, a beginner, or a skilled drummer, the workshop is open to all. We have such fun and play gigs in and around London as well as Penge. Gigs include local community events/festivals, support charities at the London Marathon or Royals Parks Run, fundraisers, and wider festivals. We also play with our associated group ,Tribo, from West London, where you have a chance to play at the Notting Hill Carnival every year. Come, join in some Brazilian vibes, and develop drumming skills you didn't know you had! First session FREE and £12.50 per session after. It's a drop in so no pressure. A most wonderful 8 mile circular walk by this lovely Surrey village that takes in Oxshott Heath, Esher Common and a section of the River Mole as well as delightfully named Lardy Pond ! We shall buy group train tickets for the train at 10.33am that arrives at Oxshott at 11.08am. Train ticket : Return to Oxshott Or you may decide to drive. Please bring packed lunch, water, snacks etc plus waterproof jacket and walking shoes/boots/trainers. The walk shall start by 11.15am. You should be able to walk 2.5 miles per hour and have adequate and appropriate insurance for this type of activity. Meetup fee £5 payable in cash or in advance by bank transfer. Come join us in the woods, for a Pagan Picnic & drumming Social.. . * Bring your own picnic - perhaps some food & drinks to share. * Bring any musical instruments /talents you have (or just attend). * Dress up in capes, cloaks and colours (or just everyday clothing). Bring drums and other acoustic musical / percussion instruments and join in with our drumming, singing and chanting - that will take place on and off, as participants see fit. If you know of pagan chants and songs, feel free to come and teach it to us or just take the spot light and sing ...(and we can give you some drumming accompaniment as backdrop). There are logs to sit on. But you may like to bring your own ground sheet or blanket or cushion for extra comfort. \*\*FREE EVENT\*\* Central clearing, Queen's Woods, (Tube: HighGate on Northern line). Please observe woodland safety. Together, we'll create uplifting and positive vibrations through the power of drums and percussion instruments, sharing in the joy of making music in a friendly and inclusive environment. Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this drumming session is open to all. You'll have the opportunity to learn Djembe and Dundun drum rhythms and playing techniques. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude.
