They draw their inspiration from a wide variety of artists and genres and write electro acoustic music that pushes the boundaries of their instruments. The harp features prominently in performances, and Ben uses effects processors to take the harp from it's regular, classical sound, to a rock guitar through distortion, an ambient synth through delays and phasers, and much more. Combined with innovative percussion and groovy bass riffs it all goes to creating a totally unique blend of Jazz Fusion.** **Biog - Chube was set up by Ben Creighton Griffiths (Harp, Keys) and Matt Williams (Drums, Engineering) in 2015. They wrote their first tracks in 2016 before being joined by Aeddan Williams on bass for the recording of their first EP in summer 2017, before releasing it at an exclusive launch show at Tiny Rebel Cardiff in 2018. Since then the project has gone from strength to strength. After the Covid pandemic Ben was joined by Ashley John Long on bass and Jon Bradford Jones on drums, whilst Matt remains with the group as a producer and engineer. Cameron Saint (RWCMD and RAM) regularly takes on bass duties when Ashley is unavailable.** **Chube has performed at a number of festivals including the Brecon Jazz Festival, In It Together Festival, Harp on Wight, Aberjazz, Croftfest. and Wall2Wall Jazz Festivals - giving a unique recital with special guest Dennis Rollins MBE on trombone at the latter. In 2025 they gave their European debut at the Stellae Matutinae European Harp Symposium in Feldkirch, Austria. In the UK they have performed at many jazz clubs including Pizza Express Jazz Club Soho, Black Mountain Jazz Club, Matt & Phred's Jazz Club Manchester, Music Spoken Here Club Worcester, Karamel Club London and Phoenix Foundry Jazz Club Stroud. The MILDMAY CLUB, Newington Green Hackney based publisher, Indie Novella, are hosting a monthly in-person Writing Group in Stoke Newington, London. This is open for anyone working on a novel who is looking for a supportive group to provide advice and help to take it forward, be it if you’re struggling with writer’s block or you’re looking to submit to a literary agent and want to bounce around some ideas. The format will be in two parts. The first hour will be led by Indie Novella editor and author, Damien Mosley, focusing on a specific writing related topic. The first week at the Mildmay Club this will be the challenges of structuring our novel and we can discuss issues we face regarding plotting or where to begin or share examples which inspire us. The second hour each month will be dedicated to peer reviewing a sample of our writing. Authors Rose Diell and John McMenemie spoke of the importance of Writing Circles in helping writers develop at Stoke Newington Literary Festival and as such we hope this monthly space will allow writers to convene and share their experiences. Radical Faeries and Queer Spirits gather in south London just before the Virgo full moon, the last full moon of winter! This month we celebrate London's gay history - and specifically the spirit of the Mollies: 300 years ago London's queer subculture was already developing (and maybe had been for much longer). In February 1726 London's molly houses were raided, mollies arrested, tried and 3 men were sent to the gallows. Mother Clap's molly house in Holborn was one of several establishments raided after an undercover surveillance operation by members of the Society for the Reformation of Manners, which had been exposing the existence of mollies since the start of the century - describing a scene that was already well formed: groups of men met regularly at molly ‘clubs’ where they used ‘maiden’ nicknames for one another, danced together, camped it up, sometimes dressed in drag on special ‘festival nights’, and had a specialized molly slang. "Most of the sodomites convicted from 1698 through 1709 were entrapped due to the zeal of one man, Rev William Bray, the leading organizer of the Society for the Reformation of Manners. Most of the raids on molly houses through the 1720s were lead by six members of the Society who infiltrated the molly houses. The founding leaders of the Societies, such as Rev Bray, were dead by 1730, and due to a financial scandal the Societies formally disbanded in 1738. Relatively little is known about the queer subculture after that date: not because queers went underground, but because specific groups of moral reformers no longer worked actively to reveal them." Circling is a 'present moment relating' practice, sometimes described as a relational meditation. It’s done in a group or with another person and invites feeling into the subtleties of one’s present experience in connection with others, often using words to share that experience. **There is a beauty and power in the practice of circling and it is not for everyone. The practice may touch on some uncomfortable places, states, sensations or emotions. Circling invites a level of self responsibility and a willingness to set appropriate boundaries. In collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes and guitarist [Maria Camahort](https://mariacamahort.com/perfil/), Tuned In London presents a special fundraising tribute to London’s late great guitarist and percussionist Pablo Domínguez from Cadiz, featuring his fellow musicians, his friends and family: [Iberian Colours](https://mariacamahort.com/mcq-iberian-colours/), a quintet project sprung from a multi-genre collaboration of Spanish musicians who seek to bring to classical Chamber Music inspiration from the vivid colours, rhythms and textures of Spanish musical art and traditions. Award-winning guitar (Maria Camahort), soprano (Laura Ruhí-Vidal), cello (Sergio Serra), violin (Violeta García) and Pablo Domínguez' percussion (Demi García Sabat) come together to create something of great charisma and personality. Their set will include the première of a piece composed for Pablo. [Javier Ruibal](https://www.javierruibal.com/), exceptional singer songwriter, composer, poet and writer, awarded the Premio Nacional de las Músicas Actuales 2017, collaborator and neighbour of Pablo, who has performed at Ronnie Scott's, WOMAD and the Union Chapel, will be bringing us his stunning voice and guitar, his deeply moving poetry, melodies and lyricism. Our special guest, [Chano Domínguez](https://chanodominguez.com/), father of Pablo, is an acclaimed and much-garlanded composer and pianist who brings a fusion of jazz and flamenco to his world-renowned innovative playing. On February 3rd, 2025, guitarist and percussionist Pablo Domínguez (Cádiz, Spain) passed away as a result of a serious illness. One year later, his presence is still deeply felt in Spain, here in the UK and across the world, and this concert stands as a tribute to his genuine spirit and singular musical voice. City Hope Church is the venue in which he performed the last of his seven Tuned In London concerts. This will be VERY SPECIAL... we will celebrate Pablo in the company of his friends, his family and his fellow musicians. Do come, do tell your friends about it... Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THAT’s Contra Dancing! Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor. Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
