The Lost areas around Walthamstow and The River Lea
Hi all, cost and info below. Please join everyone for a stunning 3.5 mile or 5.5 mile beautiful linear walk. A lovely walk with a wonderful river walk, wetlands, gorgeous views and brief history combined. Some amazing highlights on the walk include the first place the motor car was invented, built and driven in the UK, see where the first recorded airplane flight took place in the UK too nearby!
The modern bicycle was invented in Walthamstow too (not on this walk), We visit an old pumphouse with a restaurant in an underground train carriage! Visit an old mill with a wonderful view, have a break with a wonderful cafe in an old engine room! See the Walthamstow Wetlands and a lovely walk along the River Lee.
Please maybe bring a coat to keep warm, it can get very windy up on the wetlands. You also have the option to choose the lower path which is not so windy, but with fewer views in places.
Includes 20 mins stop at the pumphouse at 2 miles, 10 mins at Copper Mill and a stop at a waterside cafe for about 30 mins at 3 miles for refreshments and facilities.
***3.5 mile*** You will make you own easy way to Tottenham Hale Underground Station (Victoria Line) (Please note: First Flying Plane and River Lea not on this walk
***5.5 mile*** ends at Clapton (Overground Line) Station

ABOUT OUR SECRET LONDON WALKS
It is a 15-year fascinating journey together to explore the whole of beautiful, enchanting Secret London. The only walking group in the World offering this unique experience!
The individual walks have been created from an original route several miles in length (usually on average about 25 miles) where we have checked every nook and cranny, every hidden alleyway, lane, lost cobbled path, cul de sac, avenue, road or street in that area for you! It is then shortened, to give back to you a magical walk with all the best bits of 'Lovely London', voted the best City in the World for the 10th year running!
What is given back to you is the most scenic, healthy walk (usually 3-6 miles in length) with some of the walks containing hidden cobbled lanes, lost shops, secret gems, areas lost in time, wonderful views, idyllic Instagram photo shots and all sorts! Now and then some brief local info is mentioned or something of historical importance along the way.
You will have plenty of time to chat and meet new friends whilst walking the amazing lost areas of London! So we welcome you to the colourful highlights of this fascinating City of London with simply wonderful things to see!

'Charlie Chaplin' Guided Walk (free for Full Members!)
Come along on Sunday 5th April at 1:30pm for a guided walk around Kennington on the early life of the comic genius; Charlie Chaplin!
I'm a massive fan of Charlie Chaplin, so I'll be the guide for the walk.
**About the walk**
Charlie Chaplin was British and kept British citizenship all his life, even though he spent most of his adult life in America.
He was born in Kennington, London on the 16th April 1889 and lived their until he was 21. He was born into and spent his early years in great poverty in (at the time) one of the poorest areas of London. As a teenager he joined a performing group in nearby Brixton and during a tour of the U.S was spotted performing by a scout for Sennett Studios, they signed him up and the rest is history! He went on to star in 81 films mainly during the silent era and playing his 'Little Tramp' character in 76 of them.
His life is a classic rags to riches story and in his films he was heavily influenced by his poor upbringing. I will guide you round the streets telling his story, visiting various places that influenced him, the houses where he lived as a child and describing the conditions of the area in late Victorian London. I will tell you the story of his relationships with his mentally ill mother, alcoholic father and the close bond he had with his half brother Sydney. Plus I will also talk about his stage understudy who also went onto become a world famous movie comedian.
You don't need to be a fan of Chaplin, just like a good story!
I will finish the walk showing you the place where he learnt his famous comedy walk!
**Cost**
Full Members of the group will be free, everyone else the cost is £7 per person (payable by cash, credit card, PayPal or Bank Transfer on the day).

The pub is also connected to Chaplin & his family and contains a piano that was played on by Charlie and his father.
The walk will last about 1h 45mins and will end about a 15 minute walk from Vauxhall Tube Station or a 10 minute walk back to Kennington Tube Station.

Easter Appeal
I’m proud to be a Co-ordinator for **Golden Hearted UK**, and this Easter we’re coming together to spread kindness where it’s needed most.
Last year was such a success that we are organising another special **Easter Appeal** to support vulnerable children and elderly members of our community who may otherwise go without a little seasonal joy. For many, Easter can be a difficult and lonely time. With your help, we can change that.
### 💛 How You Can Help:
\- JOIN our facebook community \- https://www\.facebook\.com/groups/703270807162286/
* Donate Easter eggs or sweet treats
* Contribute essential food items
* Gift small care packages for elderly residents
* Offer monetary donations via our registered paypal account (every pound makes a difference)
* Buy items from the Amazon Wishlist
* Volunteer your time to help us prepare and distribute donations
Our goal is simple: **bring smiles, comfort, and a sense of community to those who need it most.**
Whether you can give a little or a lot, your support truly matters. Together, we can show what a golden-hearted community looks like.
If you’d like to donate, volunteer, or learn more, please get in touch. Let’s make this Easter brighter for our children and our elderly neighbours.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity 💛
The FINAL date we are collecting donations may vary but will be before Easter. All contributions are welcome xx

**NOTICE of RISKS applicable for all walks:**
Please dress appropriately for weather and terrain conditions.
Only wear good sturdy shoes, with ankle support, and carry a bottle of water and necessary medication. You need to be moderately fit for this walk and able to walk for at least 8 miles. This walk is suitable for the average experienced hill walker. Expect some hills. Do not attend this walk if you do not fit that description or if you have a medical condition (especially heart and/or lung conditions) that may impact upon your capability of completing the walk.
These walks are city walks and countryside walks where all the usual risks of injury during such walks apply resulting from interactions with road traffic, joggers, cyclists, e-scooters,other members of the public, animals (farm, domestic and wild), plants (allergic reactions), uneven surfaces, including portruding tree roots and potholes and there may be low overhanging branches.
In these walks we cross busy roads, use towpaths alongside water, bridlepaths, country lanes and sometimes ill defined paths and tracks through woodland, bush and countryside. Some tracks may be muddy and slippery, and conditions may be wet and icy. The walk leader is not and does not purport to be a professional guide, or a medical professional, but is instead a like minded individual who also enjoys hill walking and who is familiar with the intended route.
Do not attend this walk unless you accept and consent to the above risks. If you require insurance for these walks then you must arrange this yourself.

London Climbing Session for Mental Health
**Start climbing into a positive space.**
We are back on Sunday 5th April for our London peer-to-peer support session. Facilitated by our lovely volunteers, we will be meeting in the cafe area of Rise Climbing by 12.30pm.
Sessions are 2 hours long and are open to everyone, whether you climb often or would like to try for the first time.
Follow [this link](https://circularclimbingcollective.co.uk/booking/) and scroll down to our London sessions to book a space!
**What is Circular Climbing Collective?**
CCC is a climbing collective that focuses on mental health peer support. Our aim is to create non-judgemental spaces where climbers and non-climbers can connect, share and listen to better understand their mental health.
**Cost & Booking**
\- No extra cost to join CCC sessions
\- Use your Rise membership or pay for single entry \(£14 standard\, £10\.50 concession\)
\- CCC provides two funded free spaces at each session for those in need of financial assistance\, just send us a message
\- Free shoe hire included with entry
\- Sessions capped at 8 attendees\, please book in advance
* [Link to book](https://circularclimbingcollective.co.uk/booking/)
**What to expect**
Our sessions are led by 2 volunteer facilitators, Noa and Josh, and capped at 8 attendees. We ask everyone to attend the session from start to finish, 12:30pm - 2:30pm.
We start our sessions with a warm-up for the mind and for the body, where we introduce the space, our guidelines and ourselves. We then head out into the gym to climb, wander and talk. We have no expectations of participants to climb or share, just to be present with one another.
Some weeks are packed with conversation but maybe lack time on the wall or vice versa. Finally, we finish up with a warm down - stretching and checking in with ourselves and each other. We sometimes use this time to practice gratitude or reflect on our paths ahead.
**Who can attend**
Our sessions are open to anyone aged 18+, no matter where you are on your journey with mental health or how much climbing experience you have. Whether you've simply never climbed before and are looking to meet new people in an inclusive space, or are struggling with self-esteem, grief, loneliness, unemployment or anything else, you are welcome at Circular Climbing Collective.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out at circularclimbingcollective@gmail.com or DM us on instagram, [@circularclimbingcollective](https://www.instagram.com/circularclimbingcollective/)
All questions and requests welcome. We would love to support with any adjustments to ensure our sessions are inclusive for you.
Love, Team CCC ⭕

Kensington hidden gems: A walk from South kensington to Holland park.
Hello everyone!
This week, we’re escaping the main roads for a picturesque stroll through the heart of Kensington. Our route focuses on the quiet backstreets, hidden mews, and lush greenery that make this neighborhood so iconic. It’s the perfect way to see a side of London you might usually miss!
**📍 Meeting Point & Time**
Location: Outside South Kensington Tube Station.
Exact Spot: In front of St. Paul’s Restaurant, right next to the bicycle racks.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/4MgeBCDf2WaVWgBu9?g_st=ac
Finding Us: As you exit the station via the stairs, turn right and you’ll see us.
Time: We gather at 1:00 PM and will begin moving at 1:15 PM.
**🗺️ The Plan**
1:00 PM: Meet and greet outside the station.
1:15 PM: The walk commences! We’ll wind through the backstreets toward Holland Park.
3:00 PM: We reach the end of Holland Park.
The After-Party: Once we finish, we’ll head toward Shepherd’s Bush for a drink at Wetherspoons or a coffee at Starbucks for those who prefer a caffeine fix.
**📸 During the Event**
We’ll likely stop for a group photo at one of the scenic spots! If you’re camera-shy, no worries at all—participation is completely optional.
**🏃♂️ Late Comers & Updates**
Live Location: I will be posting a live location link on Telegram so you can find us if you're running a few minutes behind.
Tip: Telegram is great for privacy as it allows you to hide your phone number from the group!
**Telegram link:** https://t.me/+K_XSsBtvU_43N2U0
Cut-off Time: To ensure I can enjoy the walk with the group, I will stop responding to messages at 1:50 PM (20 minutes after we start).
**📱 Stay Connected**
I have a WhatsApp group for future events! I love keeping the group filled with people who are socially active, so if you'd like to join, just let me know in person during the walk and I’ll get you added.
Can't wait to see you all there! 🌳🚶♂️✨

The market changed—and most investors are still operating like it didn't.
Deals that used to work don't.
Buyers want different things.
And a lot of what's being taught right now is outdated or just wrong.
And, since 2011, it's been our job to make sure that our members are armed with the most up-to-date, real-world strategies for building wealth in Central Ohio real estate…
…so our mission with this meeting (and every meeting) is to give you the no-hype, warts-and-all info you need to succeed.
First, Wholesaling 101—a clear, real-world look at how wholesaling actually works today, what to pay, and how to stay out of trouble.
Then, Creative Deal Autopsies—real investors breaking down real deals with real numbers, real conversations, and real outcomes.
You'll also get the chance to put the presenters in the hot seat and ask any and every question you have about how they did their deals.
You'll learn:
1. What wholesaling actually is
2. How to calculate real offers
3. Where deals are coming from now
4. What buyers want
5. How creative deals are structured
6. What contracts and terms are used
7. What can go wrong—and how to avoid it
**Agenda:**
5:00–6:00: Free Light Dinner and Networking
6:00: Earlybird Meeting – Wholesaling 101
7:00: Buy-Sell-Trade (members only)
7:30: Creative Deal Autopsies

In Person Event: The Secrets to Mental Health
Mental Health, how do you understand it? How can you improve it?
How do you get rid of stress, anxiety and uncertainty? These emotions are buried deep in your reactive mind. Find out what the reactive mind is, and in the process find yourself.
Have you ever suffered from a traumatic experience, a deep loss or been through a painful breakup? Has your ability to communicate suffered as a result? And after that, even though you "moved on" did you find that things were never quite the same? Have you ever looked at childhood photos, or reminisced your early life and wondered where that happiness and spark went?
Are your emotions out of your own control? Have you ever felt, even if you aren’t aware of it, that possibly you are getting in your own way of your happiness and success? How does this affect your self-confidence?
Find out what is at the root of all stress, anxiety, depression and self-doubt. Find out how and why you hold yourself back from achieving your goals and having the life you have dreamed of. As soon as you learn what is at the root of these unwanted conditions, you’ll see it is something you can DO something about. You will not be labeled or categorized at this MeetUp.
This group is hosted by the Dianetics and Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.
