Dinner at the Peacock Inn $20 deposit
Dinner at the Peacock Inn $20 deposit
Built in 1854, The Peacock is a Northcote institution. Cold beer, warm atmosphere and service with a smile; the way a pub should be. Set on High Street, not far from the town hall, enjoy dinner in a large beer garden in the middle of summer. OK, not the middle, but it's still hot. Enjoy Thirsty Thursday with $6 Schooners & House Wine from 6pm. Not to mention food from their menu further below. So come on down if you've never been before, or come on down if you have. It's better than sitting at home. Check out their menu. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1j13Nz3I53bhjIVteBComU07jz_5Rusjt/view?pli=1 A $20 non refundable deposit is required for this event and will be refunded on the night. The deposit will be required 48 hours from RSVPing to the event or you will be moved removed from the event. Sorry, but we've had to instigate the deposit policy due to the number of no shows. Please make payment to the following account only if you are on the going list. Please note the new bank details. BSB 013125 Account 150808654 Please let me know once payment is made. PLEASE USE YOUR NAME AND VENUE AS YOUR REFERENCE. Please only RSVP to an event if you fully intend to show. Pulling out of a dinner or another booked event (with a venue) on the day is a kick in the teeth for both the venue and the organiser. I understand there are instances where this is unavoidable, but you are short changing the venue on the revenue they are reliant upon, especially when it comes to paying their staff. It may be too late to rebook those tables with other patrons. Not to mention the stress this puts the organisers under. Please be considerate.

Let's Visit Box Hill!
Let's Visit Box Hill!
This year's Lunar New Year starts on 17 February. So in honour of the Year of the Horse and having listened to your suggestions for the letter B, we're going to Box Hill. **ITINERARY (TBC)** 11am - Meet at the entrance of Box Hill Train Station. This is the plan: * Visit Fo Guang Shan Box Hill Temple * Yumcha for lunch (or equivalent Asian food) * See a lion dance together (if there's one when we're there) * Visit an Asian supermarket. In short, we're going to wander around and soak up the Lunar New Year ambience, Box Hill style. P.S. There's an organizer fee of $10 for this event. You can PayID me at 0403 413 056 (Serena Low). **Note:** I am capping the group at 9 persons to fit a round table in a Chinese restaurant and because yumcha servings typically come in threes. If you are no longer able to attend, please update your status to Not Going.

Please ensure you meet the fitness level for the event. If the group is forced to wait excessively, you may be asked to leave the event. **â›č Pace: Too Fast or Too Slow** Small social events rely on staying together. If you prefer a very different pace, consider going solo, joining a faster/slower group, or choosing events that match your fitness. **đŸ‘©â€đŸ’Œ Time Constraints** If you’re on a tight schedule, this may not be the right event. Social activities rarely run exactly on time. **⚠ CRITICAL EXPECTATIONS ⚠** **đŸ‘» No‑Shows** No‑shows block waitlisted people from attending and disrupt small-group events. - Remove yourself at least 24 hours before the event. - No‑shows will likely be removed and blocked from the group. - Last‑minute cancellations **(“flaking”)** may also result in group removal, especially when there is a waitlist. **👀 Attending Without Being on the Going List** This is a security issue. **Do NOT turn up unannounced**. If you’re not on the Going list and haven’t arranged it with the organiser beforehand, you will be asked to leave. Event check‑ins are performed. **⏰ Late Arrivals** If you’re late, the group will not wait. - You may be marked as a No‑Show and removed from the group. - It’s your responsibility to communicate and catch up—this may not be possible for some events. **đŸŽČ Second Chances** If something goes wrong, communicate with the organiser. Silence + poor behaviour = removal. Communication + accountability = second chances. As the organiser is busy organising this may be impossible during the event. **đŸš©Disclaimer: No Liability & Organiser Indemnity By participating in this event, you acknowledge and accept full personal responsibility for your own safety, wellbeing, and belongings. The organiser assumes no liability for injury, loss, or damage incurred during the activity. Participation is entirely at your own risk.**
💘 The Post‑Valentine’s “Last‑Minute Love Grab” Party - Lustre Bar - Fri 20 💕
💘 The Post‑Valentine’s “Last‑Minute Love Grab” Party - Lustre Bar - Fri 20 💕
**💘 Eat, Drink & Dance Melbourne: The Pre‑Valentine’s “Last‑Minute Love Grab” Party** 💘 Friday 20 February 7:00pm – 10:30pm Lustre Bar, Flinders Lane **##### !! Update - Moved to Fri 20 Feb** Melbourne, assemble your charm, your courage, and your most persuasive eyebrow raise — because Valentine’s Day has come and gone, and this is your final chance to secure a date before the city descends into roses, prix‑fixe menus, and smug couples holding hands like they invented affection. Join us at Lustre Bar, where the cocktails sparkle, the lighting forgives, and the mood is set firmly to romantic chaos. This is a night for the bold, the hopeful, the delightfully unhinged, and anyone who refuses to spend Saturday eating supermarket chocolate and tubs of ice cream like a lonely Chewbacca on the couch (again). **⚠Expect**: * Flirty icebreakers that make “So what do you do?” feel like a relic of a more boring civilisation * Silly mini‑games designed to nudge strangers into becoming “entangled parties of interest” * A soundtrack calibrated for maximum swoon‑potential * A room full of people who are also pretending they’re “just here for fun” By 10pm, those who have successfully paired, tangled, or otherwise conspired with another human will be invited to continue the adventure as we spill into a dance venue of our choosing. Think of it as the Valentine’s Migration: a flock of seagulls abd romantically‑charged humans moving gracefully (or not) toward a dance floor where destiny, chemistry, and questionable rhythm await. Whether you leave with a Valentine, a new crush, or simply a great story, you’ll be in excellent company. **Dress code**: Cute, confident, or chaotically optimistic. **Vibe**: Romantic comedy meets mild social experiment. **Goal**: Snatch a Valentine before the clock strikes midnight on Cupid’s deadline. Come for the cocktails. Stay for the chemistry. Dance for the glory.
