🌿Serene NOOJEE: Day trip: Hike + Picnic, Meditation, Lookout, Sculptures
* 🌏 **MELBOURNE → NOOJEE** 🏙️ * 📅 SUN **3 MAY, DAY TRIP ☀️** * ✨ Travel far enough to feel both adventure and calm. ✨ \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- Escape the city and join us for a beautifully balanced day in nature — where everything is taken care of, and all you need to do is arrive, breathe, and enjoy. From the moment we leave Melbourne, the rhythm begins to slow. The road opens into rolling Gippsland hills, forests deepen, and the air shifts — fresher, softer, calmer. In **Noojee**, we ease into a **gentle, scenic hike** through tall trees and peaceful trails, moving at a comfortable pace with space to connect, unwind, and simply be present. After the walk, we gather for a **relaxed picnic with a fresh fruit platter, snacks, and drinks — all included**. A moment to share, recharge, and enjoy nature together. The afternoon flows into a **quiet riverside experience** — a short walk through town brings us to the water, where we pause for a **guided meditation and grounding session**, surrounded by stillness. We continue with a scenic drive through the countryside, stopping at a **beautiful lookout** for views across the rolling hills, before finishing the day with a visit to a **local sculpture gallery** — adding a creative and cultural touch. No planning. No stress. Just a smooth, meaningful day of nature, movement, and connection. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- ## 🎒 **All-Inclusive Experience — $99** ✅ Comfortable **Mercedes minivan transport** 🚐 ✅ Guided **10 km scenic hike** + gear support 🥾 ✅ Meditation & grounding session 🌿 ✅ Fresh **fruit platter picnic** 🍉 ✅ Unlimited **snacks,** soft drinks, coffee & tea ☕ ✅ Scenic lookouts & curated itineraries 🌄 ✅ Friendly, welcoming group atmosphere \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- #### 🕒 Itinerary: 🌅 **07:00 — Pick-up from Melbourne CBD (St Paul’s Cathedral)** ⛽ **07:30 — Stop break** 🌿 **09:00 — Arrival in Noojee** ☕ Morning tea / coffee / snacks *(all included)* 🥾 **09:15 — Easy Scenic Hike** • \~10 km \| \~170 m elevation • Comfortable pace, forest & views 🍉 **13:00 — Picnic Lunch** • Fruit platter + snacks + drinks *(all included)* 🌊 **14:00 — River Walk + Meditation** • Gentle walk through town • Guided grounding session by the water 🌄 **15:00 — Lookout Stop** • Scenic views across Gippsland hills 🎨 **15:30 — Sculpture Gallery Visit** 🚐 **18:00 — Return to Melbourne CBD** 📍 Drop-off: Hamer Hall \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- **🎒 What to Bring?** ✔️ **Comfortable hiking shoes (or able to supply, let me know size)** **✔️ Wind/water-resistant jacket**🧥 ✔️ **Long pants & long sleeves** 🌿 ✔️ **Hat/beanie** 🧢 ✔️ **A positive mindset & big smile!** 😊 \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- **💰 How to Book?** Secure your spot with a **$99 transfer**: 🔹 **PayID:** 0414 661 458 🔹 **Bank Transfer:** **NAME:** KARAPETIAN G **BSB:** 013233 **ACCOUNT:** 226325836 **Ref:** NOO 🌟 **Limited spots available—RSVP now!** \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- ❗️**Please Note:** **Payments are only credited or refunded if the event is canceled or rescheduled by the organizer.** In all other circumstances, payments are **non-refundable and non-transferable**. ❗️Thank you for understanding and supporting the planning involved in creating these experiences! 🌿 \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- 📢 **Questions?** Feel free to **DM me anytime!** 📩 ✨ **Let’s make this an adventure to remember** \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- Visit our sources: https://www.facebook.com/groups/812911556223655/?ref=share Instagram: nogeography.hike.kayak https://www.meetup.com/en-AU/no-geography-hike-and-kayak/ \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- \*\*\*Where Relaxation Meets Adventure **\*\*\*** \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- **LIABILITY WAIVER** The organizer of this group cannot accept any liability for any loss, damage, injury, or accident to participants or their property at this event. Quiet Study & Reading Session at State Library Victoria
Quiet Study & Reading Session at State Library Victoria
Join us for a relaxed study and reading session at State Library Victoria. This is a low-pressure meetup for anyone who wants to spend a few focused hours studying, reading, learning something new, or working through an online course in a quiet and motivating environment. I’m planning to start the free online course [Astronomy with an online telescope](https://www.open.edu/openlearn/science-maths-technology/astronomy/astronomy-online-telescope/content-section-overview) for fun. It introduces the night sky, telescopes, and astronomical observations using an online robotic telescope. You’re welcome to do the same course, or anything else you’d like to quietly work on. This is not a formal class or teaching session. It’s more of a casual co-study / co-reading meetup where we can share a table, stay focused, and take breaks together. There’s no pressure to be social the whole time, but we can chat during breaks, lunch, or dinner afterwards. You can leave whenever you like, and you’re also welcome to arrive later. Just note that if you arrive later, you may not be able to get a seat right next to the group. **Links** Meetup start point: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/MxygdS6FBotcuo5Q9](https://maps.app.goo.gl/MxygdS6FBotcuo5Q9) **Rough timeline** * 9:45am – Meet at St George and the Dragon Statue * 10:00am – Head inside State Library Victoria and find seats * 10:00am–12:30pm – Study / read / work quietly * Around 12:30pm – Optional lunch nearby * After lunch – Continue studying / reading if people want to * 6:00pm – State Library closes * After 6:00pm – Optional dinner nearby **What to bring** * Laptop, tablet, book, notebook, or study materials * Charger / power bank if needed * Headphones if you like working with music or focus sounds * Water bottle * Anything else you need for a quiet study session **Important notes** Please arrive around 9:45am so we can say hello before heading inside when the library opens. This will be a quiet meetup, so we’ll keep socialising mainly to breaks, lunch, and optional dinner afterwards. Seats are not guaranteed, especially if the library is busy. We’ll do our best to find space together, but people arriving later may need to sit nearby rather than directly with the group. You’re welcome to leave early or stay only for part of the day. **Other info** * Optional lunch will be around 12:30pm. * Optional dinner will be after the library closes at 6:00pm.

Bad Girls Book Club May 2026
**Our May novel is: *The Quiet Librarian* by Allen Eskens** **This month’s book is set in the 20th century and mixes historical fiction with suspense and thriller elements. It also centers on women’s stories and relationships. The novel is 368 pages in print or 8 hours and 12 minutes on audiobook.** Hana Babic is a quiet, middle-aged librarian in Minnesota who wants nothing more than to be left alone. But when a detective arrives with the news that her best friend has been murdered, Hana knows that something evil has come for her, a dark remnant of the past she and her friend had shared. Thirty years before, Hana was someone else: Nura Divjak, a teenager growing up in the mountains of war-torn Bosnia—until Serbian soldiers arrived to slaughter her entire family before her eyes. The events of that day thrust Nura into the war, leading her to join a band of militia fighters, where she became not only a fierce warrior but a legend—the deadly Night Mora. But a shattering final act forced Nura to flee to the United States with a bounty on her head\*\*.\*\*

Welcome, readers! Our May read is **_Kindred_ by Octavia E. Butler.** The story follows Dana, a Black woman living in 1976 California, who is suddenly pulled back to a Maryland plantation before the Civil War. She learns her survival is tied to a white slaveholder’s son. Forced to move between centuries, she must endure the brutal realities of slavery while fighting to hold on to her identity. Tense, intimate, and unforgettable, Kindred explores how the past refuses to stay buried. Looking forward to discussing with everyone! We will meet at Zaftig Brewing Co in their event room in the back. We are welcome to bring in our own food, but **drinks must be purchased at the bar.** Happy reading! 📖
