Cheese and Wine Evening in Kings Cross | Ages 40 to 55
BOOK YOUR TICKET [HERE](https://itsadate.club/event/singles-cheese-and-wine-evening-8/).
Have a Mer’lot of fun meeting fellow wine enthusiasts during this full-bodied evening of Old World wines with newfound single friends (new world wines also available!) at Drake and Morgan in Kings Cross.
You’ll be welcomed at 19:15 by your *It’s a Date* host, who will show you where to leave your jacket and introduce you to the rest of the group. From there, you’ll enjoy three 125ml servings of hand-selected wines — typically a red, a white, and either a rosé or sparkling option. Pairing notes will be provided to give insight into each wine’s origins, add context to the flavours, and offer easy conversational cues as we explore the wines (and each other) throughout the evening.
Mid-way through, we’ll share a selection of cheeses and charcuterie — the ideal accompaniment to a relaxed, organic, and sociable night out.
Throughout the evening, your host will make introductions and ensure everyone has plenty of opportunities to mingle and connect — it’s a relaxed, low-key night with like-minded guests, engaging conversation, and some excellent wines. The event wraps up around 21:00, after which the bar will remain open for a drink from your favourite bottle and the chance to continue socialising.
Once home, you can access a list of attendees on your *It’s a Date* dashboard to send match feedback and organise those second dates. A match is struck when two guests reciprocate identical feedback, indicating mutual intent to reconnect and enabling messaging via our online platform.
If you have any questions on the event or how things will work, please get in contact with James on 07517 065 492 or [james@itsadate.club](mailto:james@itsadate.club).
Dinner & Conversation for Curious Builders: Why and How Do I Pray?
We’re hosting a relaxed **Alpha Dinner**, and I’d love to invite you.
The evening starts with **dinner**, followed by a **short talk,** then an **open, thoughtful conversation** with interesting people around the table.
If you’re someone who thinks deeply, builds things, makes decisions, and carries responsibility, prayer can sound either impractical or mysterious. This is simply a space to explore what prayer actually is, whether it does anything, and how people practice it in real life.
No pressure.
No judgement.
No “right” answers.
You don’t need to be religious.
You don’t need to believe anything.
Just curiosity.
The session is **free to attend**.
If you’re navigating questions like:
* How do I make decisions when the stakes are high?
* Is there more to life than output and success?
* What do people really mean when they say they pray?
This is a genuinely good place to explore them, **over good food and honest conversation**.
Hope you can make it.
Great Pub Conversations @ Clapham Common
Join us in the evening for a drink at **Old Town Tavern**. This social gathering is the perfect opportunity to unwind and to connect with friends - new and old. All ages welcome.
I will update the group discussion with which table we're at. Cheers!

Welcome To [Tailor Matched](https://api.wearexapp.com/promoter/events/manage/www.tailormatched.com "https://api.wearexapp.com/promoter/events/manage/www.tailormatched.com")\- your home of deep emotional\, sexual and intellectual connection\.
Our Dating & Relationship Coach Sophie French will be hosting a very gorgeous, gentle, grounding 50 minute tapping workshop for individuals who are open to love and want to feel calmer, more connected to themselves, and less activated by dating and relationships.
***[Book Your Ticket Here](https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/open-to-love-a-free-tapping-workshop-tickets-1982772588186?utm-campaign=social&utm-content=attendeeshare&utm-medium=discovery&utm-term=listing&utm-source=cp&aff=ebdsshcopyurl)***
If dating and relationships have been bringing up anxiety, fear of rejection, overthinking, or old emotional patterns, this session offers a space to slow down, soften, and reconnect inward. We matchmakers and relationship coaches at Tailor Matched know all too well how modern dating and relationships can stir up a deep sense of uncertainty in us as humans. Ambiguity, mixed signals, rejection, and the pressure to be chosen can activate old fears, nervous system responses, and protective patterns - often without us realising it.
This workshop is designed to gently ease that activation by creating a sense of internal safety and self-connection, helping you meet dating and relationships from a calmer, more grounded place. By soothing the nervous system and releasing old emotional charge, the intention is to support you in aligning more deeply to love - within yourself first, and then with others.
Rather than analysing dating or trying to “fix” yourself, this workshop is about regulating your nervous system and aligning internally to love - so you can relate to others from a place of safety, presence, and self-worth. The experience is calming and experiential, guided through EFT tapping, embodiment, and self-connection, with minimal talking or cognitive processing.
**️ The intention of this workshop is to support you in:**
Creating a sense of safety and connection within yourself before seeking it with another
Calming the nervous system around dating, rejection, and uncertainty
Releasing dating anxiety, overthinking, and fear of not being chosen
Letting go of old stories, past disappointments, and protective armour
Reconnecting to self-worth, openness, and emotional availability
Feeling grounded, confident, and present when meeting or relating to others
**️ Who This Is For**
This workshop is for you if you:
Feel anxious, activated, or discouraged when dating
Notice old patterns or fears showing up in relationships
Want dating to feel calmer, safer, and more embodied
Are open to love but want to approach it from self-connection rather than pressure
Prefer a gentle, nervous-system-led experience
No previous tapping experience is required.
** Practical Details**
Length: 50-minute live online session
Format: Guided tapping workshop
Who It’s Led By: Dating Coach Sophie French of Tailor Matched
What You’ll Need: A quiet space, comfortable seating, and an open mind
Our hope is that you leave this experience feeling like a calmer, more connected version of yourself - one who is more present, open, and anchored in a deep knowing and strong sense of self with connection to heart, mind ad body. When your inner world feels safer and steadier, love and life can be met with greater ease, clarity, and trust. This is an invitation to carry that grounded connection with you, not just into dating, but into the way you relate to yourself and the world around you.
See you there, much love,
Team Tailor Matched x

Bottles Under Fire - Love Edition
SAVE THE DATE - Saturday 28 February
Bottles Under Fire Love Edition Wine Tasting
In celebration of the month of love, I'm hosting a premium wine tasting at the art gallery **BLEUR Gallery & Studios** on Baker St with the arts collective Food of War on **Sat 28 Feb**.
There are two sessions available: **afternoon (2pm-5pm)** and **evening (7pm-10pm)** to choose from. Our previous tasting in October was described by Master of Wine Richard Bampfield as "*Without doubt my favourite wine event of 2025 - original, moving and highly stimulating. Each wine was presented with a respect that demonstrated excellent research and dedication to a bigger cause.*"
The wines featured at this event will tell the story of the relationship between wine, love and war, as well as a retelling of the Ancient Roman origins of Valentines in the Lupercalia festival.
Interwoven with poetry readings and carefully prepared cultural food pairings, you will taste the following wines:
• Traditional method rosé sparkling from **Odesa**, **Ukraine**
• A very rare Samarghandi (indigenous Persian grape) red wine from ungrafted, 200+ year-old vines from the **Zagros Mountains, Iran**
• Cesane d’Affile from the volcanic hills east of **Rome**
• Amarone della Valpolicella from **Verona**, the land of Romeo and Juliet
Following the tasting, there will be a surprise Colombian cocktail made by our sponsor for the event, Jaramillo Café, and a live DJ set (Kiki Szemraj) and more wines available at the bar.
Tickets are £69 - however, I'm offering an exclusive discount code for Meetup members, using the code BLEURLOVE on our website here: [https://www.foodofwar.org/events](https://www.foodofwar.org/events)
Hope to see you there! Lucas
Lunch at One Michelin Star La Trompette with BYO!
La Trompette opened in 2001 and has been showered with accolades since the outset; a reflection of the care, dedication and energy invested in the restaurant by the whole team. It has 1 Michelin Star and serves some of the best food in London but without the formality or prices associated with the capital’s top end establishments. As they say 'this is somewhere worth crossing town for'! So join me for a pre-Easter lunch with a very special BYO deal!
**Due to my relationship with a prominent wine merchant I am able to book a table at La Trompette with BYO for no corkage charge! The 3 course lunch is £65** (+12.5% service charge) which is good value for a Michelin starred restaurant. Here is the current lunch menu (subject to change): https://www.latrompette.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/Lunch-Sample-Menu.pdf
For the BYO for our table of 7 people I will take a range of high quality wines with an average retail value of £30 per bottle - 1 bottle of champagne, 2 white wines, 2 red wines and a 50cl dessert wine. With typical restaurant mark-ups these wines would cost around £100 on their wine list, so this is a great opportunity to enjoy delicious food and drink fine wines without paying restaurant prices (for the wine!).
**The pre-pay for this event is £87 which covers:-**
\- the 6 bottles of wine I will take for the BYO
\- £50 credit towards your food bill
\- meetup/paypal fees
On the day you will pay the balance of your food bill and any additional drinks you order.
**Please note that Meetup now charge an additional fee to attendees on top of the price which the Organiser sets. This fee is paid direct to Meetup and is beyond our control.**
The wine which I will take is an integral of this event so please do NOT ask if you can attend if you are not happy to share in all the bottles of wine.
**REFUND POLICY:** The 'ticket price' of £87 includes a non-refundable £5 for paypal/meetup fees. If you cancel by Wednesday 25th midday latest AND there is someone on the waiting list who pays for your place you will get a refund of £82.
**WAITLIST:** If the event is fully booked and you would like to join the ‘waitlist’, post a comment to let me know
Cheers,
Christos

Simmons Shoreditch is a quirky cocktail bar bringing an off-
kilter addition to the streets of the East. Just off Shoreditch High Street, this gem is notorious for a late-night party or 5. Its eclectic playlist and beautifully bonkers interiors set it apart from its peers.
Famed for its rogue aesthetic, it really has it all. We're not joking. Bringing a new meaning to 'Everything but the kitchen sink,' this bar even has that. Its DJ plays from a built-in Kitchen Disco. Spinning disks that span decades with a playlist that's sure to keep you on the dancefloor until the early hours. Blaring neons, skull disco balls and
waltzer-style booths all add to the charm!
The program of the night is as follows :
7:00pm-9pm : Singles mixing and mingling

Wine Tasting - Newcomers Night
This is "***New Members Night***." If you are one of the many folks on the fence about coming to your first wine tasting with the *Hilliard Wine Club*, this is the night to come. There will be many other new people, so you won't be alone. And the regulars will be there to help make you feel welcome. We're a relaxed and warm group. We hope to see you.
**SIDE NOTE:** New members are welcome to ALL our Friday night wine tastings, but this night is a special overture to those who don't want to feel that they are the only new person in the room. Don't worry. You won't be. And don't hesitate to RSVP to other events.
**OLD MEMBERS NOTE**: Hey Old Members! You're not excluded from this event. We expect to see you there to help make the new members feel welcome.
**Sample 4 different wines** this Friday for $15 (*Cash or Venmo only please*). Glasses are provided. Bring a snack to share. Bring a bottle to share if you care to. See all the details below for the Hilliard Wine Club Wine Tasting. In Person. In Real Life. Actual Wine from glass bottles with corks and everything.
**Wine**: Tastings will be $15 for four samples as always. And you are welcome to bring a bottle of your favorite wine to share with others. Participation in the wine tastings is optional. But since you’re going, I will buy enough wine to cover you. If you bring your own wine and do not participate in the tasting you will only pay $10 to cover the door charge.
**Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby.
**Glasses**: …will be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please be gentle, our glasses are fragile. Uh, they are made of glass!
**Food**: You are welcome to bring a snack to share. It is not required. Most people do though. If no one brings anything, there will be nothing.
**Code of Conduct**: Though mostly understood, it’s still worth mentioning. We don’t have rules per se, but we highly discourage the following topics of discussion because they are likely to incite anti-social responses - Sex, Politics, Religion. Please don’t mistake this as an attempt to limit your free speech rights but rather a guide to a place and time for appropriate discussions.
**Extra Wine**: After everyone has had their samples, we remove the pouring spouts and any remaining wine is poured freely to whomever wants it. I hate having leftover wine.
**Queen of Hearts**: The Queen of Hearts raffle is a fundraiser for the club and a Barnum and Bailey type extravaganza - minus the dancing ponies, clowns, and actual circus. Bring your ***cash*** as the Queen does not accept American Express or other plastic.
**After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still haven’t had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee.
Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends.
Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***,
**Red 1 Realty**

**Starliner Diner -** We'll shut down wine club at 8 pm this evening and take a short walk to our neighborhood eclectic eatery - Starliner Diner. Join us after wine club for a snack or meal. Starliner is a longtime favorite in Hilliard.
Please RSVP early AND Please let me know in the comments if you plan to join us after at the diner so I can have accurate numbers for the reservations.
**On Freestyle night** \- just bring a bottle to share\. There is NO formal wine tasting like on other weeks\. Door charge is $10 \(cash or Venmo only please\)\. We may have some left over wines to clear out\! Glasses are provided\. Take Care\. See you there\.
**Parking**: There are several public parking lots near the Alive614 hall. Please be careful to NOT park in private parking lots. They do tow. Check Google maps to scope out your space. Anyone who is early could easily find a parking space on the street nearby. I am told that the Chase parking lot is safe after hours.
**Glasses**: …will be provided. Please note that after the wine tasting, the EMPTY glasses need to be returned to the boxes at the service table. Please do not make me hunt down your empty glass.
Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends.
Sincerely, ***Paul Uttermohlen***,

Comedy Night + Open Mic
**Comedy Night + Open Mic + Freestyle**: We've hired a professional comedian to warm the group up for our open mic session. Members have been making me laugh for years and we've tossed around the idea of a comedy night / open mic. Well, It's time to step up and crack me up.
We'll start with Tristan Shae and a couple of his friends. Tristan is an alternative comic from Columbus, Ohio. A counselor by day, Tristan explores how comedy can improve mental health by telling jokes and stories that muse on how absurd life can be from squeaky clean topics to not so clean ones. Tristan produces the variety show Cheaper Than Therapy, hosts the weekly Problem Child Alt Comedy Open Mic at The Attic, and can be found engaging in all sorts of silliness around the city from stand up shows at The Nest Theater, The Attic, or The Funny Bone, to improv and sketch shows with various groups at various venues such as The Hashtag Comedy Club.
**On Freestyle night** \- just bring a bottle to share\. There is NO formal wine tasting like on other weeks\. Door charge is $10 \(cash or Venmo only please\)\. We may have some left over wines to clear out\! Glasses are provided\. Take Care\. See you there\.

**After the lights go out**: After the last sip of wine, when we clean up and turn the lights out, if you still haven’t had enough of us, it is typical for a group to get together and go to a local eatery for food and/or drinks or coffee.
Again, We look forward to meeting new members and reuniting with old friends.
