You can expect a friendly introduction to the sport, but in all honesty you will dive in at the deep end to learn UWR. Please bring swimwear and an open mind and expectation to have fun. We can lend an UWR hat, snorkle, mask and fins. Although if you have them already it is better to bring your own. Expect to swim, dive to 4m depth, hold your breath longer than you thought you could, be involved in drills and games. It is full contact and you will be wrestling other players to take the ball and pass to your team or score a goal. She also led flamenco classes at Rey Juan Carlos University from 2013 to 2018. Born and raised in Madrid (Spain), she began studying ballet and Spanish dance at the tender age of nine. Maika studied at Karen Taft Dance Academy and Flamenco Centre “Amor de Dios”, majoring in Spanish Dance at the Conservatory of Dance in Madrid. In 2003, she was awarded a Teaching Methodology Applied to Spanish Dance certificate and then focused her career on dance education. Maika has continued her professional training alongside teachers including Antonio Canales, Alfonso Losa, La Lupi, Rojas and Rodriguez. Maika co-founded the company Spanish Flamenco Tour, based in Miami (USA), a business dedicated to promoting flamenco and Spanish culture, to a local audience. Adding more strings to her bow, Maika embarked on a Master´s Degree in Leadership and Management of Cultural Projects at the Institute of Dance “Alicia Alonso”, Rey Juan Carlos University. Her final master’s project was based on promoting Spanish dance, receiving a First-Class Degree. Maika’s classes are designed to extract every student’s natural ability to dance and show them how wonderful and fun, this art form is.

Following the popularity of the Friday afternoon class at Le Pain Quotidien in Notting Hill, this is a NEW, MORNING mini-group class for a maximum of 4 students. The numbers are small so that everyone gets lots of opportunity to speak and be corrected by a native British English speaker (me!) We switch topics as the conversation flows, so that you can get used to talking about a variety of subjects, as you have to in everyday conversations with native speakers. Join the London Free English Classes group for an exciting language exchange and social networking event! This event is perfect for English as a Second Language (ESL) learners who want to improve their language skills while making new international friends. Welcome to London Free English Classes! Whether you want to improve your language skills for everyday communication or have specific purposes like exams or job interviews, we have you covered. We are a small group of Christians who offer free English classes to anyone wanting to practice, grow, and strengthen his or her English skills. We will meet at a free location each week to have the class, and we will use a workbook with conversation prompts from the books of Luke and Acts to aid our conversations. People of any background, nationality, gender, race, etc. are welcome! Since 1981, Let's Start Talking (LST) has created conversation workbooks for people around the world who are eager to improve their English. LST materials are unique because they are not designed for classroom use, but instead for individual conversations. We will be using this material to prompt our conversations. We believe that a friendly relationship and the exchange of personal insights contribute significantly to improving language skills. When we talk about ideas that are important to us, we try harder to communicate clearly, and we make a greater effort to understand what the other person is saying. Here lies the success of the Let's Start Talking approach and resources and their continued value in language learning. This is NOT an accredited course. Teachers at Free English Classes are volunteer Christians. We are unable to guarantee that all teachers have teacher training qualifications. The lessons are intended for beginner (CEF levels A1 & A2) and intermediate (CEF level B1) level learners; and only aim to provide additional English language support - they are not meant to be a complete course of English teaching or to replace a course in a language school. Basic-level groups focus mainly on everyday spoken language. Intermediate groups use mostly expository texts which describe or explain things. We also include narrative texts from time to time. You will get the most out of the lessons if you come regularly, take home the worksheet each week and revise what you have learnt. Upon arrival, you will be required to register your name and contact details solely for communication purposes, and will be subject to Data Protection Act 2018. We occasionally take photos and videos during Free English Classes for both digital and print publicity and marketing such as flyers and social media. If you do not want to be in any photos or videos, please let a team member know on arrival.
