Come grab a drink after work and check out Choros. Choros is a local social app for men in the DC area who want a better social life offline. The app helps members find recurring plans around DC, Arlington, and Alexandria: happy hours, sports, games, dinners, weekend events, and other casual stuff to do. This is an open guest night for anyone curious about the app before joining. Nothing formal, no pitch, no awkward icebreakers. Just a normal happy hour and an easy way to see what the community is like in person. Good fit if you’re new to the area, working remotely, recently out of a relationship, trying to rebuild your social circle, or just realizing it’s harder than it should be to find people to do things with as an adult. To be clear: this is not a dating event, singles event, business networking event, or giant mixer. Title: Quantum Computing for Business (Exploring Opportunities Available Today) Date: June 27 2026 Saturday Noon - 14:00 EDT Summary: Big media reports that current quantum computers are not able to attack business problems at scale. In Ron's experience, this is only about 95% true. He has found that certain types of quantum computers, specifically quantum annealers, are very good at solving constraint based optimization problems at business scale. This presentation will answer the question “What is quantum computing?” by comparing quantum computers to classical computers and describing the various types of quantum qubits. Ron 'll introduce what quantum computers can be used for and what they shouldn't be used for. Next, Ron will look at a number of quantum computing use cases that are currently available to businesses today. Finally, Ron ’ll present conclusions with a brief discussion of future hardware. There will be time for Q & A. Speaker: Ron has been fortunate to have worked in a broad range of technical disciplines during his career. Areas in which he developed expertise and innovative results include, digital hardware design, silicon functional architecture (chips), computer language compiler development, and medical software. Ron has recently immersed himself in quantum computing technologies and has obtained more than a dozen certificates across the quantum spectrum. These technologies include various hardware platforms, numerous quantum programming frameworks and quantum sensors. As a co-founder and CQTO of B2Quantum, Inc, Ron has served as a quantum computing Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a large pharma company. As a SME, he performed quantum computing use case analysis, strategic planning, budget guidance and risk analysis. Outside of the technical arena, Ron is a licensed pilot, certified open water SCUBA diver, bicyclist, wood worker and a once in a while artist.
