Lunch at Yiaga
Lunch at Yiaga
Our wonderful host LeAnn held a meal at Yiaga in early November shortly after the restaurant first opened (credit to those diners for the featured photo). For those who missed out, this is your chance to experience Hugh Allenโ€™s new venture (youโ€™ll know his name from Vue de Monde), set in the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens. The restaurant itself is a masterpiece, crafted almost entirely from Australian materials and traditions of local craft. Youโ€™ll enjoy a multi-course lunch degustation that celebrates Australia through its farmers, fishers, growers, makers, artists, and creatives. You can read Broadsheetโ€™s write up here: https://www.broadsheet.com.au/featured/yiaga-opens-fitzroy-gardens Iโ€™ve booked for 6 Fine Diners to enjoy the set menu at $295 per person for lunch from 12pm on Saturday 10 January. There are options on the day for drink pairings - see the website for more detail on price points for the various matching choices if you are interested. โ€ฉJoin the waitlist to express interest. Once I have names in the waitlist, Iโ€™ll send you a โ€˜Meetup Messageโ€™ to confirm you have a spot and how to pay. Youโ€™ll need to send me $295 to secure your place (the restaurant charges the full menu price for cancellations with less than 72 hrs notice - this will be deducted from your bill when we settle up). Once paid Iโ€™ll move you from the waitlist to going. Any dietary requirements must be advised in advance or Yiaga may not be able to accommodate, so please note these when you join the waitlist.โ€ฉ Please check that you donโ€™t have your settings blocking messages; if I canโ€™t contact you Iโ€™ll have to move on to the next person. Also if you donโ€™t respond to my message within 3 days, Iโ€™ll let you know that Iโ€™m offering the seat to the next person on the waitlist. โ€ฉThanks and looking forward to trying Yiaga with you!
Summer social cycle. 30km Capital city trail. Start/End at Skyline Ferris wheel
Summer social cycle. 30km Capital city trail. Start/End at Skyline Ferris wheel
**๐Ÿšฒ Eat Drink Dance Melbourne โ€“ Summer Social Cycle!** Saturday 3 January โ€ข 10.30 AM โ€“ approx. 2:00 PM Please be at the Ferris wheel at 10.15 AM. We will leave by 10.30 AM **Meet & finish at:** Love Cafรฉ, South Wharf (next to the Skyline Ferris Wheel & Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre) Ready to roll into the new year with sunshine, good company, and Melbourneโ€™s most iconic cycling loop? Join us for a 30 km social ride around the Capital City Trailโ€”fun, flirty, relaxed, and absolutely not a race. Think of it as a moving summer hangout with wheels. **_### If you are considering coming on this event please ensure you read the group rules at the end_ ###** **๐ŸŒž What to Expect** - A chilled 3โ€‘hour ride with rest breaks every 30โ€“45 minutes - A friendly pace where conversation is encouraged and Lycraโ€‘hero energy is optional - Plenty of time to snack, hydrate, laugh, and enjoy the longโ€‘overdue warm weather (โ€ฆitโ€™s Melbourne, so fingers crossed) - A big scenic loop through the inner suburbs, leafy **riverside paths, and long stretches** along the Yarra - A gorgeous skyline moment on the return legโ€”one of the best views in the city **๐Ÿšด No Bike? No Problem** You can hire one just across the river at Blue Tongue Bikes in Batman Park. Easy. Feel free to bring an electric bike if you're lazy! ****๐Ÿšฒ** What to bring****** Bike, water, bike lock, helmet, fun and smiley ๐Ÿ‘€ ๐Ÿ˜‰ **โค๏ธ Start & Finish** Weโ€™ll meet at Love Cafรฉโ€”because where better to kick off a flirty summer ride than a place literally called Love? After the loop, weโ€™ll roll right back there to unwind, cool down, and enjoy a wellโ€‘earned drink together. **๐ŸŽ‰ Vibe Check** This is relaxed exercise, not a timeโ€‘trial. Itโ€™s about sunshine, connection, movement, and a little playful summer energy. Come for the ride, stay for the people. **Group Rules and Event Etiquette** **Fitness Requirements**: This should be a moderate level of difficulty for most riders. Please ensure you can walk between 3 and 4km/hr and 200m vertically in an hour. If riding a consistent pace of around 10 to 15km/hr is great. We usually walk or ride at a relaxed pace but people have time constraints and it's not fair for people in the group to wait around for extended periods for you to catch up. Please go on easier events with the group if you are unsure. **People who walk/ride very fast and prefer being by themselves** This is a group activity and I can't manage the group if it splits up, please consider going by yourself or joining a faster group. **If people have time constraints** Best to give yourself some wiggle room, Things rarely go to time due to various factors especially in big groups. If you have very specific time goals and constraints it's best not to come. **+++VERY IMPORTANT+++** **People who do a No - Show**. This is unfortunately too common for the small group events, especially when we have people in a wait list wanting to come on the event. Remove yourself from the going list 24 hours before the event starts to give people on the waitlist an opportunity. **If you do a No Show you will be removed and blocked from the group**. If you remove yourself from the event an hour or two before the event you may also be blocked and removed from the group as this gives very little time and opportunity for people on the waitlist to prepare and is inherently unfair to people on the waitlist. Please communicate with me if you do not want to be blocked and removed from the group. **People who turn up without registering** This is a major security concern, **DO NOT DO THIS**.You will be asked to leave the event unless you have made arrangements with me **PRIOR** to the event. **People who are late** You will be left behind and or removed and blocked from the group as a No-Show. It is your responsibility to communicate with the organiser if you think you will be late, otherwise you will be blocked and removed from the group. It is up to you to catch up and or attempt to communicate with me.

๐Ÿ“š #InPursuit โ€“ A Book Club for Builders, Thinkers, and Doers
๐Ÿ“š #InPursuit โ€“ A Book Club for Builders, Thinkers, and Doers
๐Ÿ“š #InPursuit is a book club for entrepreneurs, creatives, and curious minds who know personal growth fuels business growth. **See a lot of RSPVPs and wonder how it works? We'll break up into groups of 6-8 to share our insights, then swap groups after 30-45min so you can maximise learning from everybody!** *Note: this even is not organised by or affiliated with The State Library of Victoria* **That's what #InPursuit is all about** Itโ€™s not a traditional book club, itโ€™s a space for people who are actively designing a better life through the pursuit of business, creativity, and personal growth. This event is for anyone #InPursuit of better business, life and relationships. Instead of reading the same book, we each come prepared to share one powerful insight from something weโ€™ve read in the past 3-months. Anything non-fiction thatโ€™s moved us forward. Whether itโ€™s a mindset shift, a productivity system, a new philosophy, or just a truth that punched us in the gut. This is a place to unpack it together and hear what others are learning too. Weโ€™re not just here to *read*. Weโ€™re here to *integrate*. Because when we grow, our business and our lives grow too. **๐Ÿ” Why Join? You'll leave with:** * 5โ€“10 fresh insights from books you may never have picked up * Deeper awareness of how others think, lead, and evolve * New connections with people walking a similar path toward purpose, results, and impact This isnโ€™t a lecture. Itโ€™s a room full of people building themselves while they build the thing. **๐Ÿ“– How It Works** First time? No pressure to share, just come curious. We'll break up into groups of 6-8 and share our insights, then swap groups so you can maximise the learning! Returning? Bring one idea youโ€™ve read about in the last 3-months and be ready to speak on: 1. What did you learn? 2. How did it shift your perspective about the world or yourself? 3. How has it changed the way you show up or behave? We keep it structured, but flexible. After sharing, we open up to Q&A, personal stories, challenges, and deep dives. Some of the best insights come from the conversations *after* the share. **๐Ÿง  Who This Is For** * Entrepreneurs or side-hustlers finding their footing * Business owners, and doers building toward better * Curious minds who love ideas but care more about action * People tired of shallow conversations and hungry for growth If youโ€™re working on somethingโ€”or becoming someoneโ€”this space is for you. Itโ€™s a practice ground for people who want to grow forward. Weโ€™re all #InPursuit of mastery, momentum, and the kind of success that starts from within. **Map on how to get there** We're in the Create Quarter on the ground level (back right of the Quad as you enter from Swanson St). We'll likely be on a long table together. https://www.slv.vic.gov.au/sites/default/files/SLV-EnglishMap_Jan25.pdf *If there is no room at a table I'll post on the event page that we'll be going to Mr. Tulk Cafe, which is on the corner of the library at Swanson St and La Trobe St.*
