Discover how AI tools like Fossabot and Claude can automatically catch what manual reviewers miss, from npm packages to Helm charts, and learn best practices for combining AI analysis with human judgment. **The Hybrid AI Stack: Rancher, Envoy, KubeAI and the Art of GPU Bursting - Elias Rami** **(WhizUs)** This talk presents a hybrid AI infrastructure stack for self-hosting LLMs on Kubernetes. It covers the evolution from a simple Ollama setup to a production-grade architecture using Rancher RKE2 with bare-metal GPUs (H100s with MIG partitioning), KubeAI for Kubernetes-native model serving via vLLM, and Envoy AI Gateway with the Gateway API Inference Extension for intelligent, KV-cache-aware routing. **ML(Dev)Ops at Mercari - Norbert Preining (Mercari)** Mercari is the biggest client-to-client marketplace in Japan with more than 23M monthly active users (1 in 4 adults in Japan), and over 3B listings to date. In the last years, we have introduced reranking, a ML based system to improve search results, into the search system. We will talk about the slow and incremental improvements in our ML/DevOps setup from an incredible simple in-search adapter model to an elaborated setup with multiple models, all while running under full load with latency budgets in the tens of miliseconds. **RSVP:** Don't miss out on this opportunity to elevate your skills and network with industry leaders. This panel is not about perfect solutions, but about real experiences: * What works well? * Where does it get challenging? * Which decisions help in everyday life – and which ones don't? Costume co-working + Chinese New Year Dinner: productivity meets self-expression
Costume co-working + Chinese New Year Dinner: productivity meets self-expression
To celebrate **Fasching and Chinese New Year happening at the same day**, we’re turning an ordinary co-working afternoon into something a little more… ridiculous, expressive, and fun. This is a **costume co-working day**, where focus meets play, and productivity meets self-expression. Join us for our **Weekly** **Co-Working Session** in creative driven lounge **Jaz in the City** — and let’s finally get it done, together. After Co-working from 5pm onward, we are going to a Chinese restaurant to celebrate Chinese New Year together! **Dress-Up Code (very important 😌)** Please wear **one piece of clothing** that fits at least one of these categories: * 🧥 A piece that has been **living in your wardrobe for years** but never had its moment * 🤡 Something **funny, absurd, dramatic, or slightly ridiculous** * 😤 A piece you **secretly hate**, but for some reason can’t throw away Wear it. Own it. And be ready to **share the story behind it**. ✨ Bonus: You’re encouraged to **change outfits between focus sessions** if you like. **How the afternoon works** We’ll have **3 focused co-working sessions**, with short breaks in between. Each break is a chance to: * switch outfits * stretch * laugh * and hear the stories behind the clothes we’re wearing This is still real co-working — just with a lighter spirit and more color. **Why this event** Because: * creativity boosts focus * play reduces resistance * and sometimes productivity needs a little chaos 🎨 You don’t need a “proper” costume. You just need **one forgotten, funny, or emotionally complicated piece of clothing**. 📲 **Want reminders or to connect with others before/after?** Join our [WhatsApp group](https://chat.whatsapp.com/K6LidaoQhe16wZ0Se9pNM6), Keep contact via [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/nocrastinationclub/) This is a soft, safe, supportive in-person space to move through procrastination with presence and companionship. Coffee price: Espresso: €3.5, Americano: €4.5, Latte: €5.5. After each focus session, if you’re still in the flow, feel free to remain seated — no need to move. If you're up for a chat, join others in the social area for a relaxed break. * **Social start**: from **1:00 to 1:28 PM**, we mingle and get to know each other; our first focus session begins at **1:30 PM** * **Gentle structure**: we begin with a soft check-in and intention round * **Pomodoro-style rhythm**: We work in 45-minute focus blocks followed by 15-minute social breaks. If 45 minutes feels too long, feel free to break it into two 20-minute focus sessions with a short 5-minute reset in between. You’ll need to self-regulate these shorter cycles, just tune into your own flow and rejoin when ready. * **Quiet companionship**: no pressure to talk during focus time — just shared presence and support * **Welcoming space**: we meet in the creative, cozy lobby of the **Jaz in the City** 💡 **New to Pomodoro?** Don’t worry — we’ll guide you gently. No apps or timers needed. 💬 Why Join? * Beat procrastination with gentle accountability * Reclaim your momentum without doing it alone * Enjoy a change of scenery that boosts your focus * Be part of a community that shows up — without hustle Bring your project. Bring your presence. Let’s work side-by-side. 💚

This event is for people who join the event in person at TechTalk (https://techtalk.at/). The system started over 10 years ago as a monolith, and many teams have developed within it, adding their flavors and understanding of the architectural patterns and the architecture trends at that time. This has led to maintenance issues and unclear guidance for new developers. We tackled parts of this by introducing tests that ensure the layering of vertical slices is consistent. Our solution is based on the following approaches: \* Fitness Functions from Evolutionary Architecture \* Ports & Adapters and Layered Architecture \* Approval Testing \* Architecture Tests We will cover these topics and the ideas we borrowed from them. The talk will also focus on the dynamics that these tests initiated within the team and another contributing team, leading to fruitful discussions, better shared understanding of the technical vision, and clear refactoring targets for developers. **About Tim Paulus:** As a developer, Tim faces the typical challenge of inheriting a software project with proven business value in its domain, yet needing to transform its architecture to meet new technical and organizational requirements. **About Patrick Säuerl:** Patrick is an experienced software architect and technical lead who has supported numerous teams and developers on their journey. With several years of experience in various projects, he has shifted his focus to technical leadership, team collaboration, and Domain-Driven Design (DDD). He places particular emphasis on collaborative modeling, with preferred methods including Specification by Example, User Story Mapping, Event Storming, and Event Modeling. Patrick promotes both intra-team collaboration and cross-team collaboration in scaled environments. Location, Food & Drinks are sponsored by TechTalk. **Timetable:** \- 18:00: Door opens at TechTalk \- 18:15: Intro \- 18:20: Talk starts \- 19:30: Food & Drinks \- 21:00: End Recordings will be available afterward at https://go.dotnetdevs.at/recordings This meetup is organized by DotNetDevs.at (https://dotnetdevs.at/). Cloud Native Vienna: February 2026 Meetup
Cloud Native Vienna: February 2026 Meetup
We'd like to invite you to our second installation for the Cloud Native Vienna Meetups in 2026! Again we'll have two deep-dive talks and time to network and chat with friends in the Viennese cloud native community. A big thank you to **willhaben** for hosting us and providing food and drinks! The meetup will take place at the **willhaben** (Bürozentrum 1, Landstraßer Hauptstraße 97-101, 1030 Wien). You can reach the office from inside the “Galleria Landstraße” mall. After entering through the main entrance, you’ll find the entrance to Bürozentrum 1 (a big red door) on your right, just past the chocolate shop. Take the elevator to floor 3A (look for the button with the willhaben logo). **Agenda:** * **17:30:** Doors Open & Networking * **17:55:** Welcome from the Organizers * **18:00:** **Talk 1:** Lukas Zainzinger – ***willhaben’s Journey to AWS MSK – A retrospective on Security, Costs, and Reality*** * **18:45:** Break & Refreshments * **19:00:** **Talk 2:** David Hondl – ***Monster-Sized Gitops; How to scale Argo CD*** * **19:45:** Open Networking We look forward to seeing you there! \-\-\- **Talks:** Lukas Zainzinger (willhaben) ***willhaben’s Journey to AWS MSK – A retrospective on Security, Costs, and Reality*** Migrating to managed services is rarely a plug-and-play experience. In this talk, we walk through Willhaben’s transition to Managed Kafka on AWS (MSK), sharing the authentic story of our integration rather than a textbook tutorial. We will dive into the specific hurdles we faced, focusing on how we engineered solutions for strict security and access control requirements. Additionally, we’ll discuss the financial aspect—specifically the pricing issues we encountered and the adjustments we made to solve them. This isn't a lecture on the "one right way" to do things, but a transparent look at the decisions, challenges, and learnings we gathered along our own journey. *Bio:* Lukas joined willhaben as a Platform SRE in 2024, following a career path that transitioned from Application Management to specialized DevOps roles at Raiffeisen Informatik, Shöpping and Siemens. Throughout his journey, he has developed a deep expertise in Kubernetes, Terraform and multiple Cloud Providers, always with an eye toward improving developer experience and system reliability. Currently a Master’s student at Hochschule Burgenland, Lukas bridges the gap between academic cloud research and real-world infrastructure challenges. He is particularly passionate about leveraging cloud-native and managed services to build robust, fault-tolerant infrastructure. David Hondl (Dynatrace) ***Monster-Sized Gitops; How to scale Argo CD*** Argo CD is one of the most popular and widely spread GitOps tools for Kubernetes and part of the backbone of many internal developer platforms. Also Argo CD can undoubtedly be a beast - and a huge one at that, as anyone scaling it for a production environment has probably seen in one way or another. But what if simply having a massive installation is not enough for us? What if we want to go even bigger from here, raise it to beyond what we thought feasible? Create more Applications, more ApplicationSets and render more resources at the same time? These are the questions that we will tackle in this talk. We are going to take a look at the different Argo CD components, from the frontend to the K8s controllers and how they behave at scale. We will examine how far they can bend and especially when and how they will break. Based on what we find, we are going to figure out how to tweak these parts in just the right way. And in the end we will hopefully be able to turn Argo CD into a bigger monster than it ever was. *Bio:* I'm a Cloud Engineer at Dynatrace and I'm super passionate about all things Platform Engineering and the cloud-native community. I use (and build) platforms to create better developer experiences and love to share my knowledge as a speaker as well as actively organize meetups around the topic.

Fun & easy way to play more tennis (read event description)
We’re still working to get more people into these Meetups, but our goal is to give PlayYourCourt members a few social tennis outings each week in addition to your practice sessions and Challenge League matches. These Meetups are co-ed, super laid back, and all skill levels are welcome. Post your skill level and a suggested court in the comments section so we can round up as many players as we can for some tennis fun! Also, if you’re looking to meet new practice partners or play some matches and you aren’t already in the PlayYourCourt Community, you can go here to see what we’re all about and sign up: https://www.playyourcourt.com/tennis-community/columbus-oh/meetup/ If you love tennis, we’d love to have you! Be sure and watch the quick video that explains how everything works. Happy hitting! - Scott

Free in-person event: Take Control of Your Mental Health
Free in-person event: Take Control of Your Mental Health
It’s time to take control of your mental health. How do you get rid of stress, anxiety and uncertainty? These emotions are buried deep in your reactive mind. Find out what the reactive mind is, and in the process find yourself. Have you ever suffered from a traumatic experience, a deep loss or been through a painful breakup? Has your ability to communicate suffered as a result? And after that, even though you "moved on" did you find that things were never quite the same? Have you ever looked at childhood photos, or reminisced your early life and wondered where that happiness and spark went? Are your emotions out of your own control? Have you ever felt, even if you aren’t aware of it, that possibly you are getting in your own way of your happiness and success? How does this affect your self-confidence? Find out what is at the root of all stress, anxiety, depression and self-doubt. Find out how and why you hold yourself back from achieving your goals and having the life you have dreamed of. As soon as you learn what is at the root of these unwanted conditions, you’ll see it is something you can DO something about. You will not be labeled or categorized at this MeetUp.

How to Take Control of YOUR Mental Health
How to Take Control of YOUR Mental Health
It’s time to take control of your mental health. How do you get rid of stress, anxiety and uncertainty? These emotions are buried deep in your reactive mind. Find out what the reactive mind is, and in the process find yourself. Here is the secret of being positive and free: Thinking positively is not enough. You also have to get rid of the negative thinking. Your mind is like a garden. You can plant many beautiful flowers in it, but if you don't get rid of the weeds when you plant your flowers, the weeds will soon take over the whole garden. A positive thought is like a flower in your mental garden, and a negative thought is like a weed. You cannot expect to have a positive mindset if you continue to have negative thoughts dwelling and growing there. So, how do you get rid of the negative thoughts? That's what this Meetup is all about. Attend this local meeting and find out! The Meetup event will be led by a consultant who had helped many people live happier in life. Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there. This group is created by the Dianetics & Scientology life improvement center.
