DeafPlus Advocate is hosting our monthly ASL Social event in the DMV. Join us for Holiday cheer and enjoy international food! This month, we will start at a special time 1 PM! If you are Deaf, Hearing, interested in socializing, or looking for practice with your American Sign Language (ASL), join us! All ASL levels are welcome! Let's return to world of Pandora for the third installment of the Avatar series.

The Silver line has two eastern strands: one accompanies the Orange line to New Carrollton and the other goes with the Blue to Downtown Largo. Eastbound Silver line trains alternate the paths. Our goal is to metaphorically reunite the two threads of Silver by traveling to the end of one line, taking a bus to the other terminus, then riding back to our starting point. Bonus: We get to twice cross over the Anacostia River! We'll meet at the station where the lines diverge, Stadium/Armory, and when we're done we'll glide downtown for lunch at Potbelly. **Ed and Gail's Annual Country Western Extravaganza** **With Guest Instructors Mal and Linda Zerden** **Sunday, December 21** 4:00-5:00 Country Western Two-Step with Mal and Linda 5:00-7:00 Dance (Variety: Two-Step, West and East Coast Swing, Cha Cha, Waltz, Rumba, Hustle, and more!) $15 We started this event more than a decade ago, filling the dance hall with happy dancers and upbeat music. It's still going strong, and this year our good friends and World Champions Mal and Linda Zerden will join us, teaching a fun Country Western Two-Step lesson at 4:00. No partner necessary!

Join our ASL Brunch on Sundays in Greenbelt! All ASL users and learners are welcome. Brunches are alternately held at two restaurants in Greenbelt, both in the same town plaza. ODD WEEKS: 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays, we meet at Cedars of Lebanon, 103 Centerway. EVEN WEEKS: 2nd and 4th Sundays, we meet at New Deal Café,113 Centerway. We are the Greenbelt ASL Community, a group of both Deaf and hearing people who hang out, chat about everyday goings on, trade stories, get to know each other better, and of course, enjoy food together. Many members use ASL as their primary language, several are interpreters or other fluent ASL users, while others are ASL learners who wish to improve their skills while making new friends. Before or after brunch, you can visit the farmer's market and small coop grocery store in the plaza. Please RSVP so we can contact you via email if needed.
