Indoor Rock Climbing (Urban Climb Blackburn ) - First-time to Advanced
Indoor Rock Climbing (Urban Climb Blackburn ) - First-time to Advanced
**Urban Climb Blackburn** Never climbed before? No worries at all! You're very welcome here! Just complete a quick safety induction when you arrive and the staff will walk you through everything you need to know to climb safely indoors. It's easy, friendly, and won't take long. The venue has plenty to enjoy, including a bouldering cave, speed wall, sauna facilities, and sparkling water to keep you going. This group is primarily focused on rope climbing, top roping and lead climbing, but if you'd prefer to stick to bouldering while you find your feet, that's absolutely fine too! Many of our members have their lead pass and gear, but there's no pressure at all. **Finding us:** If you arrive on time, look for us gathered around the couches in the bouldering area. We're a friendly bunch, so just come and say hi! Running a little late? No stress, just let the staff up the front know you're with the Climb Meetup group and they'll make an announcement. Someone will come and find you and introduce you around. A few of our regulars also wear a black shirt with the old logo, so keep an eye out for those. **A note on numbers:** The meetup runs every Monday and many regular members come along independently without RSVPing through the group, so the crowd is often bigger than it looks on the attendee list! If you're ever unsure whether people will be there or worried it might be a tiny group, feel free to drop the organisers a message beforehand and we'll put your mind at ease. **Fees:** Entry is paid directly to Urban Climb. You can find current pricing at [urbanclimb.com.au/pricing](https://urbanclimb.com.au/pricing/). If you hold a climbing membership elsewhere, it's worth checking your member benefits as you may be eligible for a discount. For venue info and the first-time waiver, visit [urbanclimb.com.au/locations/blackburn](https://urbanclimb.com.au/locations/blackburn/). **Stay connected:** We also have a facebook group [https://www.facebook.com/groups/663576119053808](https://www.facebook.com/groups/663576119053808) with a chat function; a great way to connect with members before or after a session!

Friday Climb
Friday Climb
Hello Climbers! Just meet at the yellow sign and introduce yourself :) From there we pair up to climb. If we have an odd number of people, we can make a rotating group of 3. There is also a self-belay area if you want to get in more climbing if in a group of 3 or arriving earlier. If the event you are planning to go to only has one or 2 people on the ‘attending’ list, we encourage organising a climbing partner in advance so you can make sure you have at least one other person there to climb with! Feel free to reach out on the event wall or message a host :) Meet up will start at 6pm but if you want to start earlier you certainly can, but again you will need to organise a climbing partner in advance. New climbers are welcome, however your mandatory induction takes about 15/20mins. Harnesses, shoes and chalk bag can be hired also. Current pricing for Hard Rock here: https://www.hardrock.com.au/prices/

Walk & Lunch : Burnley to Molly Rose Brewery | 7.5km @ 5.5km/h
Starting from 'Friends of Mine' cafe in Burnley, we walk along the Yarra Trail for a short 6.6km walk to the Molly Rose Brewery for some lunch. If you like a morning coffee, arrive earlier to grab a coffee ***before*** the meeting time. We meet at 10:20am for a 10:30am start. If you arrive late or you're waiting for your coffee order, you can catch up on the trail or meet at the destination. We leave on time to ensure we get to the venue as it opens at 12pm. Winter hiking season starts very soon. If you're new to the group, come along and meet some of the regular hikers and suggest your favorite hiking locations for the coming months. The pace will be a moderate pace (\~5.5km/h). We will not be stopping often to regroup. I will pause at the turns to help ensure no one misses them. **By attending, you agree to match the pace and stay in sight of the group or be comfortable navigating your own way to the destination.** With the variability of this kind of event I will book a best guess close to the event and we will find extra tables or seats on the day if needed. We arrive just as the venue opens. **This is a one way hike and you make your own way home.** It's recommended you take public transport. The finish location is a short walk from Victoria Park train station, or to nearby 86 trams on Smith St. By attending, you agree to drink responsibly and take public transport if you're drinking. **What to bring:** * Water bottle * Appropriate clothing if it's windy or possibility of rain * Hats/Sunglasses/Sun protection if it's sunny **MEETING LOCATION** Friends of Mine Cafe https://maps.app.goo.gl/VLwPK9HXLkB4E8o78 Tap on the map below to get the pin location for the exact meeting spot. **LIABILITY WAVER** The organiser of this group cannot accept any liability for any loss, damage, injury or accidents to participants or their property on this event.
