Social Pub Crawl
**[Early Bird Discount](www.eventbrite.com/e/1984805152641/?discount=Meetup)**
### ✨ What Is the Social Pub Crawl?
A relaxed and social pub crawl designed to help people connect naturally while enjoying a night out in Dublin.
This is **not a massive party crawl** and not a tourist tour.
It’s a friendly, international experience where drinks, short social games and good conversations come together in an easy and natural way.
Whether you come alone or with friends, you’ll quickly feel part of the group.
### 🍻 How It Works
We’ll visit several pubs in the city centre, staying around **30–40 minutes in each one**.
At every stop, the organizer will run a **short and simple social activity**.
These games are designed to:
* Break the ice naturally
* Help people interact without pressure
* Work well in busy, noisy pubs
Between activities, there’s plenty of time to chat, grab a drink and enjoy the atmosphere.
🏆 In each activity, points are awarded to several participants.
At the end of the night, **the 3 people with the most points win a free drink**.
### 🍀 Who Is This Event For?
Absolutely everyone.
New in Dublin, long-time residents, expats, locals, shy people, outgoing people — all are welcome.
You don’t need to drink alcohol, be loud, or be “good at games”.
The only requirement is being open to meeting new people in a relaxed way.
### 💬 A Friendly & Comfortable Atmosphere

Running this thing costs over €200 a year (yep, all out of pocket for now 😅).
If you’d like to chip in, we’d really appreciate it:
* [PayPal](https://paypal.me/meetuppay)
* [Revolut](https://revolut.me/michelf9a) (you can pay with your card, no need to be on Revolut!).

Cheers and see you soon!

📚 Books & Social 🍸
📚Reading books and discussing them are two distinct experiences! Conversations about books and sharing insights help us better appreciate literature and enrich our lives.
Let's grab a drink (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) and discuss books we're currently reading or have recently enjoyed—whether poetry, fiction, or non-fiction. Bring your physical book or e-reader.
There's no formal structure or agenda—just books and good conversation.💬
It's a perfect place to get book recommendations and rediscover your reading momentum if you've hit a slump. We welcome readers of all backgrounds and interests!
⚠️**Something Happened?**
If something unpleasant happened to you, it may happen to others. Even if it seems minor, don't hesitate to reach out to me.
🔍 **How to find us?**
* When I reach the venue, I'll leave a comment in the meetup where the group is seated. Normally, the booking is in my name, so you can ask the staff for the group.
* If you're unable to find us, leave a comment in the meetup page. I'll be able to guide you.
We highly encourage you to move between tables and strike up conversations with fellow book lovers. These discussions about literature and reading recommendations are often the highlight of the event!
As an organizer, I'm always looking for feedback about the event and suggestions for new events, so feel free to suggest ideas to me. 💡
I look forward to seeing you all! 😊
Saturday - Events, Drinks and Dancing
You are invited to come and enjoy this social event. it's open to all age groups. As usual you will be able to meet friends and soon to be friends in a great bar for drinks and social conversation.
Dress to impress - we tend to frequent establishments with a smart and neat dress code. Any thing less means you may be turned away by the door staff. It should be quite easy to find me/the organiser.
There may be a second location for those that are dressed well and want to drink, chat and dance for the remainder of the night :)

Let’s play... Mothership / Hex and the City / Eclipse Runners
Join us every Sunday and tell a story as a group by playing a beginner-friendly roleplaying game. Every week we have 2-3 different games. All materials provided and rules are explained at the start of each game, you just need to bring your imagination.
🎭 **This week's facilitators:**
* 🧑🚀 **Axel** with more sci-fi survival horror in *[Mothership](https://www.tuesdayknightgames.com/pages/mothership-rpg)* *\- Who Goes There?* The Euro-Canadian colony on the planet New Moravia has been growing steadily since settlement began 50 years ago. The natural next step in its development has been the construction of a space elevator. However, the region in which the elevator is being built is a wild and desolate one, far from the main settlements and home to unpleasant predators. You have been hired to provide additional assistance on-site - security, scientific, mechanical and the like. A straightforward enough job: working this remote station behind the safety of automatic security systems…but the storms are gathering, and you’re not entirely sure that howling is just the wind…
* 🌇 **Vishnu** with *Hex and the City*: an urban fantasy clone of *[Lasers and Feelings](https://johnharper.itch.io/lasers-feelings)* where you are members of a monster hunting crew. You are all that stands between the forces of darkness and the innocent people that don't believe in them. Whatever hijinks and personal drama you have going on in the background, you have always managed to come through and save this City. Or at least, you have until SERENITY, THE CHOSEN ONE got herself grievously wounded in the last battle, leaving you with no prophetic visions to guide you, or convenient one-shot monster killing powers while she recovers. (Or maybe she's off "recuperating" with her demon boyfriend again, who knows).
* 🦾 **Adam** with *Eclipse Runners* \- a hack of *[Blades in the Dark](https://bladesinthedark.com/)* where you play a crew of cybernetically-enhanced runners on an isolated colony in the far future. Your fixer has hit paydirt and this could be your final run. A senior researcher at Aurora Biogen who wants to hire you to help them defect. As you arrive at Biodome 5 you will find it’s in lockdown - an experiment has escaped containment and is overwhelming the facility. You will need to get inside the Biodome, locate the target amid the lockdown, and extract them before the situation deteriorates further…

Rave Curious? Jessica Audiffred @ Otherworld
Have you always wanted to check out a rave… but didn’t know where to start?
This is your chance.
Whether you're a seasoned headbanger or completely new, we’d love to have you out.
On April 11, Jessica Audiffred is taking over Otherworld — and this is *not* your typical venue. It’s a massive immersive art space filled with surreal rooms, hidden passages, and interactive exhibits… and for this show, almost all of it is open.
So you’re not just going to a concert — you’re stepping into an environment:
🎧 A high-energy bass set that you *feel*
🌀 A labyrinth of trippy, explorable art spaces
👯♂️ A group to go with so you’re not figuring it out alone
You can lose yourself in the crowd, disappear into another room, find something completely unexpected, and then come back right as the drop hits.
No pressure, no “right way” to do it — just explore, move, and take it in at your own pace.
📍 Otherworld, Columbus
🗓 April 11
🕙 Doors open at 10:15 PM (music does not start in the exhibit space until 10:30 PM.)
If you’ve been even a little curious about what this scene is like, this is one of the most unique ways to experience it.
RSVP if you’re in 👇
There’s no cost to attend with the group—just the event ticket for Otherworld. Tickets are $40, plus some fees 🙄.
You can use code "BassBuds" or "Bangers" for $5 off, which makes it \~$43 out the door.

In person peer-led support group for survivors of complex trauma
**Complex Trauma Support Group**
Our group is intended for survivors of complex trauma. If you are here, it’s likely that so much of who you are and what you have experienced in this life is actually invisible to most people––to family, society, coworkers, and the people who are around you.
We are a peer-led group of survivors creating opportunities for ourselves and others to share our experiences, share support, and build relationships in kind community together. Survivor experiences might include: child sexual abuse, incest, child trafficking, and other experiences of people living with traumatic dissociation and complex PTSD.
**What to expect at your first meeting:**
Currently, we are offering a bi-monthly in person group at 2:00pm on the first and third Sunday of the month. The only criterion for joining the group is that you are a survivor of trauma wishing to have more kindness in your own life and share kindness with others, and that you agree to practice to group’s relational agreements available for view here: https://www.kindgroups.com/agreements. Joining the group is free of charge.
We ask that new people connect with us for 30 minutes on the phone or on zoom before coming to their first group, so that we can determine together that we are a good fit.
Our meetings last approximately 90 minutes. Participants are never required to share. You’re also welcome to choose a pseudonym and you will never be asked for private information. You are welcome to leave at any time.
The kindness that survivors can share when among others who have survived similar childhood experiences is something we rarely get to experience. Time spent with others who understand even a little bit more about us is a relief. Our hope is to help ourselves and others experience that we are not alone. We wish for our efforts to be a cause of kindness in our own lives and the lives of each other.
You can read more about the groups at www.kindgroups.com.
Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for April is "Water"
Speak Easy: true stories, told live.
The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast.
Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!

Humanist Program
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.
We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change. Unchained At Last's mission clearly meshes and addresses several of our Humanist Ten Commitments. Becca will educate us about an issue many of us may not be familiar with--but should be.
Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk.
Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. You can meet us in-person or attend online
