📚 Khobar English Book Club — Meetup #3 Every week at Khobar English Book Club, our members meet to discuss a piece of literature that we are all reading - the description for this week's meetup is below. 📖 Current Read: *The Pearl*, John Steinbeck A fable of hope, greed, and human nature, The Pearl tells the story of a poor pearl diver whose life is forever changed by a single discovery. What begins as a dream of opportunity gradually becomes a powerful exploration of ambition, social inequality, and the price we pay for pursuing our desires. Beautifully written and deceptively simple, Steinbeck's classic novella invites readers to reflect on wealth, destiny, family, and what it means to live a good life. The aim of this group is to get together and practice our German. Doesn’t matter if are a beginner or a native speaker. The goal is to speak and improve our German. Everyone is welcome! If the weather is good, look for us in the Biergarten. Pro Tip: Get there before 6:00 for happy hour pricing.

June meetup at the Library. We’ll play games and have casual conversation in Japanese and in English. All levels of Japanese ability, from non-speaker to native, are welcome. After the meetup we will go out to eat at a local restaurant.

We will meet at the Hofbräuhaus at 2:00 and then walk down to the Crew Stadium for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Final watch party.
