We will get-together at the KereKere cafe - at the community table just inside the cafe entrance.
*This is a group for people with intermediate and advanced level French who are able to engage in a conversation en français. It is not suitable for beginners.*
The cafe is close to the corner of Wellington Parade and Lansdowne St, East Melbourne in the Fitzroy Gardens. It takes about 5 minutes on Tram 75 from Flinders St Station, or 15 minute walk.
Car parking around Fitzroy Gardens on Sundays now is $2 per hour with a 4 hour limit, Some parking is limited to 1 hour even on Sunday. And occasionally, if there is a game at the MCG for example there might not be much parking at all.

1000 Steps (Kokoda Walk) and Bellview Terrace Circuit - Social Walk - 10km.
**🌿 Spandex fitness Social Stroll: 1000 Steps + Bellview Terrace**
Ready to swap the treadmill for towering gums and skyline views? Join us for a 10km exploratory adventure through the iconic 1000 Steps Kokoda Memorial Walk and the sweeping heights of Bellview Terrace.
This isn’t a bootcamp—it’s a social saunter. Think more talkies than walkies: a relaxed pace, plenty of banter, and photo stops to soak in the Melbourne cityscape and coastal horizon.
**🚉 Meeting Options**
**Public Transport Crew**: Gather at Upper Ferntree Gully Station exit (Belgrave line).at 11.45 a.m. From there, we’ll head together to the trackhead, about a 20 minute (1.4km) walk. A train from Melbourne is expected there around 11.45 am.
**Car Crew**: Meet us at the 1000 steps cafe, near the start of the walk, just in from the car park at Ferntree Gully Picnic Ground.
**Everybody meet us at the 1000 steps cafe, near the start of the track next to the car park at 12.15 p.m for a 12.30 p.m start**
I can't guarantee the group will be there after 12.30, stragglers be warned, so please be on time.
Any issues message me, and being late isn't one of them.

**🧴 Essentials to Bring**
* Sunscreen (shade is patchy, and the Aussie sun is fierce!)
* Water (hydration = happiness)
* Comfortable clothes and shoes (spandex optional, but encouraged for maximum vibe)
Snacks to keep your energy levels up. Electrolytes and sweets if it's hot to keep your salts and sugars good
**☕ The Grand Finale**
We’ll finish back at the base, winding down at one of the cafes near the trailhead—perfect for a coffee, smoothie, or cheeky slice of cake after our shared adventure.

✨ Expect laughter, light sweat, and stunning views. This is less about conquering the climb and more about connecting, exploring, and enjoying the journey together.

**Note**: This will be my first trip to the 1000 steps, hence exploratory, although I've walked in many places throughout Australia, New Zealand and Victoria, I've not done this iconic walk before. I've heard it gets busy, and full of the spandex bunch with a time goal, but things should quiet down when we loop around one tree hill and head down via the terrace.

EGF Melbourne (http://www.melbournegamers.com/viewtopic.php?f=7) has been running for many years, almost 10 years here. We pride ourselves as a full day outing for any gamers wishing to find others who enjoy their passion. Whilst the name suggests Euro games, our play is not restricted to this genre with many wargamers, ameritrash fans, role players and others regularly attending.
Do I need to bring my own games ?
The club has a collection of games including titles such as 7 Wonders, Alhambra, Ra, Puerto Rico, El Grande, Wars of the Roses, Medici, Settlers of Catan, Looping Louie, Tichu, No Merci, Antike, I'm the Boss, Acquire, Terra Nova, Oltre Mare, Wrott & Swindlers, Bluff, Cash & Guns, Drunter & Druber, Undercover, Stone Age, Amun Re, Cleopatra & the Society of Architects, Power Grid, Ticket to Ride: Europe, Ticket to Ride: USA, Ticket to Ride: Marklin, Russian Railroads, Mombasa, Machi Koro, Castles of Burgundy, Bruges, Bora Bora, Trajan, Trans Europa, Trans America, Ysphan, Bombay, Kingdom Builder, Dominion, Hey That's my fish. Bring your own games or join in others.
But I don't know any Eurogames !
