Il nous arrive d’entendre cette formule : nos politiques ne sont pas à la hauteur. C’est évident dans le cas de l’écologie, puisque rien ou si peu n’est fait par nos gouvernements pour enrayer la machine infernale. Mais leur responsabilité, tout comme celle des multinationales et du fameux 1 %, n’est (presque) plus à prouver. Il existe pourtant d’autres causes, plus discrètes, qui conduisent l’écologie politique à l’échec : celles qui s’enracinent dans son propre camp. Structurellement, l’écologie, fruit de l’environnementalisme, s’est constituée comme une cause des élites. Dès les années 1970, ses militants, les ONG et certains politiques ont fait d’elle un objet de lutte pour privilégiés, morcelable, négociable et, surtout, profitable. Et, ce faisant, ils et elles ont réduit la lutte à une mise en scène, une morale abstraite, éloignée des citoyens et des citoyennes. À l’heure où les extrêmes droites s’organisent partout pour imposer leurs mots d’ordre identitaires et sécuritaires dans l’agenda politique — au détriment des mesures d’intérêt général pour le climat et la biodiversité — et alors que le discours anti-écologiste (*green backlash*) est porté très haut dans l’espace public, il est temps de contre-attaquer. Loin de se limiter à un constat d’échec ou à une distribution de bons et mauvais points sur l’action du mouvement écologiste depuis 50 ans, Clément Sénéchal proposera des pistes de solution pour sortir de cette impasse. Solutions qui devront nécessairement passer par une repolitisation du discours écologique, intégrant la question du traitement des inégalités aussi bien dans les pays industrialisés que dans ceux du Sud global.  Clément Sénéchal est un intellectuel et militant français engagé dans les domaines de l’écologie politique et de la critique sociale. Diplômé en sociologie et en philosophie politique, il a occupé le poste de porte-parole climat au sein d’une grande ONG environnementale pendant plusieurs années. Il est également auteur et chroniqueur, contribuant régulièrement à des publications telles que Reporterre et Frustration Magazine.​ En 2024, il a publié l’essai *Pourquoi l’écologie perd toujours* aux éditions du Seuil (aujourd’hui disponible en poche ), dans lequel il analyse les raisons structurelles de l’échec des stratégies écologistes dominantes. Dans cet ouvrage, aujourd’hui disponible en poche, il critique notamment la proximité entre certaines ONG environnementales et les grandes entreprises, qu’il considère comme un facteur de dilution des luttes écologistes.​ Clément Sénéchal est également actif sur les réseaux sociaux, où il partage ses réflexions sur l’écologie, la politique et les mouvements sociaux. Join us for a beautiful hike along Nat’Our Route 6, one of the premium trails of the NaturWanderPark Delux in the Luxembourg–Germany border region. This scenic route takes us through peaceful forests, rolling hills, and protected natural areas in the Our valley. A large part of the trail runs through a nature conservation area, offering quiet landscapes, diverse wildlife, and lovely viewpoints over the surrounding countryside. The route combines forest paths, natural trails, and open sections that make this hike both relaxing and rewarding. Friday evening sketching session at Villa Vauban. Every friday Villa Vauban is free between 6-9pm. To benefit from this we willl have a monthly sketch & sip session (in that order :)) using a specific room/painting in the museum. Note: While I will be at the museum at 6, to accommodate for people coming out later from work the meetup event is set at 7. Hello Friends! There is a forest in the north of Luxembourg, where at this time of the year millions of wild daffodils are blooming. It's an incredible view, almost impossible to capture in a photo. CFL is playing with us these days; there is either "Schienenersatzverkehr" between Luxembourg and Echternach or between Echternach and Wilwerwiltz. The replacement bus takes twice as long as we would need by car, that's why it is a full "car pool exercise" this time. We will need carpooling anyway if we want to leave the country once in a while, so let's get used to it! We will start in Lellingen, and we will partially follow the "Via Botanica", which is dedicated to the daffodils that grow only in that area in such large numbers. As usual, I've optimized the path a bit in terms of the distance to reach the picnic spot after about 7km. The weather will not be that great, no rain, but way too cold for a long picnic, so we will leave before we get too cold. We will then go back across the same yellow paradise and enjoy the view again, from a different perspective, then all the way down back to Lellingen. **Meeting Point:** We will meet at the start of the "Eisleck pad Lellingen". https://maps.app.goo.gl/irrXoCJgz9n9KmAr8 **Car Pool:** Please try to get in the carpool, everyone. https://groupcarpool.com/t/hryx9p Passengers may bring a pair of clean shoes for the return, although it's not expected to be extremely muddy this time. But you never know, you may want to be allowed to be a passenger with the same driver again in the future :) Drivers: You may need to plan 5-10 minutes for parking; it's a tiny village. **Public Transport:** As a fall-back in case you can't get a seat in a car, you can take Bus L11, leaving at 8:44 from "Gare Rocade, Quai 6" (back side of the Gare, near "Rotondes"). You will arrive in Ettelbrück at 09:58, then take the train RE 3809 towards "Troisvierges". You need to get off at Wilwerwiltz (10:34), then go left, cross the railroads, cross the river, and find the "Autopedestre", following it clockwise (going left) until Lellingen. This will take you less than 20 minutes, and you will meet the rest of the group there. **Disclaimer:** The hike is at your own risk, and please make sure to wear proper shoes and bring some water for yourself! This event will be on Saturday **28/03/2026.** **What we will do together** **1.** Cycle from Luxembourg gare **(front of Police station)** to Remerschen Youth Hostel (about 32km). **2.** Have a meal at the Youth hostel **(warm dining area inside the Youth Hostel).** Those who wish to do a shorter ride can take the **bus** from Remerschen back to Lux gare. **3.** Cycle from Remerschen to Wasserbilling gare (about 36km). If we maintain an average speed of about 18km/hour and have a total stop time of 90 minutes (including 1 hour meal at the youth hostel), we can finish the ride in 5 hours. **Getting home from the finishing point (Wasserbillig gare)** There are trains from Wasserbillig to Luxembourg Gare every 30 minutes. Also, there are buses going from Wasserbillig to other directions. **What to bring** 1\. Your bike in tip top condition\. 2\. Energy snacks\. 3\. Lots of fluids to stay hydrated\. 4. **Packed food** for the meal at the Youth hostel. **ALTERNATIVELY,** you can **order food** at Remerschen Youth hostel, if we get there before 14:00h. They close the kitchen at 2pm. To **guarantee our access** to the hostel even if their dining area is booked for a private event, I called them, and they said that I should email them to book space for our cycling group. Which I did. So, fingers crossed. **Disclaimer** If you decide to participate in this event, you are responsible for your own property and health. We thought of one of the interesting things that can be enjoyed at this time of the year. We will be meeting at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for a "Fish Fry" in Marian Hall on Friday, March 27th at 5:00 PM. It might be fun for you to experience what has become a tradition on the Fridays before Easter. They will have fried fish or baked fish, French fries and Cole slaw, as well as beverages, all for $16.00 for adults. They will have other beverages and desserts available for sale, as well. We have never tried this, and sometimes there are quite a few people at these events so we hope that we will be able to find each other easily. I'll try to have signs outside Marian Hall that Identify our group. We hope to have you join us!
