**Join us in June for a book club discussion of The Summer Book by Tove Jansson, followed by coffee or drinks nearby.** We’re welcoming the summer with this lovely classic by the beloved Finnish writer, illustrator, and artist Tove Jansson — a book full of warm days, island light, sea air, and slow conversations. Published in 1972, The Summer Book is a tender and joyful novel about a young girl, her grandmother, and the island where they spend the summer together. Through short episodes, Jansson captures nature, childhood, aging, grief, freedom, and the bond between generations. Come celebrate the beginning of longer days and warmer weather with us as we discuss this lovely book at Backstory Bookshop (downstairs). Dodgeball is back again! If you’ve been wanting to come out, this is an easy one to join. We’ll be playing for about 1.5 to 2 hours, you do not need to bring any equipment, and no experience is needed. We use a specific set of rules and equipment to make the games run better and keep them fun for everybody, not just people who already know how to play. If it rains, the event will be canceled.
