Let's sketch around The South Bank! Meet outside the Laurence Olivier Statue on the South Bank, a thriving hub of cultural activity and performers big and small! Nearest Tube Stops: Waterloo/Temple/Embankment Completely free of charge, no need to sign up, bring a friend! Feel free to drop in for the whole two hours or just short while if you'd prefer. Look for the tall ginger fella sketching away as the central meetup spot, but feel free to roam as far and wide as you like and sketch anything you damn well please! Please bring your own sketchbooks and pens/pencils. The plan will be to meet at 1pm, sketch for a couple of hours and meet back and chat at 3pm. Zero pressure to interact, network, impress in any way, this is just a way to get out and about and appreciate the joy of urban sketching and all the weird and wonderful creatures that inhabit this thriving metropolis. **Spring is here, the days are getting longer, and we're celebrating the best way we know how - with our latest Social Walk, Games & Pub Trip!** Yep and for this latest adventure, we'll be hiking along the along one of our favourite walking routes - along the waterways of east London, from Limehouse to Hackney 🌳 The event will start from St James Gardens, near Limehouse and to kick things off - we'll be starting with our usual mix of fun games designed to help you break the ice and help you meet some friendly new faces. We’ll then set off on our 2-3 hour walk up the Regent’s Canal, venturing past Mile End Park and through Victoria Park. It’s a countryside route with a strong sense of seclusion, despite being easily accessible by train. We’ll head out from Oxted and climb gently into wooded hills, following forest tracks and footpaths that weave through ancient woodland, open clearings, and chalk downland edges. This area feels especially peaceful — bare trees, wide skies, and long views when the canopy opens. Marden Park itself sits within a historic landscape shaped by farming, hunting, and estate woodland. The paths we follow link long-established tracks rather than formal parkland walks, giving the route a slightly wild, exploratory feel while still being well-defined. We’re bringing back Adult Field Day. Last year was a good mix of competition and just hanging out, so we’re doing it again with some new games mixed in. Think team-based challenges, simple races, and a few things inspired by game shows. You don’t need to be athletic. Most of the fun is just being part of a team and getting to know people you wouldn’t normally talk to. The goal isn’t really winning.
