Recently, we've been studying the "types" (patterns or pictures) of Jesus in the Old Testament in chronological order starting with creation. We will go all the way to David as a type of Jesus the King. As anyone who's attended before knows, we have open discussions. Our goal is always to grow in our love, knowledge, and relationship with Jesus and to have fellowship. We will meet on the patio of Samuel Beckett's Irish Gastro Pub to enjoy dinner & drinks and enjoy the music performed by the band "Got Yacht?" performed in front of the Shirlington Library. The Shirlington Village "Yacht Party" event will feature live music and entertainment, arts and crafts, and food & drink on the closed off streets of Shirlington Village. Admission is free. The Village at Shirlington is a "Sip and Stroll" property, meaning you can carry to-go alcohol beverages purchased from restaurants as you take in the sights and sounds of the block party on Campbell Ave. Free parking available in any of the five parking garages or the surface lot located in Shirlington. Hey Poetry Lovers! This group is on a roll. Here’s the gist: We meet at the **Capital One Café in Chinatown** from **12pm - 2pm** every other week. For enrichment, we start by reading and reflecting on a **“published poem”**, suggested by someone in the group. No advance preparation is necessary. Come join us for a fun, relaxing day of hanging out, arts & crafts, and board games at the NoVA Prism Center! We will be providing supplies for various arts and crafts, but feel free to bring your own project or supplies as well! We will also have board games ready for use for anyone not artistically inclined (\*cough\*like Velvet\*cough\*) who still wants to join in and chill with friends. Here is a non-competitive but a little up-pace ride. If you mountain bike regularly then this ride is for you. This is a No-Drop ride. Feel free to text or call if you need to 240-603-6948. Also please call me if you get separated from the group. Depending on the endurance and skill level of riders, this ride will be around 10 miles. The pace I aim to keep is no more than 7-8mph with rest stops as needed. We will wait for every rider at the trail crossings. About Fairland: 95% non-technical ride with few major climbs and no mandatory obstacles (they all have ride-arounds). Promise, no rocks. None! Anyway, there are a couple good places to stop and practice log-overs, and balance on the boardwalks, and some good flow trails. Cheers Nerdizens, Hope everyone's well. So as luck would have it, I'll hopefully be in DC Saturday, June 20th, to help celebrate and bid farewell to EveryDayPeople DC. My compadre Reg has made the difficult decision to close the place down. As such, Saturday will be there final day open. Reg is a good man who's been getting me slightly inebriated since I moved to DC back in the early 2000's lol. I was there when he first opened EveryDayPeople DC so it's only fitting I celebrate the brother as he closes shop and ventures on to other endeavors. If you enjoy good vibes, cool staff, great DJs, dope HipHop music and a drink or two, then make your way down to U. St and help me salute and pay respect to Reg and EveryDayPeople DC.

We are NPS Weed Warriors and Arlington Regional Master Naturalists and you should volunteer with us on Sunday, May 17 to learn about nature and remove invasive plants from everyone's favorite urban island. Meet us at the entrance to the bridge (on the parking lot side, look for the sign) at 10:00 and bring your garden gloves and loppers/pruners if you have them. If not, we can provide gloves and tools. Wear long sleeves and pants and don't forget a water bottle. We will have tasks ranging from easy (cutting English ivy and honeysuckle vines from trees) to hard (sawing down bush honeysuckle). Parking at TRI can be tight if it's a pretty day. When the parking lot is full, you can park in Rosslyn and take the trail down. If you can bike or walk or take public transit, that's wonderful.
