This is a peer support group for neurodivergent and neuro-affirming therapists and other healers in the mental health and somatic spaces. We'll meet the last Friday We'll have opportunities to socialize and grow our professional referral base in a fun, outdoor (and indoor when needed) environment. It's held on a goat farm in Silver Spring, MD so yes, you'll definitely get to be goofy around and with goats! Feel free to bring virtual and paper business cards and a snack to share if you choose to. There's a $35 fee per group which goes to cover the cost of nonalcoholic beverages and snacks. Feel free to bring a guest for free. I'll get us started with a brief ice-breaker activity or I might just pick a willing volunteer to help.

This epic event will run for two weeks, I want to create a MeetUp giving others, like myself, a way to meet new friends and get out there for any day you have available. Each day will be a duplicate event, giving everyone the ability to sign up for the day they have free. I will not be at every event as I work three days a week, but I will put in the messages the days I'll be there. The Metro Smithsonian is a great place to meet since it's right at one of the two entrances. The only two entrances are at 12th and 4th and Jefferson. If you want to go to one or several of the days just hit the attend and message those who are also planning on attending that day. You can coordinate the times as well. Let's make new friends and experience the 250 anniversary of our country.

This is a group for adults who want to ground in nature and connect to their creative selves in a warm and supportive environment. We'll meet weekly for 13 weeks (beginning June 26th) at a goat farm in Silver Spring, MD. We'll begin with a goat walk. That's right, we'll walk through the woods with goats and then focus on the chapters of Julia Cameron's book, *Walking in This World.* Maybe you want to dive deeper after having completed a facilitated group based on Cameron's first book, *The Artist's Way* or you want to jump right into exploring your inner landscape through writing and grounding in nature. You don't have to be a self-proclaimed or professional writer or artist to join. Just bring your curiosity, a copy of the book, something to write with and a commitment to attend all sessions if possible. Since the in-person portion of the group will be held at a private residence, I'll email registrants the address once they've signed up. Please dress in comfy clothes that might possibly be nibbled on by adorable goats, as the residence is also a goat farm. Wear closed toed shoes and feel free to bring water, a snack for yourself, bug spray and sunblock. In-person attendees will meet at 7 am. In the event of more than light rain, we'll skip goat walks and meet in the indoor office. There is an indoor bathroom on-site. For those joining on-line, plan to join at 7:30 am. You'll also need something to write with and a copy of the book.

Performer and burlesque historian Bebe Bardeaux, ranked #19 on the Burlesque Top 50 in 2024, will deliver a brief lecture on the history and culture of burlesque from its beginnings in the 19th century up to today. A full show will follow, featuring some of the most engaging burlesque and variety performers in the DC area. After the show, attendees can participate in a talk-back conversation with Bebe Bardeaux, along with the show’s producers, award-winning performer Delilah Dentata and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey alum Jim Dandy.

Join the House for it's Litha celebration! We'll gather around 3pm and our ceremony will begin no later than 3:30 to allow for some setup time and folks to arrive, since Rock Creek Park can be a little difficult to navigate to and within. This year, to celebrate the solstice, we'll be using some flower metaphors, specifically sunflowers, naturally. Hello Everybody! Join us this Saturday at 11 AM at the Fairfax Wegmans as we continue our Bible study and discussions. Recently, we've been studying the "types" (patterns or pictures) of Jesus in the Old Testament in chronological order starting with creation. We will go all the way to David as a type of Jesus the King. As anyone who's attended before knows, we have open discussions. Our goal is always to grow in our love, knowledge, and relationship with Jesus and to have fellowship. Welcome to the Fairfax Home Board Game Group. I have been running this group for 3+ years, every other Saturday. The group has evolved since I first started, so I thought I should update the description to more closely describe how it runs today. This group is hosted at my home in Fairfax and primarily plays hosted games, meaning a player owns the game and will teach others at the table how to play. Below are some tips for a great first visit and what to expect. *** **Tips for the Best Experience for Newcomers** 1. Check the event messages periodically, and more frequently as the event gets closer. If you see someone hosting a game you are interested in, respond to the post to reserve a space. 2. Watch a "how to play" video for the game you want to play. While the host will teach the game at the table, coming prepared will make for a better experience. Most hosts will post a link to a "how to play" video in their initial post. If you want to host a game feel free to post in the event and see if there is interest! 3. Arrive on time. Games tend to start promptly between 8:30pm and 8:45pm — I make it a rule not to wait past 8:45pm. Please also avoid arriving earlier than 8:15pm; if you get to the house before then, please wait in your car as we are usually still getting last-minute things ready. If you do arrive late you are welcome to come in, but depending on when you arrive there may not be a seat available. The last thing I want is for someone to drive all the way out only to miss the game, so please be on time! =) *** **What to Expect & General Tips** **Game Length** — Most games take anywhere between 2 and 3 hours, including the teach, which means you will typically only play one game per evening. Occasionally a shorter game wraps up early and that group may play a second, but that is more the exception than the rule. **Game Difficulty** — This group primarily plays medium to complex games, and while new players are always welcome — the host will teach you at the table! — it's worth knowing what to expect before you come. If you are looking to play games like Scrabble, Monopoly, Uno, or party games, this is probably not the right event for you. In three years I have seen only two party games played and zero classic board games. **Update Your Status** — Please be considerate of others who would like to attend but may be held back by space constraints. If you can no longer make it, update your status as soon as possible so others can attend — even if there is no waitlist.
