This session is about getting your writing done and meeting other writers in your area. When you show up, say hello to everyone, grab a drink, and get your writing tools ready. Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 6:30 PM on Wednesday evenings. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. Hello everyone! if you're here, that means you're interested in a book club for Latin Americans and honestly anyone who want to read Spanish translations of modern classics (think 1984, The Catcher in the Rye, or To Kill a Mockingbird) as a way build vocabulary and confidence. For the first book club, I'd like us all to just introduce each other and have a chill, no-stress chat to get a feel for the group. We willl be located a bar so grab a beer if you feel so inclined! The first book we'll be discussing is Las batallas en el desierto. This is a classic coming-of-age story set in 1940s Mexico City and is told from the perspective of Carlos, a young boy who experiences the loss of innocence through an intense love for his best friend's mother. Join this event to hang and recommend books to other folks who love to read. We will go to a cafe or bar to talk about our book recommendations. Then head over to a book store to purchase any new or old TBR books. This month we are focusing on recommending Romance books or books with love. We are starting at the Ripped Bodice in Brooklyn since they close at 6:30, then heading over to Whisk and Whiskey off 4th Ave. Feel free to join in at any point.
