Focaccia 10.04
Focaccia 10.04
Focaccia is one of Italy’s most beloved breads: soft, golden, fragrant, and wonderfully comforting. In this class, we’ll focus on the techniques that make all the difference—creating a dough that is light and airy, learning how to handle it gently, and giving it the right time to rise for that perfectly soft crumb and crisp golden surface. Expect a focaccia that is rich with olive oil, beautifully dimpled, and full of flavor, plus plenty of tips to recreate it at home with confidence. **Les Amis** is a women-only community of friendly souls. We provide access to hundreds of experiences that explore your passions and connect you with other event participants. **Check our website to learn more, and apply to join our community and events**: [lesamis.cc/apply](https://www.lesamis.cc/apply)

Offline Reading Party x Slow Art Experience
Offline Reading Party x Slow Art Experience
\*\*Les billets sont gérés via LuMa. Merci de [prendre ta place ici.](https://luma.com/avyfq29z)\*\* **📚 Join The Offline Club at Le Kawaa du Lucernaire for a very special edition of our cosy Offline Reading Party.** Lock your phone away and immerse yourself in a morning designed to recharge you — with a twist. This time, we're celebrating **Slow Art Day** by turning our books into works of art. Because here's the thing: your book *is* art. The cover, the typography, the texture of the pages, the way a sentence is constructed. We just rarely slow down enough to notice. This reading party is your chance to disconnect from screens, unwind from the daily buzz, and meet like-minded people — while rediscovering your book through a completely different lens. A little escape into a different world — where time slows down, people are open to connect, and you can truly focus on yourself. The perfect start to your weekend. ✨ *** **What to expect:** 📖 Peaceful (me-)time to read that book you've been meaning to start (or finish!) 🎨 A Slow Art session that might just change the way you read... forever 🤝 The chance to meet and connect with like-minded (wannabe) booklovers 💬 A space where connection comes easily — no rush, no pressure, no notifications 🫖 Community vibes, a welcoming atmosphere, and plenty of time to relax 📵 Valuable time offline that leaves you feeling rested and fulfilled 🇫🇷 🇬🇧 French & English friendly — all our events are bilingual, so you can comfortably speak either language *** **The Program:** **10:00 – 10:30 \| Arrive & Make Yourself at Home** **10:30 – 11:00 \| Slow Art Session** We'll begin by looking at our books the way you'd look at a painting in a museum: slowly, curiously, without rushing to "get through it." Led by an Art Therapist specialised in Museum Art Therapy and Book Therapy (yes, that's me, Stefania, your city leader 🙋‍♀️), this session will invite you to truly *see* your book before you read it. We'll also explore the idea of Slow Reading, because... did you know that's a thing too? **11:00 – 12:00 \| Dive Into Your Book** Your time to sit back and enjoy undistracted reading time — perhaps with fresh eyes after the session. **12:00 – 13:00 \| Connect With Others** Chat and connect with others, but only if you feel like it. Meet new people, share stories about your favourite reads, and enjoy meaningful conversations. We create laid-back spaces where talking to strangers is the norm and connection is made easy. *** **What to Bring** Your current read, a book with a cover that makes your heart sing, or both. Comics, poetry, graphic novels — all literature is welcome here. Come as you are, bring what moves you. *** **About your phone:** *Your phone will rest in our “phone hotel,” and we’ll be its bodyguards. But just so you know, if it magically disappears, learns to fly, or mysteriously breaks, The Offline Club can’t be held responsible.* *Not quite ready to let it go? No worries — just switch it off and keep it tucked away, out of sight.* *** We love and appreciate the venues that host our events! Please remember that your consumption gives the venues one more reason to love us back! *** **We can’t wait to swap screen time for real time with you.** Offline hugs, Stefania, The Offline Club Paris
\*\*\* Participation • Tarif standard : 50 € • Tarif solidaire : 35 € (RSA, chômage) \*\*\* Infos : [ilariainscriptions@gmail.com](mailto:ilariainscriptions@gmail.com) Avec amour, Ilaria Rubei www.ilariarubei.com www.facebook.com/ilaria.rubei Instagram : @ilaria.rubei

Yoga | Somatic Connection Circle - Community Practice
Yoga | Somatic Connection Circle - Community Practice
Join a gentle, community‑focused yoga class with somatic elements designed to help you drop into your body, slow down, and reconnect with yourself. We’ll move with breath, curiosity, and kindness—no perfect poses, just presence. After the practice, we’ll stay together for an “apres‑yoga connection” time: sharing, light conversation, or simply quiet presence together. Who this is for: * People who want yoga that feels soft, nourishing, and emotionally safe * Anyone interested in somatic movement (listening to the body, not pushing it) * Those who value connection and community over performance or perfection Come as you are. Bring your mat, and an open heart. This is your space to arrive, be, and belong.

The courts are normally not being used before we play, so we can get a little extra time playing. **Registration & Payments** Registration is 14€ per person, and you can sign up via PayPal through this event page. For alternative payments, check for available slots on the event page first. Then, submit your payment via https://revolut.me/jonathwu3q with a description of which event you are signing up for, and send the screenshot to one of us so that we can add you. *Please Note: If your name is **not** in the attendees list and you do not have confirmation from us, you will be turned away.* **Annual Membership Option** For regular players, there is the option to take out an annual membership. Happy badminton-ing! Kelvin (0603250357) and Vijay (0767341832), **FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS** 1. I don’t speak French, can I join? * Yes! We are an international group and everyone speaks English! 2. Are there still available slots? I can’t sign up! Help! * Check the bottom of the event page for availabilities. Once full, RSVPs will be closed. Sign up as early as possible because the events fill up very quickly. 3. I signed up, but I can’t make it! Can I get a refund? * No refunds for cancellations or no-shows. If you inform us early enough, we can try to find a substitute and refund you, but no guarantees. 4. Why can’t I get a refund? * We need a fixed number of participants to maximize court usage, court fees, team arrangements, and team rotations. Cancelations throw all of this off. 5. Do I need to bring anything? Water? Racquets? Birdies? * If you have your own racquet, that will be best! Otherwise, we have spare ones and we provide the shuttlecocks. Bring enough water to hydrate yourself.

AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machine’s? This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation? We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee. COUNT monthly event: Kitchen service at Van Buren Center's shelter
COUNT monthly event: Kitchen service at Van Buren Center's shelter
Come assist Van Buren Shelter (https://ymcacolumbus.org/locations/vanburen) staff in serving dinners and cleaning up on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Dinner for the women is 5-6 pm and for the families is 6:15-7:15 pm. There is ample free parking available in the shelter's lot. The recommended area to park is in green in the image above. There will be a new entrance for the time being. We are asking all volunteers to enter through the Donation Dock door, the orange mark on the image above. This door is located between the Single Adults and Family Shelter. You will see 2 large garage doors with a large green trash compactor in the center. Please head to the closest garage door to the building wall, with a ramp leading up. There, you will see a door with a sign stating instructions on how to enter the building. Please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will come and escort you into the building. If a staff member takes longer than 5 minutes, please call the front desk at 614-689-2020. This is a new process for us, and we do not want to keep you waiting! We appreciate your patience as we navigate this temporary change. The shelter needs a volunteer count the day before the event so sign-up ends Monday at 4:50 PM. Afterwards some of us go to the Omnipresent Atheists Weekly Meetup in progress to have a bit to eat or drink (http://www.meetup.com/omnipresentatheists/). Volunteers must be 14 or older. Since we will be working around families, the YMCA does not permit volunteering by individuals with convictions for violent or sexual crimes. The YMCA reserves the right to run background checks on volunteers. For questions, comment on this page or contact: Andrew, awhit12@yahoo.com, (614)937-5802 (cell). Please let Andrew know if you volunteer anytime other than our COUNT events so that he can count your hours toward our service record.
Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
[The Board Walks](http://www.theboardwalks.com/) are for curious people who love deep conversations. If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!). **HOW IT WORKS** **Step 1: Bring a topic** Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event. **Step 2: Circle up & share** We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds. **Step 3: Walk, talk & float** We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!" **Step 4: Feel more alive** Two hours flies by. You're back where you started — but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times. *For more details, read our [Orientation Guide.](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation)* **HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC** A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about. Recent topics include: * "What are you passionate about right now?" * "What makes a good friend?" * "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?" * "How do you want to be remembered?" * "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?" Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter. **WHAT TO EXPECT** This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together, beyond small talk. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.* But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here. **FAQ** * Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk! * We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space. * We welcome people of **all** ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space. * Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know. * Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are welcome — please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic! **LOGISTICS** * If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event. * This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). This format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs. * Read our [Orientation Guide](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation) for full details. * If you enjoy the event, send **[this](http://www.theboardwalks.com/)** to a friend or sign up for our **[newsletter](https://theboardwalks.beehiiv.com/)**. We're in multiple cities with more on the way. 🤠👋 **IF YOU WANT TO GO DEEPER...** [The Board](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board) is the next step: a high-trust collective for renaissance people devoted to creating, connecting, and building lives that light us up. * This is a global HQ for people who crave big talk, deep connection, and dream collaborations with people across industries. If the walks feel like a spark... The Board is the fire. Apply [here](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board).
