Manhattan Bi weekly Social Anxiety Group @ Brookfield Place
This support group will be held at Brookfield place.
We will be on the second level by "Hudson Eats"(the food court) to the immediate right of the escalators at the oval table. Look for a meetup sign with "SA Meetup" written on it on one of the tables. Text/call Richard at (917)576-4660 if needed. The purpose of the support group is to provide an environment where we can share our struggles with shyness and social anxiety. There is no magic solution to your struggle. Different techniques works with different people. The important thing is that you make an effort and do something. The way I run Sunday support group depends on the size and dynamics of the group. Typically is as follows: 1) Each person has the ability to discuss a topic that needs to be related to shyness and social anxiety. It can be something that you have been struggling with, or it can be a recent incident that triggered your anxiety. 2) We will start with 2 minute of self-introduction where you share something about yourself with everyone such as interest, hobbies or passion. 3) Come and go as you please. You don't need to speak, if you don't feel comfortable. I will do my best to facilitate the discussion and keep it on topic.

Our First Meetup: An Ivy League Day Trip to CT
**CONNECTICUT CALLING ... welcome to our new group! For our very first Meetup let's do a day trip to New Haven, CT, where food and culture are Ivy League ...**
**ABOUT NEW HAVEN**: Founded in 1638 at the mouth of the Quinnipiac River by English Puritans, New Haven has since grown to become the “Cultural Capital of Connecticut,” and the second largest city in the state. With Yale University, a handful of theaters and museums, an eclectic mix of dining options located within walking distance of one another, and without a doubt its prime location makes it the most walkable city center between New York City and Boston. Bring your culinary and artistic appetites for a thorough sampling of the wonderful food, history, and culture this coastal city with the small-town vibe has to offer.
**GETTING THERE:** we will meet at Grand Central to take the 8:02AM Metro-North to New Haven.
AGENDA: Once we arrive in New Haven at 10:20AM, we’ll explore town on foot. Make sure you have comfortable shoes on.
**Lots of things to see and do in New Haven.**
* Goes without saying we’ll visit Yale
* The claim is disputed, but if you believe New Haven lore—and even the Library of Congress does—the hamburger was invented by New Haven.
* Plus you can't visit New Haven without embroiling yourself in the city’s most significant debate: which restaurant makes the best pizza?
* [https://www.tripsavvy.com/top-things-to-do-in-new-haven-ct-4140280](https://www.tripsavvy.com/top-things-to-do-in-new-haven-ct-4140280)
We'll check it out for ourselves.
**PLEASE NOTE Day's agenda remains subject to changes. Come with an open mind for adventures and whatever the day might bring.**
**GETTING AROUND: W**e'll walk on foot and/or share an Uber to get around town.
**DURATION**: This is an all day event but you can leave on your own at any time. We won't judge. Much.
**RETURN TRAIN FROM NEW HAVEN TO NYC**: two trains on the 0:17 and 0:39 of every hour.
**WEATHER**: This Meetup is rain, snow or shine
**LIABILITY WAIVER: come prepared. Participate at your own risks. Hold no one liable. Etc, etc.**
