Make to the most of the bright evenings and join us for a social cycle out to Howth Village. Total distance 25 km. Mostly flat with an optional climb up to the Summit. Here is our plan for the evening. 1️⃣. We leave at 7.00pm from the sails sculpture on Clontarf Road. 2️⃣. Cycle out to Sutton Cross along the coastal cycle path 3️⃣. Here we turn right and cycle directly over Howth Hill 4️⃣ Short stop in the village for a coffee and a chat, then back by shorter route aiming to be back to Clontarf by 9.00pm 🪖PLEASE WEAR A HELMET and bring a tube in case you have a puncture WAIVER & RELEASE: We are a group composed of volunteers. ***Mountain Skills for Only €120 / course*** Ever wanted to learn the skills you need to become a competent navigator in the Irish mountains, the UK, the Alps or beyond! As a fully qualified mountain guide and course provider for Mountaineering Ireland and the UK, I run Mountain Skills which is a nationally accredited course and is delivered in an upland environment. Hiking in Ireland can be challenging not only because of its wilderness, but the island has very little sign posted hiking trails in the mountains or hills. In addition to this, as being an island in the Atlantic we experience the forces of nature; storms and weather events. In other words, Ireland is probably the best place in Europe to learn a new outdoor skill like Mountain Skills. The aim of this course is to help you learn the skills you need to get out hiking in the hills and mountains independently, safely and responsibly. You will learn how to navigate with confidence by any type of weather conditions. A Mountain Skills course is run over 2 days in an upland environment and covers: Map reading, map description, map scale, contour lines, land and ground features, navigation legs, simple navigation techniques, setting the map, the 5 D, estimation of direction & destination, grid reference, mountain hazards, hypothermia, mountain environment, timing, pacing, route planning, route card, emergency procedures, personal equipment, safe movement skills, river crossing and much more… Some level of fitness is essential in taking part in this course. Come join me for a very interesting walk of Lucan House grounds only. Conservation works are being carried out in Lucan House presently, so there is no access to the house and no toilet facilities during this walk. Please wear appropriate footwear Date: 10th of June Meeting: At the main gates of Lucan House Demesne at 10.45am. Walk will take approx 90 minutes. Although the tour is free, I will collect €5 per person before our tour as a donation for the Old Lucan Historical Society of which two of the members, volunteers, will be our guides on the day. You will be able to visit the following: The medieval church in the Demesne. View the stables and dairy of Lucan House. Visit the Bath House ( former medieval chapel) in the grounds See the exterior of Lucan House. See the 'Sarsfield' a monument by James Wright, with no Sarsfield connection. The others are regulars and we coordinate in a private WhatsApp group\*\* We play a 6v6 game every Wednesday @ 8:00PM in SportsCo, Dublin 4. The pitch we use is spacious an ideal for 6v6 (ball/all bibs provided). To encourage passing and flowing football, goals can only be scored from inside the penalty area. Games are played in a friendly atmosphere and slide tackles are prohibited. We don't have stick keepers and use a last-man back policy. There is a core group of regular players who have played with us for years but we also invite a handful of pickup players to play from this app. If pickup players like the vibe they might have the option to subscribe on a longer-term basis. This game has been running on the same pitch for over a decade. The games are good quality with good technical players and always played in a nice, competitive atmosphere.

Weekly pickup game, been running consistently for a while now. Good group of players, decent level -not too serious, not a kick-about either. 6 a side pitch, ball and bibs sorted. **€6 per person** — covers the pitch booking in Cabra plus a bit for the equipment. I book the pitch, show up early, bring the balls and bibs, sort the teams on the night. I'm playing too, so it's not a managed session — just someone keeping it organised so it actually happens every week. Bring boots that work on turf, no metal studs, shin pads if you're used to wearing them, and water. We cap at 14. If you book and can't make it, cancel early so someone off the waitlist can jump in.
