We will play the games together in GERMAN and I will moderate the game and support you when having difficulties unterstanding questions and correct your German throughout the gamel :) The games are for up to 5 Players. So we will be a small group. Please note: At the boardgames cafe we are meeting every person has to pay 2,5 € per hour for the space they are offering. Die Autorinnen und Autoren des Abends lesen aus ihren bislang unveröffentlichten Kurzgeschichten, lyrischen Texten, Erzählungen, Romanen, manchmal auch aus Theaterstücken. Die Autoren stellen nicht sich selbst, sondern ihre Texte der Kritik. Wir verstehen uns als Arbeitsbühne. Deshalb wird bei uns nach den Lesungen nicht geklatscht. Die Texte werden nach der Lesung des Autors auf handwerkliche Stärken und Schwächen „abgeklopft“. Es geht im Forum daher nicht um weltanschauliche Debatten. Im Idealfall hat der Autor/die Autorin nach einer Lesung und der Kritik verstanden, wo die Stärken und Schwächen seines Textes liegen, woran es seinem Text noch fehlt, was er ändern sollte und wo er bei seiner Überarbeitung ansetzen kann. Der Abend endet gegen 22.00. Im Anschluss können Sie mit den Autoren im Café der Schwartzschen Villa noch ins Gespräch kommen und manches aus dem Literaturbetrieb erfahren. Wenn Sie selbst im Autorenforum lesen wollen, gibt es einige Dinge zu beachten. Wir bitten Sie sehr herzlich, sich mindestens einmal vor Ihrer ersten Lesung bei uns mit unseren Gegebenheiten vertraut zu machen. Each speech is evaluated by a designated evaluator who provides feedback on strengths and areas for improvement. **Table Topics:** Table Topics is a segment where impromptu speaking skills are tested. The Table Topics Master presents a series of short, unprepared speaking challenges or questions, and members or guests are invited to come to the podium and give a brief, improvised response. **Evaluations:** Following the prepared speeches and Table Topics segment, evaluators provide constructive feedback to speakers. These evaluations focus on content, delivery, body language, and time management. The goal is to help speakers improve their speaking skills. **Reports and Functionary Roles:** The meeting may include various functionary roles, such as the Timer, Grammarian, Ah-Counter, and others, who report on their observations and contributions to the session. These roles help members improve their language and time management skills. **General Evaluator:** The General Evaluator provides an overall assessment of the meeting, highlighting what went well and offering suggestions for improvement. They may also evaluate the evaluators' performance. **Awards and Recognitions:** Toastmasters sessions often conclude with awards and recognitions, including the Best Speaker, Best Evaluator, and Best Table Topics Speaker. Shut-Up & Write Zehlendorf meets Fridays, except during school holidays, following the standard format of 15 minutes to say hello, followed by two 45 minute writing sessions and a break in between. The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. The topic for March is "Our Bodies, Ourselves" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome.
