Child-Free & Chuffed: Back at the Table
Child-Free & Chuffed: Back at the Table
After a bit of a festive hiatus (December has a habit of stealing momentum…), we’re very pleased to be getting *Child-Free & Chuffed* back together again. For this meet-up, we’ve booked a table in a **semi-private room** at **The Mug House**, a lovely wine bar tucked under the arches of London Bridge itself, just by Borough Market. They serve great wine alongside beer and food, making it an ideal spot for a cosy January catch-up. As ever, the vibe will be relaxed, comfortable and inclusive - no pressure, no agenda, just good conversation and easy company with fellow child-free-by-choice folks. With space for **10 people** and a nook to ourselves, this one will be perfect for settling in and chatting properly. The table booking under the name Dave and is for 2 hours (18:00-20:00), giving us time to explore the market, riverside or local pubs afterwards. Whether you’ve been before or this will be your first time, it’d be great to see you and start the year together feeling connected and, as always, quietly chuffed about our choices.

This talk explores how we built tooling to make migrations visible and actionable: custom linting tools to detect deprecated patterns, migration dashboards to track them, and GitHub annotation integration to catch issues in PRs without failing CI during the migration. **Kyle Johnson** - *Co-Founder at Flagsmith* \- 'Feature Flags: A Safety Net in the AI Era' AI's promise - speed and efficiency - is only half true. It's fast, but it's not efficient. Teams still need to comb through, test, and fix AI-assisted code in order to minimise risk. Without feature flags, the bottleneck simply moves. Learn how developers can implement release strategies that remove that bottleneck. **Elena Calvo Carazo** - *Software Engineer at TryHackMe* \- 'Models Gone Rogue: Securing AI Integrations' Your AI features work great... until someone tries to hack them. Unlike traditional REST calls, natural language inputs and unpredictable model outputs expand the attack surface in ways developers don't expect. This talk explores four real-world vulnerability categories (prompt injection, malicious output, denial of wallet, and data spillage) and practical defence-in-depth techniques you can start implementing today to prevent them. **Our Hosts** **Accurx** is on a mission to make healthcare communication simple. The platform is used by thousands of healthcare teams across the NHS to connect with patients and colleagues quickly and securely. #WPLDN - January 2026: Open Source Sustainability & Digital Freedom
Join us for another evening at #WPLDN, where we're diving into the heart of what makes WordPress possible and exploring how organisations protect access to information when it matters most. This month features a fascinating combination: understanding how hosting companies invest back into the open-source ecosystem, and a rare, **unrecorded session** on keeping websites accessible under challenging circumstances. Two talks that remind us why community and resilience sit at the core of everything we do. 📅 **Date:** January 29, 2026 ⏰ **Time:** 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM ⬅ **EARLIER TIME** 🎟️ **Cost:** Free (Registration Required) **Session 1: Beyond hosting: How Kinsta invests in WordPress and Open Source** **🤝 Speaker:** Marcel Bootsman ([Kinsta](https://kinsta.com/)) The success of WordPress and countless other technologies hinges entirely on the dedicated, often unpaid, work of open-source contributors. But how can companies that rely on this ecosystem ensure its long-term health and sustainability? Marcel will take us beyond hosting to explore the mission and impact of the Kinsta Community Sponsorship Program. This initiative actively sponsors contributors across various facets of WordPress (Core, documentation, accessibility, polyglots) and other critical open-source projects. If you've ever wondered how commercial success and open-source citizenship can work hand in hand, this session is for you. **About Marcel:** Marcel is the Partnerships & Community Manager EMEA at Kinsta. He has been active in the WordPress community since 2010 and ran his own WordPress agency until 2020. A dedicated community contributor, Marcel is (or has been) a WordCamp organiser, forum moderator, and translation editor. When he's not looking at a screen, he enjoys walking, working out in the gym, riding a bike, and playing tennis. **Session 2: Keeping sites up when stuff goes down** 🤝 **Speaker:** Austin Meakin ([Amnesty International](https://www.amnesty.org/)) What happens when governments or other actors try to take websites offline? Austin works at Amnesty International on the Humanity Open Source WordPress theme and a number of websites running on it. In this session, he'll explore online censorship and surveillance, and what's being done to keep sites accessible when things get complicated. ⚠️ **Please note:** This session will **not be recorded or streamed** due to the sensitive nature of the content. If this topic interests you, make sure you're there in person! **Schedule:** 🔹 **6:00 PM** – Doors Open & Networking 🔹 **6:30 PM** – Welcome & Session 1: Marcel Bootsman 🔹 **7:30 PM** – Short Break & Networking 🔹 **7:45 PM** – Session 2: Austin Meakin 🔹 **8:30 PM** – Social & Wrap-Up 📢 **RSVP Now!** Don't miss this chance to learn how the WordPress ecosystem sustains itself and discover the vital work being done to protect digital freedom. Free Meditation & Yoga on Thursdays in Greenwich @ 7.30pm
Free Meditation & Yoga on Thursdays in Greenwich @ 7.30pm
Hello there! - We'd like to welcome you to Free weekly meetings hosted by Shalini & Manitu which take place at the: Greenwich West Community & Arts Centre, 141 Greenwich High Rd, SE10 8JA, on Thursday evenings from 7.30pm until 9.00pm With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we normally sit on chairs to achieve yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats and no special clothing required. All across the globe, many are seeking new sources of energy. Meanwhile, the most transformative energy of all is hiding in plain sight, within us. It's natural, sustainable, and infinitely renewable. It's called inner kundalini energy. And everyone already has it — everyone!. It is often likened to an inner feminine or motherly energy which automatically knows about us and what is needed to help us restore balance and harmony within our subtle being. It works spontaneously, effortlessly, organically and cannot be paid for. Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple time-honoured technique that lets you tap into that energy and harness its power to become better balanced and better connected to yourself — emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually If you're having trouble juggling the challenges in your life, Sahaja Yoga Meditation might well help you manage stress, master your emotions and find solutions to your problems . You may enjoy better health, better focus, and a deeper understanding of the universe and your place in it. Meditation is not just for mystics and monks. Sahaja Yoga meditation is for everyone. Anyone can do it. It's that easy. But with the Sahaja Yoga experience, you'll quickly realise, it isn't your typical Meditations 'R Us type class. It's much more than just feeling peaceful and relaxed. Sahaja Yoga Meditation has many layers, varied and deep. Explore at your own pace, in your own way. Our volunteer experts are always available to help. Ready to plug into your inner energy? A Sahaja Yoga Meditation class is a great way to start. A few minutes of your life may be all it takes to connect to your inner energy and light the path to lifelong transformation. Sahaja Yoga is more than a temporary solution or quick relief — it is a journey, rather than a destination. It's all about energy — guaranteed pure and carbon neutral. You can never have too much of it. The best part? All classes are free. No strings, no catch. Everyone is welcome. Bring a friend, bring your self — all are welcome. We have a web site here in London too which you can visit for more info about weekly meetings: www.sahajayogalondon.co.uk (http://www.sahajayogalondon.co.uk/) Join us on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/London.Free.Meditation) and Twitter (https://twitter.com/SahajL)

Free In-Person Meeting: Get Over Losses & Betrayals, Build Lasting Relationships
Free In-Person Meeting: Get Over Losses & Betrayals, Build Lasting Relationships
This is a free, in-person meeting on the subject of betrayals, losses and how to get over them so you can build lasting relationships. Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse. Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well. Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship. Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action? Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships! Break free from self imposed limitations Here we will discuss: • How to “erase” the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes. • Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you? • Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it? • Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love? • Fights & arguments - what's really behind them? • What underlies “corrosive criticism” or the need to invalidate self or others? • How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change? • Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them? • How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about? • How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career? Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general. Learn where painful experiences are “stored” and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can “erase” those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become “toxic” personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person. Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life. We look forward to having you join us! This class is sponsored by the Dianetics & Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.

COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014. Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
