I'm launching my independently-published, ***Field Journal: Mindfulness in Nature - Europe***, a guided pocket journal for slow walkers, quiet watchers, and anyone who finds peace in the natural world, and I'd love to celebrate it with you! **How the afternoon flows:** 1: Arrive, settle in & mingle Help yourself to a few sweet and savory snacks, bring your own drink (and snacks), and get to know the people around you. No rush. 2: The journal: its story & how to use it We'll explore the journal together — where it came from, what inspired it, and how to make it your own out in nature. 3: Colour, write & doodle Choose a bird or nature colouring page and settle in. I'll share some gentle journaling prompts to write alongside your art — and doodle to your heart's content too. 4: Free time — yours to enjoy Keep creating, chat with others, browse the journals, or simply sit and be. The topic for April is "Water" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect.
