The newest addition to Dublin Go club’s meet-ups! Board used to be an alcohol free board game cafe. Now it specialises in low and no alcohol drinks, and serves some food too! It’s also a good venue for some of our younger members to attend! There are plenty of board games to try there, but come along on Wednesday evenings to learn and play the great board game Go! All levels welcome, as players will always find someone happy to teach new players or provide a challenge to experienced players!

There's been a bit of demand for a meet-up on the south side of the city so we're going to trial a new location. You'll find us in the main bar. This is a casual meet up for people who want to play boardgames. Lots of people bring plenty of games and rules will always be explained so don't worry if you're new to the hobby and you don't have anything to bring along or think you won't know how to play. Late comers always welcome, you just might have to wait a little for a game to open up. **The meet ups are free of charge but we do ask that people support the bar by buying food and/or drink. The bar is very accommodating to us and it's important that we support them in return. Last year, Netflix announced that it was dropping REST completely in favour of GraphQL. It is undoubtedly one of the popular kids on the Development playground right now. GraphQL is a new way to build APIs, one that's easier, faster, better, and more flexible than the old RESTful API system, or at least that's the promise. In this session, a REST developers' Assessment of Spring GraphQL, Željko will cover the basics of Spring GraphQL, explore its strengths and weaknesses, and determine whether it is a better option for your company than a conventional REST API. ## **Talk 2:** Trash Talk - Optimising Java Garbage Collection Understanding how Java organises memory is important for every Java professional, but this particular topic is a common knowledge gap for many software professionals. With the help of Željko, this talk explores how memory management can help you improve performance effectively, helping you understand the different parts of Java memory and the various garbage collectors so you can select your preferred one.

This event is beginner Friendly. More experienced players are still free to come along. I will explain the rules before the first game at 7:15 so please arrive on time if you're new. The rules may be different than other versions of mafia that you played. There is limited capacity so we can't accept every RSVP request. A weekly board game meet up in "Mc Mahon’s Bar and Eatery" which is a pub. We get our own section, it's wheelchair friendly and parking is free! 🙂 Whether you are new or a veteran player you are all are welcome! General guidelines are: 1. Avoid handing drinks to people OVER a game. 2. We cannot take responsibility in the event of theft so keep your valuables close to you. 3. Strictly over 18+ only. The "rules" would be: 1. Be respectful to each other. 2. Don't be a creep. 3. Be patient to players of all skill levels. Failure to be a decent human being\* will jeopardise your participation in future events. The pub owner is really nice and are letting us use the space so if you can - please buy a tea, coffee or a drink on the night to support them if you can but don't feel obligated to do so. Just a note for those coming by car from Dublin: 1. I highly recommend using the motorway then driving into the pub. During social tennis, I offer some coaching advice and matchplay tactics if players are interested in that. It is suitable to all players, whether you're a total beginner or an experienced player, everyone is welcome. Matches will last 15 - 30 minutes depending on the level which is generally a wide range of beginners to advanced players.
