Midweek Social_Dublin
Midweek Social_Dublin
**Group Goal** To create a relaxed and welcoming midweek social space in Dublin where people can unwind after work, make genuine new connections and enjoy the city together. **Who We’d Love to Meet** Friendly, open-minded people living or working in Dublin — professionals, creatives, internationals, locals or anyone looking to expand their social circle and meet good people. **What We Do** After work socials, pool games, cards, casual drinks, chats, pub nights and relaxed evenings around the city with a good atmosphere and easy conversation 🍻
Dataviz Workshop for Dublin Tech Week
Dataviz Workshop for Dublin Tech Week
As part of Dublin Tech Week you are invited to a special edition of Dublin Dataviz! Instead of our usual speaker events, this evening will be a data visualisation workshop - a chance to get your hands dirty and get visualising some Irish data! No prior experience of any data visualisation software or coding is required. As places for this workshop are limited, we are charging a small fee of €5 to secure your spot - this will all be spent on pizzas on the night. Join us for what will be a great evening - with the inevitable pints in Arthur's bar afterwards.
Phoenix Park Wednesday Evening Run
Phoenix Park Wednesday Evening Run
Join for the group for a 10km run in the Phoenix Park on Wednesday evenings. We start running at 6:15pm SHARP. The pace will be approximately 5:30/5:40 mins/km, ideally you will need to be able to run at this pace to stay with the group. We meet opposite the entrance to the Papal Cross car park, on the small side road just off the Acres Road. If you have any questions, please let me know, Thank you Maeve
Wednesday Meet-up in D8
Wednesday Meet-up in D8
There's been a bit of demand for a meet-up on the south side of the city so we're going to trial a new location. You'll find us in the main bar. This is a casual meet up for people who want to play boardgames. Lots of people bring plenty of games and rules will always be explained so don't worry if you're new to the hobby and you don't have anything to bring along or think you won't know how to play. Late comers always welcome, you just might have to wait a little for a game to open up. **The meet ups are free of charge but we do ask that people support the bar by buying food and/or drink. The bar is very accommodating to us and it's important that we support them in return. Bringing in outside food or drink is completely unacceptable.** Check out the comments below where people will say what games they are bringing and express your interest in joining if interested

The next Dub\|Sec meetup will take place in the Abbey Room of the Camden Court Hotel on May 27\, 2026\. We'll be there from 6.30pm. Our first speaker will start at around 7pm. **19:00 - Talk 1: The Invisible Thread: From Retail Data Breaches to Phone Scams.** by Vadym Melnychenko How “Zombie Systems” in local shops become digital back-doors, why this is happening, and what a more secure “Retail Fortress” approach looks like. **19:30 - Talk 2: Securing Originality - how do we protect the quality and authenticity of human thinking** by Kalyani Korpe As universities are scrambling to respond to GenAI use and students pushing back, how are organisations protecting human thinking. Original thinking is an asset that needs governance, the same way we govern systems and data. If you would like to speak at this event or at any future Dub\|Sec\, please email us at [info@dubsec.ie](http://info@dubsec.ie/)! Join us for some drinks, food and general chat about infosec. Let’s play… Monster of the Week / Salvage Union / Mothership
Let’s play… Monster of the Week / Salvage Union / Mothership
Join us every Sunday and tell a story as a group by playing a beginner-friendly roleplaying game. Every week we have 2-3 different games - you will choose which game you play on the day. All materials provided and rules are explained at the start of each game, you just need to bring your imagination. 🎭 **This week's facilitators:** * ☣️ **Antonia** with *[Monster of the Week](https://evilhat.com/product/monster-of-the-week/)*, a fiction-first action-horror RPG. You are part of a ragtag group of hunters who investigate the strange, the supernatural, and the terrifying. Think *Buffy*, *Supernatural*, or *The* *X-Files*. Ordinary people (or mostly ordinary) who know that the darkness is real, that every fairytale and folk story contains some truth. As a hunter, you've decided to do something about it. Something is wrong in Harrow Lane - three residents have been hospitalized in the past couple of weeks with one dead, displaying the same baffling symptoms. A wasting sickness no doctor can explain seems to be spreading around town. All while the residents report strange disturbances during the night. Will you be able to identify the source of the sickness before more people succumb to it? * 🦾 **Flo** with *[Salvage Union](https://leyline.press/collections/salvage-union)*, a post-apocalyptic mech RPG with easy to learn mechanics. In a distant future, humanity has spread and scattered through the stars, Corporations own most of the liveable planets and a majority of the population works for them. Your group however is part of the Salvage Union, a self-sustaining community of workers, salvagers, pilots, technicians, cooks, and all manner of free spirits rejecting the Corpo’s hegemony. Your Crawler, a constantly falling apart colony-ship, slowly moves along from planet to planet in the Outer Rim to salvage as much Scrap as you can carry, using Mechs put together with salvaged scrap, duct tape and the unshakable belief that despite the Corpos and dangerous alien wildlife there is still hope and good people out there. You are **Salvagers**, what stories will they tell about you? * 🚀 **Eoin** with *[Mothership](https://www.tuesdayknightgames.com/pages/mothership-rpg): The Haunting of Ypsilon 14*, a sci-fi horror RPG. A routine cargo job on a remote asteroid mining base takes a bizarre turn. A worker has gone missing and there are reports of strange activity all over the station. Will you uncover the mystery and escape with your lives? *** Feel free to ask the organisers any questions you have (here or on our [Discord server](https://tinyurl.com/indie-rpgs-dublin)).
