# Cacao comes from a tree that has been used by Mexican, Central and South American indigenous cultures for spirituality and healing purposes. The main characteristic of this sacred medicine is opening the heart. During this ceremony we will practice the sacred ritual of drinking ceremonial grade cacao in its purest form to open our hearts to invite ancestral healing. Let’s enjoy some nature together before it gets too hot! Huntley Meadows offers a nice mostly flat walk through the woods and into a protected marshland with plentiful wildlife including birds, frogs, turtles, and a beaver or two if we’re lucky! It’s gorgeous and really feels like being out in nature although we get to stay in Alexandria :) We will meet at the benches outside the Nature Center (a short walk from the parking lot) at 10am and do a loop into the marshlands. Folks can join for as much or as little walking as desired; it’s only 1-3 miles to explore the park. We can also explore the nature center or picnic a bit before/after our walk as desired.
