Broei is a youth-driven city lab from Ghent (Belgium), founded in 2020 as a temporary experiment in a medieval castle. What started as a space for and by young people (16–30) grew into a citywide platform connecting young makers, youth organisations and newcomers through an open call, a creatorspace (broei.lab) and a solidarity restaurant. In 2027, Broei returns to the castle — this time permanently — and is rethinking its future as Broei 3.0.
