I'm a newly certified singing bowl practitioner and I'd to start training. Welcome to the Party of Fives Meetups! If you are a gamer who wants to go beyond the usual PARTY gaming fare at boardgame meetups and cafes, this is it! We don't usually play Cards against Humanity, Exploding Kittens and Unstable Unicorns. That's just us. Make us play if you can. We will be playing an assortment of board games ranging from light strategic kinds to heavy thematic ones. Games we usually play range from light ones like Azul, Splendor, Jamaica to medium ones like Yokohama, Endeavor and Nippon and of course heavy ones like Twilight Imperium, Gloomhaven, Tainted Grail and Kingdom Death Monster! Do not be surprised if you see us painting miniatures or are engaged in some sort of insanely time-consuming enhancements towards our game elements in our games. Everyone get their kick in different ways. :) Painting groups are also in their groups of fives ... For the game designers out there, just tell us that you are a creator when you see us and we will have our own private creative sessions mapped out in a feasible way. This is for young to not-so-young aspiring artists across a number of ages who wants to try manga drawing in a structured and guided face to face environment. We have 4 categories: A.9-11 years. They say the best manga talents start doodling at 4-7 years. This is the next best thing. Art in school is boring. You want to be better than your art teacher. This is it. B. 12-18 years. Some of the best years for learning manga drawing early. Be mindful that this is not your usual school CCA. It is lit. C. 19-28 years. You have decided to learn drawing at a more serious level. You like manga. You want to meet people of similar interest and who are equally serious about it. This is gonna be awesome. D. 29-45 years. You have sort of put this off for some time and you decided that this is time to revisit this hobby again for whatever reason. You want to be professional while you still can because some damn 9 year old is starting on the dream you want and you are just salty. It could also be the last opportunity you can live your mangaka dream and you want to take the plunge. YOLO. Classes are usually conducted on Saturdays or Sundays in 2 hours blocks from 2 pm onwards. Greetings writers! Come down and join your fellow wordsmiths for one hour of uninterrupted writing time in the upper level of the Market District Supermarket in Upper Arlington. The main entrance of the shopping center opens onto stairs/elevator leading up to the 2nd floor cafe section where we will have a table displaying a sign with the Shut Up & Write logo. Writing is largely a solitary craft. Practicing with others in a community setting may be the thing you need to fire your own routine. We’ll meet on Wednesday evenings, starting the clock at 6:30, following a brief period of introductions. This is solid writing time and all inclusive. Any project is acceptable, be it fiction, non -fiction, work or homework assignment. All is welcome and will remain private to you. The market boasts a Starbucks, a full service bar and various affordable food options. Parking is plentiful, free Wifi is provided as well as outlets for charging your devices, though they are somewhat limited, so plan accordingly. Show up as early as you like, or stay late. This group tends to socialize some, both before and after the alloted time, but this is not mandatory to you. Feel free to come and go as you please and late arrivals are welcome. The cafe may be noisy on occasion so headphones/ earbuds are reccommended as you see fit. Please try to RSVP if possible so that we may grab enough seats for all—the venue can be busy at times. I'm canceling my subscription as a Meetup organizer as of March 9th 2026. I have never made it a priority and I know anyone of you can do a better job than I did. I do believe that organizing like minded people together is important in the world we live in today.
