Reading Party âď¸đ
\*\*\*\*\*\*
***For address and more details see the website.***
\*\*\*\*\*\*
**Event Info:**
Bring along your **current book to read** (or something **creative** to work on đđ¨đ§ľ) and join us for this mix of a shared focus time + discussion.
\- 19:00\-19:30 \- Meet & greet
\- 19:30\-20:30 \- Silent focus time
\- 20:30 \- Discussion of books/ projects over coffee
**Drinks & snacks are included** âď¸
* **To reserve your place, a ticket (âŹ9,90/event) or a community pass (only âŹ14,90/MONTH) [from the website](www.pausify.org) is required**
* **Attendance here doesnât show all sign-ups from other platforms.**
***FAQ: Why does it cost money if I bring my own project?***
Because we rent a beautiful, central space for every event. Ever thought your monthly apartment rent was too high? Well, multiply that â thatâs what commercial spaces in big cities like Berlin cost *per hour*.
Of course, if all you want is just some quiet time, your home or a library is perfect. But if youâd like to focus & connect with others in an inspiring space â with drinks, snacks included â thatâs what your ticket helps to cover.

Build & Learn: Data Science with Coffee Badge for Lindsey
**đ
Week 1 Focus: Kickoff & New Shared Project Theme**
Weâre starting a new **7-week cycle** with a clear theme:
**building one data science project together from start to finish.** đŠâđť No experience required
Each 7-week cycle focuses on a **small, well-defined part of a larger system**âand over time, these cycles build toward a complete, real-world project (covering data engineering, data science, and deployment).
Youâre welcome to work on your own project if you prefer, but the shared project gives everyone a common foundation and learning rhythm.
đ§ 2026 First Project
This cycleâs shared project is an **image-based knowledge extraction system**., including:
* Taking photos of book pages or documents
* Extracting and cleaning text from images
* Structuring that information into something useful (e.g. flashcards, notes, summaries)
đ By the End of a Full Cycle, You should Have
đŻ A working project in your own GitHub repo
đŻ A small but real portfolio piece you can demo or write about
đŻ Experience going from messy inputs â concrete outcomes
Perfection isnât the goalâfinishing something real is.
⨠Whoâs Hosting?
Iâm Lindsey, a senior data scientist working on AI, causal inference, and data products.
Iâve built models for fraud detection, uplift modeling, and LLM-based systemsâand I care a lot about learning through building, not hype.

2026 Kickoff - Discover MBTI @ Castle Mitte
Hi everyone, join us on Sunday, January 25th, at Castle Mitte for a fun afternoon to connect and discuss MBTI personality, psychology and other interesting topics. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Take a test to learn your type:
https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test
https://sakinorva.net/functions
Some basic info on functions and type:
https://www.verywellmind.com/the-myers-briggs-type-indicator-2795583
https://www.truity.com/blog/beginners-guide-understanding-mbti-cognitive-functions
Our group aims to bring together people who are interested in self-development and self-improvement using MBTI and cognitive functions, in order to learn more about the theory and share our experiences with it. Another reason for this meetup is to meet people with whom you might potentially get along really well based on your type. This can lead to meaningful connections :)âŠAlthough the meetup is geared towards people who are interested in learning about MBTI theory and using it to improve their lives, our conversations arenât only about that! We talk about anything and everything. So it's more like a regular social meetup with the aim of avoiding small talk :)

**The Vibe:** Agentic AI is moving too fast for âbest practices.â We are here to experiment, debug, and learn from each other.

\* **Show & Tell:** Share what you are working on (even if itâs broken).
\* **Dissect Approaches:** Discuss how to handle context, loops, and hallucinations in production.
\* **Hands-on:** Bring your laptop. We try different setups live.
The Logistics:
đ Location: My Office in Grunewald area â Boardroom.
đ Capacity: Strictly limited to 6 seats.
đ Food/Drinks: Snacks and drinks provided.
Who is this for? **Professionals eager to actively shape the future and elevate software engineering through Agentic AI.** We are looking for people ready to co-create the next generation of workflows, not just watch from the sidelines. Silent Reading Club
**Silent Reading Book Club**
A new way to enjoy reading! Ditch the old book club, where everyone has to read the same bookâŚthis is better!
It works like this: Bring your own book. Come chat, have some tea or coffee, get to know your neighbors. Then we quietly read together, side by side, for about one hour, each one reading their own book, and afterwards we talk with each other about what we are reading.
You may read in any language, you may read any book. We are a group of international residents of Berlin from many different countries, of all ages, and we converse in English. We welcome you!
no registration needed- the event is donation based

Contra dance with Big Scioty on Feb. 7 - First Congregational Church
**Caller: Dan Kappus**
**Band: Trillium**
**Big Scioty Contra Dance**
**temporarily returning to our long ago location for Jan-March - First Congregational Church, 444 E. Broad St., Columbus 43215**
WHAT IS CONTRA DANCING? Picture the Grand Ball scenes like youâve seen in period films such as âPride and Prejudiceâ, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. Thatâs English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like âswing your partnerâ and âdo-si-do,â like youâve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alĂĄ âRiverdance.â Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude. THATâs Contra Dancing!
Wear cool and comfortable clothes (you will get warm) and clean shoes that won't mark up our nice wood floor.
Be sure to come for the beginner's lesson from 7:30 - 8:00, followed by dancing 8:00 - 10:30. All dances are taught; we will help you learn! Beginners always welcome, no need to bring a partner.
Cost is $10.00 adults, $5.00 ages 12-26. Under 12 free. Free parking in church lot.
For more information contact me or check out our website: [www.bigscioty.com](http://www.bigscioty.com/)
Please bring your own refillable water bottle. Snacks to share are always welcome!
