CHRISTIAN PARTY OF AMERICA NATIONWIDE PUBLIC CONFERENCE CALL
“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord” (Ps 33:12, KJV)
Please join the Christian Party of America’s monthly Nationwide, public Conference Call to discuss current political issues with like-minded Christians. The conference call is the second Thursday of each month at 8:30 PM est. Lets join in a discussion on what can be done to address the concerns we all share for the status of our country’s civil government and have prayer to close the call. Guest speakers will be present at some of the calls to provide input on political issues.
The Christian Party of America (www.christianpartyof america.com) is a new, national third-party of Christian voters, dedicated to proclaiming that Jesus is Lord in the political arena. Our purpose is to bring our country back to being an unabashedly Christian nation, by offering and electing competent candidates who share and promote our vision. Please join us in our goal of uniting believers under the banner of Jesus Christ to bring constitutional freedom to all people of the United States. We believe in the Christian principles set forth in the Bible, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the Declaration of Independence.
The Christian Party of America’s nationwide Conference Calls are a great opportunity to connect with other Christian Party supporters as we try to make a difference in this country. So sign on with us for the conference call to discuss issues and contribute your thoughts about what we can be doing politically. Our conference calls are open to the public and are for all of us who are interested in the Christian Party of America. It is an easy-access way to share ideas and learn more about what is going on around the country with the Christian Party of America. Hope you can make it!
There is no extra charge to participate other than the usual charges by your phone plan for a long distance call.
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV)

Distribution Event - Atheists Helping the Homeless
**Looking to**
\- Help out neighbors in the DC area?
\- Support a secular charity?
\- Connect with other atheists and humanists?
Join Atheists Helping the Homeless DC at our monthly distribution event!
Atheists Helping the Homeless is a 501(c)(3) charity that distributes items like backpacks, socks, gloves, and toiletries to people in need throughout the Washington, DC region.
We meet up on the second Saturday of every month outside of a homeless shelter in Silver Spring, MD, called Progress Place, and pass out whatever items we have to whoever is there. Each month we serve between 60 - 100 people. Afterwards, we usually go out for breakfast.
Our goal is to provide a way for people to help each other without affiliating with a religion. Our method is to go straight to those in need, and create a welcoming and fun atmosphere to effectively create an environment where secular community can grow and thrive.
If this sounds fun, see you there!
JOIN US! Moon Over Buffalo comedy
Please read all details:
Join us for the opening night of the Music and Drama Club's production of the ***Moon Over Buffalo***. This is the theater group sponsored by the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MAD. Continue scrolling to see plot description, ticket prices, link and venue.
**Plot description**: Ken Ludwig’s ***Moon over Buffalo*** is a comedy about a husband-and-wife acting duo, George and Charlotte Hay, who are performing in repertory in Buffalo, New York in 1953. Their careers are on the brink of disaster when they learn that famous film director Frank Capra might be coming to see their show, giving them a potential last chance at Hollywood stardom. However, everything that can go wrong does go wrong. With slamming doors, mistaken identities and costume malfunctions, this hilarious play has all of the classic elements of a farce. Parental Guidance suggested: some material may not be suitable for children. (Scroll down).
A live musical cabaret will entertain us as we gather and socialize before the play begins. The play begins at 7p.m. I've listed the start time as **6:30 in order to get seats together** and listen to the cabaret.
**Prices:** There's a $4.00 Discount on Opening Weekend
Regular prices are: $22 for adults, $20 for seniors (60+)/military, $12 for children/students/interns
**[https://madtheater.org/](https://madtheater.org/)** and click "Tickets on Sale now!" link.
**Venue Location:** The Barney and Bea Recreation Center 9998 Good Luck Rd, Glenn Dale, MD 20771
**Why parental guidance?** Because the humor depends on marital strife, an extramarital affair, alcohol abuse played for comedy, and suggestive farce situations—plus sharp arguing and rough physical antics—many theaters and schools choose to post a content note so parents can decide if it fits their expectations for their children’s maturity level. Message me with your cell phone if you want me to send you the detailed results of my search on perplexity.ai.
Nature's God: The Heretical Origins of the American Republic, cont'd
This will be our second (and possibly last) meeting on *Nature's God: The Heretical Origins of the American Republic*, by Matthew Stewart. For this meeting, please try to read chapters 4 and 6. (You can skim chapter 5, which is particularly confusing).
**Where did the ideas come from that became the cornerstone of American democracy?**
America’s founders intended to liberate us not just from one king but from the ghostly tyranny of supernatural religion. Drawing deeply on the study of European philosophy, Matthew Stewart brilliantly tracks the ancient, pagan, and continental ideas from which America’s revolutionaries drew their inspiration. In the writings of Spinoza, Lucretius, and other great philosophers, Stewart recovers the true meanings of “Nature’s God,” “the pursuit of happiness,” and the radical political theory with which the American experiment in self-government began.
[LINK](https://a.co/d/bkTWJNb)
This book is not always an easy read. You may want to make use of AI tools such as ChatGPT. You can ask it questions like:
"What does Matthew Stewart say about happiness in his book Nature's God?" OR:
What does Matthew Stewart say about Spinoza?
This may be our last meeting on this book. If you want to have a third meeting later, on the last two chapters, let me know.
I hope to see you there!

What Happened to the Energy Transition?
What Happened to the Energy Transition?
To land a ship on a moving target, the moon, for example, from a moving object, the earth, requires an enormous attention to facts and a mastery of detail. Getting any of these wrong can lead to disaster. Climate science tells us we must transition to a zero carbon society—and fast. But are climate-deniers the only obstacle to that transition? We will discuss the work of economic historian Jean-Baptise Fressoz who suggests that even as we move to solar panels and electric vehicles, rather than “transitioning” to a zero carbon world we will continue to consume more, and more, and more and produce more carbon dioxide. Is there a way out of here? As harrowing as it sounds, its best to pay attention to the facts and master the details so we can discuss real solutions. Perhaps, a solution that depends on a transition in our ethical thinking.

Humanist Program
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event.
We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change. Unchained At Last's mission clearly meshes and addresses several of our Humanist Ten Commitments. Becca will educate us about an issue many of us may not be familiar with--but should be.
Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk.
Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. You can meet us in-person or attend online

Fun & easy way to play more tennis (read event description)
We’re still working to get more people into these Meetups, but our goal is to give PlayYourCourt members a few social tennis outings each week in addition to your practice sessions and Challenge League matches.
These Meetups are co-ed, super laid back, and all skill levels are welcome. Post your skill level and a suggested court in the comments section so we can round up as many players as we can for some tennis fun!
Also, if you’re looking to meet new practice partners or play some matches and you aren’t already in the PlayYourCourt Community, you can go here to see what we’re all about and sign up:
https://www.playyourcourt.com/tennis-community/columbus-oh/meetup/
If you love tennis, we’d love to have you! Be sure and watch the quick video that explains how everything works.
Happy hitting!
