**Making Access Control Management Easy: Introducing pg_acm**
PostgreSQL does not have any prescribed guidelines for the use of schemas, also called namespaces. A namespace is just one of many attributes of an object, whether an object is a table, a view, a function, or any other object type available in PostgreSQL. One of the common reasons for using schemas is to simplify access control management. The idea is straightforward: all objects within one schema should have identical access privileges. As simple as it sounds, the practical implementation of this approach can quickly turn into an operational nightmare unless all participants agree to follow a set of rules that are difficult to enforce. That is, unless you use pg_acm: an access control management tool for PostgreSQL, which we are going to introduce in this talk. The only thing you need to do is to define an access management policy for your database. Once it is defined, a CREATE SCHEMA command will invoke the creation of a set of event triggers and roles. All of them, working together, will ensure your access policy enforcement. No more accidental grants to PUBLIC. No more mysterious “permission denied” errors. You are in control.

**How Hard Can a Simple Kubernetes PostgreSQL Self-Service Be?**
"How hard can it be?" We thought building a simple self-service was easy: let developers order a PostgreSQL instance, its databases, and users straight from the Kubernetes API, without caring which cloud runs underneath. Using managed services like AWS RDS behind a clean Crossplane-based interface, the first prototype came together fast and then day 2 arrived. This talk is a field report on everything between "it works!" and production: Kubernetes finalizers and RDS deletion protection that trap objects in limbo, backups you can only restore into a brand-new instance, and the day a user deleted an entire namespace and took our teardown logic with it. Along the way we leaned on Kyverno policies as duct tape and an upstream PR still stuck in review. If you build self-service infrastructure on Kubernetes or just enjoy other people's operational scar tissue you'll leave with concrete patterns and a healthy respect for the word "simple."

Love languages? 👅 Want to practice speaking? Come to our meetup!
*How does it work? Simple!*
👉 Make a name tag with your name and languages that you speak/learn!
👉 Look for someone who has a language you want to practice - and strike a conversation!
*Important:*
* **Be comfortable to "eavesdrop"** **on a conversation** in a fascinating language you are not ready to speak yet - "I just want to listen" is a thing! ☝😎
* If someone joins you with this intention - **don't switch to English** (as you normally would, because you don't want to exclude your friend from a conversation!) - but in this setting - **keep talking!** You are giving others an opportunity to listen! 😁👂
Well, this is it... we are looking forward to seeing you on Friday! Let's discover unexpected language matches together! 🤩
📸Disclaimer: The host may take photos during the event for promotion purposes. If you do not agree with this, please inform the host directly at the beginning of the meetup, otherwise it will be understood as consent.

Free In-Person Meeting: Get Over Losses & Betrayals, Build Lasting Relationships
This is a free, in-person meeting on the subject of betrayals, losses and how to get over them so you can build lasting relationships.
Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse.
Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well.
Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship.
Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action?
Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships!
Break free from self imposed limitations
Here we will discuss:
• How to “erase” the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes.
• Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you?
• Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it?
• Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love?
• Fights & arguments - what's really behind them?
• What underlies “corrosive criticism” or the need to invalidate self or others?
• How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change?
• Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them?
• How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about?
• How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career?
Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general.
Learn where painful experiences are “stored” and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can “erase” those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become “toxic” personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person.
Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life.
We look forward to having you join us!
This class is sponsored by the Dianetics & Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.

CMG Gives Back: Serve Dinner at FAITH MISSION GRANT KITCHEN!
Join us as we get together to get together to help those in need at this CMG Gives Back event! We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “Create a better world” by helping serve those in need. NOTE: We’re switching it up this time and going with a DINNER shift on Mon, 7/6. Here are complete details and our plan for this event:
FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces.
PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for DINNER from 4:30 to 6:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 4:20pm and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
LOCATION: Faith Mission – Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking are available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details:
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain you’ll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1 week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to those volunteering at this (or any of our previous or future) CMG Gives Back events!
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan
