Building Inclusive AI Experiences with Sign Language and GenAI
Building Inclusive AI Experiences with Sign Language and GenAI
What if your phone could read your hands the way it reads your taps? Imagine making the gesture for weather and instantly hearing today's forecast, or using the sign for traffic to learn whether the road is clear - all without a keystroke. By pairing real-time gesture recognition with generative AI, we unlock a playful, inclusive interface for everyone. In this talk, you’ll see how computer-vision models, Keras, Gemini, and Firebase Genkit combine to build a sign-language-savvy mobile app. To secure your spot, make sure to register using this link only: https://www.eventbrite.es/e/building-inclusive-ai-experiences-sign-language-and-genai-42-barcelona-tickets-1990879125056 About the Speaker Meet Carlos Mota, a Google Developers Expert for Android who is deeply passionate about the future of mobile technology. ¿La IA va a arreglar tus operaciones? FALSO.
¿La IA va a arreglar tus operaciones? FALSO.
No habrá pitch comercial.

Beach Conversations Barcelona
Beach Conversations Barcelona
Join us on **Wednesday, June 17th from 18:00 to 21:00** for a chill evening on the beach — a light picnic, a swim, and good conversation in English. *** ### **What we’ll do:** This evening will be a easygoing mix of chatting, picnic food, and (if you’re up for it) a dip in the sea. No structure, no rules — just a relaxed environment to talk and meet people. *** ### **What to bring (all optional):** * Something simple for a light picnic * Beach towel to sit on * Drinks * Swim gear (optional) *** ### **Who should come:** * Native speakers looking for a relaxed social setting * Non-native speakers with a decent level who want real conversation practice * Anyone who prefers smaller groups and a calmer vibe *** ### **A quick note:** This event is a small, respectful, easy-going space focused on good conversation. If you’re looking for something relaxed and a bit different, you’ll probably enjoy it. The meetup is hosted by a native English speaker with 15+ years of teaching experience. I’m happy to help if you need it, but the focus is on natural conversation rather than lessons. *** ### **Details:** 📍 Nova Icaria beach (at the end closest to the marina) 🕕 18:00–21:00 💬 English only 💸 Free We have an WhatsApp group for easier communication on the day if you’re running late or having trouble finding us: **https://chat.whatsapp.com/C41uzgUcsbsKeSFkMjUjuv** If you’re coming, please RSVP so I have an idea of numbers. Please treat this as a respectful social space focused on conversation and community rather than dating or pickup.

Smart Search + AI: An Outcome-Driven Journey from IDP to a Suite of AI
Smart Search + AI: An Outcome-Driven Journey from IDP to a Suite of AI
Over a billion documents processed. Millions of Veterans impacted. Hundreds of thousands of employee hours saved. Faster decisions. Greater accuracy. More benefits in the hands of our disabled Veterans. We created Smart Search, the world’s largest consumer of Amazon Textract, right when GenAI began reshaping what’s possible. Since then, we’ve built a suite of AI‑driven solutions that transform this data into real, measurable outcomes—accelerating benefits decisions for our Nation’s Veterans. Join us for a focused conversation on how an outcome‑driven approach to AI is helping us boost accuracy, streamline workflows, and deliver faster results for those who have served. This is a follow up to the AWS re:Invent 2023 "Intelligent Document Processing with Gen AI for Public Sector" presentation. Free in Person Meeting - Get Over Losses and Betrayls
Free in Person Meeting - Get Over Losses and Betrayls
Do you want more motivation and confidence to build Lasting Relationships? This is a free, in-person meeting on the subject of betrayals, losses and how to get over them so you can build lasting relationships. Are you burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse. Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival, while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well. Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship. Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action? Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships! Break free from self imposed limitations Here we will discuss: • How to “erase” the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes. • Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you? • Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it? • Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love? • Fights & arguments - what's really behind them? • What underlies “corrosive criticism” or the need to invalidate self or others? • How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change? • Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them? • How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about? • How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career? Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general. Learn where painful experiences are “stored” and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can “erase” those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become “toxic” personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person. Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life. Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there. This class is held at the Dianetics and Scientology Life Improvement Center.

How to Get Over Losses and Betrayls & Build Lasting Relationships
How to Get Over Losses and Betrayls & Build Lasting Relationships
Join us for this free, in person meeting on the subject of betrayals, losses and how to get over them so you can build lasting relationships. Do you want more motivation and confidence to build lasting relationships? We look forward to having you join us! This class is held at the Dianetics and Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.

Battle of the personal agents
Battle of the personal agents
Join the Columbus AI community for a special event. **Battle of the Personal Agents** is your chance to see what people are actually building with AI agents and personal automation systems. Whether you’re running OpenClaw, Hermes, or a completely custom solution, bring your agent and show the community how it works. We’re interested in real-world implementations: the problems your agent solves, how you use it day-to-day, how it’s hosted and managed, how you built it, and why you’ve chosen to keep using it. Live demonstrations are encouraged, so be prepared to show your code, architecture, workflows, and your agent performing real tasks. This is less about polished presentations and more about sharing practical experience, comparing approaches, and learning from one another. If you’d like to present, please contact Chris Slee (via meetup) before the event so we can allocate enough time for everyone’s demonstrations. Come ready to show what you’ve built, discover what others are doing, and maybe find a few ideas worth taking home. Whether you’re deep in the field or just getting curious, come connect with others building and exploring AI in Columbus.
