Patanjali’s Yoga Sutra Chap. 4 Kaivalya Pada from a Tantric Perspective
**Module 4 out of 4 \| February 20th – 22nd 2026 \| Nicolae Catrina \(Adinathananda\) \| Berlin \(MahaYoga Zentrum\)**
**Starting on February 20th at around 19:00 CET and ending on February 22nd at 17:30 CET.**
*Please be aware, that you **can** participate if you didn’t participate at the previous modules.*
**About the Workshop**
Patanjali’s treatise ‘Yoga Sutras’ is more than two thousand years old, but is still one of the best manuals for a harmonious and successful Yoga practice, which contains the essence of Yoga. It describes in detail the different states of meditation and spiritual awakening as well as the fundamental principles and ethics of Yoga, Yama and Niyama.
Being based on inner experience, rather than exclusively theoretical knowledge, makes this treatise effective for anyone. The Tantric perspective on Yoga Sutras assists us to realise, that not only a safe and direct way to godly ecstasy (samadhi in Sanskrit) is described, but also on how to bring this elevated state of consciousness back to everyday life, outside of our Yoga practice. By achieving a deeper understanding and bringing life and depth to Patanjali’s aphorisms as well as access to the foundation of Yoga and the opportunity to experience samadhi here and now, either due to personal continuous practice or with Tantric practice in a loving couple, is what the Tantric perspective enables us to do.
The purpose of this workshop is to reveal Patanjali’s brilliant vision of this path, which is found in all spiritual traditions, the refocussing on our essential Self (Atman in Sanskrit) from our ego (ahamkara). This is done by presenting the deep understanding and intuition, which are required to unveil the secrets of the Yoga Sutras.
Practical methods, based on the original Sanskrit text, will be shared in order to:
* Transform almost every moment of our daily life into a blissful spiritual realisation
* Hugely improve both the quality, and the transformative power of our Yoga or Tantra practice
* Obtain the revelation of our essential Self (Atman)
* Deeply harmonise our love relationships
* Enjoy an ever happy and fulfilling life.
Join us for this culminating fourth module, where we journey into the serene and luminous teachings of the final chapter of the Yoga Sutras.
Here, Patanjali reveals Kaivalya — the ultimate state of freedom, where the mind dissolves into stillness and pure consciousness rests in its own essence. Together, we will explore the profound liberation that arises when identification with thought and form falls away, and the practitioner abides in the clarity of their true nature.
This final stage is not about gaining, but about releasing — the return to wholeness, simplicity, and peace. Rooted in deep practice and insight, this module invites us to experience the quiet radiance of awareness itself — the essence of yoga fulfilled.
**About the instructor**
**Nicolae Catrina (Adinathananda)** is a yoga instructor with more than 30 years of experience.
Two decades ago he founded the only Kashmir Shaivism course in Europe that offers to the thousands of participants from Romania and abroad the riches and profoundness of this spiritual tradition in a unique way that is adapted to western mentality.
His deep interest for various forms of authentic spirituality and his spiritual intuition have helped him elaborate over time a series of initiatic courses, such as Tantric Alchemy, Enneagram or esoteric I-Ching. He also created a unique system for the revelation of the Essential Self, Atman, based on a supramental approach – but also a very accessible one – for the revelation of the Self (based on the enlightening esthetic experience) that has already helped thousands of aspirants take important steps towards discovering their essential divine nature.
He is the author of many books on Shaivism, Yoga, Tantra, Alchemy, initiatic art etc. He has translated many important yogic and tantric texts, such as Sundaryalahari, Shiva Samhita or Gheranda Samhita. He exclusively offers in his Shaivism courses numerous traditional, esoteric works, such as Shiva Sutra, Spanda Karika, Vijnana Bhairava Tantra etc., as well as their practical, deeply transforming knowledge in a new, innovative way.

**– From Lichtenrade S-Bahn Station to Gropiusstadt –**
with ***Harms*** and ***Thomas***
**[Free event with registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/village-outdoor/w08-2026/)**
On our first hike of 2026, we continue along the Berlin Wall Trail on the southern city limits – this time from Lichtenrade to Gropiusstadt. Even at the S-Bahn station, the eye is drawn to the historic industrial building of the Alte Mälzerei , a former malt factory that was recently transformed into an inclusive urban quarter.
From the station, we walk through a residential area to the southern section of the Wall Trail. As in the previous section, the path leads us along the city’s edge for long stretches through the open countryside in southern Berlin. The former patrol road of the GDR border troops is still partially preserved here; some of the lampposts that once illuminated the border strip are also still standing. Even from a distance, the distinctive silhouette of Gropiusstadt announces the end point of our hike.

Sunday Board Games at Land-Grant Brewing
We'll play board games at the [Land-Grant Brewing Company](https://landgrantbrewing.com/). The brewery has multiple [food trucks](https://landgrantbrewing.com/food/) on Sundays, including [Ray Ray's Hog Pit](https://rayrayshogpit.com/franklinton), [Buck City Sammies](https://www.buckcitysammies.com/menu), and [Hai Poké](https://www.haipokefoodtruck.com/).
The brewery also has (passable) drip coffee, free water, and Jeni's ice cream. You can also walk over to the [Land Grant Extension](https://callinyourbluffcoffee.com/) for "real" coffee. (You may have to stand in line, though. The Extension is popular.)
You can come late or leave early. Please just sign up so I know to expect you.
**Notes on Parking**
* You'll (probably) have to park on the street, but street parking is free on Sundays.
* There are [parking garages](https://landgrantbrewing.com/parking/) a little farther away if you want. These are obviously not free, though.
* There is a [lot next door](https://www.google.com/maps/place/39%C2%B057'26.0%22N+83%C2%B000'40.9%22W/@39.957211,-83.0119921,19z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m12!1m7!3m6!1s0x88388f3efd89238b:0xc139207386232411!2sLand-Grant+Brewing+Company!8m2!3d39.9577613!4d-83.011426!16s%2Fg%2F1pzt7t9df!3m3!8m2!3d39.957211!4d-83.011347?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDEyMS4wIKXMDSoKLDEwMDc5MjA3MUgBUAM%3D) to the brewery that you're allowed to park in, but it is not free. I've never parked there, so I don't know anything about rates. (I'm told though that if you eat at Milo's Deli next door to this lot that Milo's will stamp your parking so it's free.)
* You're going to see odd signs on [Lucas St](https://www.google.com/maps/place/39%C2%B057'26.1%22N+83%C2%B000'40.3%22W/@39.957256,-83.0124134,19z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m10!1m5!3m4!2zMznCsDU3JzI4LjgiTiA4M8KwMDAnNDEuNSJX!8m2!3d39.957993!4d-83.011536!3m3!8m2!3d39.957256!4d-83.011197?entry=ttu&g_ep=EgoyMDI2MDEyMS4wIKXMDSoKLDEwMDc5MjA3MUgBUAM%3D) (saying it's a "private street") that will lead you to believe you're not allowed to park there, but you actually are.
* Columbus parking cops literally do not work on Sundays. This means that, even if you're driving a non-EV, you can park in the EV spots near the brewery.
**Games**
I do bring many games, but please bring some of your own as well.

Free In-person Meeting: Unwanted Emotions & Loneliness, How to Get Over Them
This is an in-person meeting.
Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance.
Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you.
The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life.
For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues.
So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them?
That is what this meeting will be all about.
Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life.
Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there.

COUNT RMH Housewarmer Volunteering (Ronald McDonald House)
Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process.
Fast track
• Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell).
• Show up and try it out.
• Complete application, etc. later.
Normal process
• Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/).
• Attend orientation in advance.
• At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility.
• Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM.
• Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895).
The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014.
Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.
